Chapter 287: Fight

Jules’ pov

It felt like I was about to die. I could feel the life slowly drop out of me the more my lungs felt like it was on fire even more. It was pitch black in here but that didn’t stop darker spots from appearing behind my eyelids.

I couldn’t believe that I’d actually end up dying like this, right in the hands of the person who I love more than my own self.

I was still trying to tug on his wrist but it was pointless because his grip was as strong as steel.

After a few moments passed, I silently asked myself if I was really gonna die like this.

I’m no longer the weak kid I was once. I’ve evolved. I’ve grown. I’ve taken fighting lessons in the past six months. I’ve perfected my magic use. I’m now a literal king.

So, why would I chose to go down like this? Without putting up any sort of fight?

As those series of thoughts burned through every inch of my insides, I felt immense strength start to grow inside of me from nowhere. The will which I had already lost returned in hundred folds, and suddenly, I didn’t feel scared anymore.

Instead, what I felt was anger. Anger because I was standing here and my mate couldn’t recognize me. And also determination. Determination because now, I was hell bent on making him realize that I was the one actually here and not some sort of stubborn ghost playing tricks on him.

I stopped fighting against his hold and dropped my hands, and then I tried listening to the atmosphere around me. One thing I learnt after getting deeper into magic was that there was always magic in the air, and skilled warlocks can be able to make use of them wherever and whenever.

My lungs burned and my eyes stung but I didn’t let panic come into my mind, and after a fleeting moment, I felt magic in the air, an insane amount of magic, and a wave of relief washed over me because that was exactly what I currently need.

With my eyes still closed, I chanted inaudibly and then I stomped my foot on the ground hard.

A jarring sound broke through the silent darkness, and then in the next moment, lights flooded everywhere in the shape of floating diamond shaped lights, hanging off every corner of the cave. Blaze staggered away from me next and I realized it was because of the burst of light. He held his head for a moment and I was able to take in his appearance once again.

Worry flooded my mind when he let out a pained groan and I was about to make my way towards him when he suddenly threw his head back and let out a roar so loud, everywhere shook and the sound of sand pouring out of some new cracks registered within me.

"I’ll fucking kill you!" He growled menacingly and my heart flew into my throat right before I ducked when a burst of fire got aimed at me in the next moment from his opened palm. It hit the spot over my head and I screamed as I hastily rolled to a different direction because the hit spot above my head crumbled down in the next moment.

After that, Blaze just continued to try getting at me with his fire, and I kept dodging each of them. I was grateful to all the training I went through in the past six months because it made me faster than I could ever imagine and also light on my feet.

Blaze was furious at this point and after he managed to corner me at a point, I managed to slid out from between his legs, and I instantly began to run down the corner to my left. The lights hanging in the air all followed me at once, but when Blaze suddenly appeared in front of me out of thin air before I could make another turn, I let out a startled scream as I fell on my ass.

I had kind of forgotten that he could teleport.

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

He aimed a ball of fire at me and I hastily summoned a shield, blocking the fire from getting to me.

My heart was racing fast and my body was pumping with Adrenaline.

"Blaze, it’s really me!" I called out like I’ve been doing since the moment he began to attempt burning me to ashes.

He didn’t say anything. Instead, he stalked towards me and punched at my magical shield. It crackled underneath his punch and almost gave out but I doubled the magic behind it and gritted my teeth when he punched it again because the force of each blow was far from what I could comprehend.

"Blaze." I tried again but he snarled and punched the shield one more time and this time, it shattered at once.

My eyes widened and I almost passed out from fear as he began to slowly stalk towards me, appearing extremely menacing with his height, width and his appearance as a whole.

I tried calling out his name and this time, he kicked me at my side, sending me rolling to the far end of where I realized was a cliff. I stared into the cliff and realized that nothing but burning lava was at the very bottom of the cliff.

With a panicked scream, I instantly tried rolling away from the cliff.

However, Blaze was right beside his me and he prevented that from happening. I was laying at the very edge and one wrong move would have me rolling over and falling to my death. My body began to tremble from fear almost immediately.

"B- blaze." I whispered while pain shot through my sides just as he crouched beside me.

He gripped my hair and yanked on it hard.

"This would teach you to never take my words for granted. Remember it in your next life." He growled right into my face and tears seeped out of my tightly shut eyes almost immediately.

With his hold on my hair, he picked me up and held me above the cliff.

There was nothing I could do at this point. I tried everything in me but he still didn’t recognize me.

This is definitely fate then. Once again, the prophesy ended up being right.

As his hold loosened from my hair, I said the last three words on my mind.

"I love you."

And after that, I began to fall.

But then Blaze caught my hand while about hundred of emotions crossed his face in the span of a second.

"Bunny?"
