Jules’ pov

I watched as he blinked once, dark eyes zeroing in on me even more. I couldn’t breath, I was too nervous because of any wrong move and I’d slip out of the hold he currently had on my wrist.

I followed his line of sight and realized he was staring at the side of my throat, at the two marks he had given me.

"Bunny?" He repeated again, slowly and unsure and I almost sobbed from relief as a burst of emotions engulf me.

"Yes, Blaze. It’s me! I- I can’t believe you’d want to throw me down this- down this..." I was choked up with so much emotions that I ended up trailing off, but then Blaze hurled me up in the next moment, pulling on my wrist till I was falling against his chest.

A sob bubbled in my throat as his large hands slid around my face.

"You’re... not dead?" He whispered and I shook my head firmly as my hands curled around his wrists. freёweɓnovel.com

"I’m not, because you caught me after I fell." I explained as I kept staring up at him.

He was silent as he slowly slid down, taking me along with me and holding me tightly against him as tremors wrack through his body.

I was feeling beyond emotional, relief so intense was coursing through every inch of my veins at the fact that he ended up recognizing me after everything. His large arms slid around my middle which he used in tugging me over his laps, and then he tilted my head sideways.

I was breathing slowly, the anderline still pumping through all of my insides. He felt hot against my skin, like a furnace, but it wasn’t unbearable, it was perfect against my cold skin. His body felt hard and firm, and also very smooth. I let my eyes drink in his face from a closer view as he leaned towards the curve of my neck. His lashes were long and his eyes were a little larger than his normal ones, his horns were really big and they looked very powerful.

When he buried his face in the curve of my throat and inhaled a strong breath, a deep shudder ran through my veins and I gasped, clutching his large biceps as soon as heated, scotching breath fanned against the mating mark which hadn’t gotten any kind of attention in the last six months since he disappeared.

His nose dragged over the mark which suddenly felt like it was on fire and I panted, head suddenly feeling heavy as it started getting assaulted with the scent of him which was suddenly filling the air. This was the actual scent which I was used to and the one I was in love with. It was like the scent had been shut away this whole time he spent here, but right now, it was filling up the entire atmosphere of the air and curling around mine just as his hands tightened around me.

He let out a deep groan and I melted against him. When a hot tongue glided over the mark, a whimper bubbled past my lips while my eyes fluttered close.

"Bunny." He whispered like he was trying to believe this was real and I called out his name, voice trailing offf into another whimper when sharp fangs nipped at my collarbone. In the next moment, he was holding my head firmly and sinking his fangs into the mark, reforging the bond between us all over again and I screamed as everything around me whitened. The pain was sharp and searing but only for a moment. It soon morphed into nothing but pure bliss and I didn’t stop shuddering and trembling against him till he retrieved his fangs and licked over the mark.

My head was still spinning and it felt like I was floating, but I wasn’t floating away because Blaze’s hands were keeping me grounded.

When I regained control of myself, I broke down against me, sobbing controllably and he shushed me while uttering how sorry he was for leaving me alone this whole time.

I shook my head firmly and told him I should be the one apologizing because I didn’t look for him hard enough.

He kissed my tears away but that only made me cry harder.

At one point, I slapped his face hard without thinking.

That would appear ridiculous to anyone. I was barely five feet and a half to his seven foot, and even though I was straddling him, he was still way larger than I am.

"Don’t ever leave me alone ever again." I said firmly and for the first time today, he rewarded me with a grin, one filled with sharp edged teeth.

"I won’t." He finally breathed out, leaning down to nuzzle at my throat with a content sound and once again, I melted against him.

He might be the most dangerous creature to half the world in this state, but right now, he is nothing but a big ball of puppy.

I ended up cupping his face after about a minute of him nipping at my throat and hugging me like I might disappear at any given minute.

I let my hands map his face, against his sharper features. His eyes bored into mine as I slid my hands over his sharp looking horns, feeling engulfed with immense awe. I couldn’t believe I was currently touching him right now, in this form at that. I came in here knowing it could all go wrong, and it did go wrong, but then it ended up becoming oh so right.

"Can you change back into your normal form?" I asked softly as I slid my hands across his shoulders, a breath of space between us.

"Yes." He responded after a few moments and an instant breath of relief whooshed out of my lungs.

"Really?" I whispered, breath bated.

Blaze didn’t respond, he only asked me to close my eyes and I instantly did as told.

The air shifted around us and when he asked me to open my eyes again, everywhere was bright. We were no longer in the cave, but we were not on the ground either.

We were in the freaking air!

That was when I heard the light whooshing sounds his fire ringed wings were making as they flapped powerfully. He was holding me firmly and I knew he’d never ever let me fall.
