Roy’s pov

Blaze frowned at me, and his mind clearly began to travel miles at once. I resisted the urge to snort because I wanted to ask him to not bother trying to figure the situation out because I’ve tried countless times but I’ve been unable to.

"He just said he didn’t want you?" He questioned, head tilted as if he was still trying to figure the situation out. I let out a long sigh, and my eyes briefly turned around, focusing on Kim and only him. He was ruffling labyrinth’s hair and was saying something to him, and after labyrinth said something to him before shoving at his chest, he bursted into laughter, his shoulders shaking with the force of his laughter while his face lit up like he had the sun within his soul.

There was something about him, something about his entire being that was just so... mesmerizing.

He had rejected me, albeit nicely, and with logical reasons, but he rejected me nonetheless.

And did that make me stop being attracted to him? Did that make me stop thinking about him and move on to someone else?

No.

Instead, my attraction and obsession with him only heightened even more, and it made me want him harder.

"He said it wasn’t the right time. After you disappeared, his only focus was on his brother." I explained with a small shrug and Blaze’s frown deepened.

"Don’t start feeling guilty now, this wasn’t your fault. We weren’t able to have anything together because he doesn’t do well with emotions, that wasn’t his style and it just wasn’t something he knew how to handle, you know?" I explained and Blaze’s lips became pursed before he finally scoffed.

"So, that’s it? He was scared of falling in love?" He asked and I rolled my eyes before jabbing a hand into his side.

"Now, don’t act like it was easy for you." I pointed out and he snickered for a moment before draping his arm across my shoulder.

"You do have a point." He admitted as we rounded the corner, emerging before a series of doors lined beside each other.

"So, how do you guys want your rooms?" Raine asked as he glanced over at Blaze and I for a moment before returning her gaze to labyrinth and Kim.

"My mate and I would take a room." Blaze spoke up and his sister nodded before pointing towards the first door.

"You can have this. It’s fully furnished." She informed him before turning towards labyrinth.

"Darling labyrinth, please don’t hesitate to sound proof the room with your magic if you and my brother are gonna be fucking like rabbits in there." She informed him and I watched as labyrinth’s face instantly reddened, while Kim snickered in amusement.

Blaze was unfazed as usual as he rolled his eyes.

"Thank you for the good suggestion, dear sister. Trust that we’d actually be fucking like wolves in there." He jabbed at his sister who only rolled her eyes with a fond laugh, but labyrinth appeared very appalled and even frowned at his mate. However, after blaze closed the distance between them and tugged him into a hug, he practically melted into his arms.

They looked so good together, so in love and so... perfect.

I forced myself to look away and I scrubbed my hand across my face. I was the happiest person alive after labyrinth returned from his quest with blaze, the happiest aside from Labyrinth, and that was because I watched Labyrinth turn into a shell in the absence of his mate. I had never witnessed love like that before, especially on discovering that Blaze had been in mourning in the entire time of his absence, proving that the love he and his mate shared was one of a kind, one which was out of this world.

And it was something that I wanted. I never even realized I actually ever wanted something like that until after seeing two of my friends love so fiercely before my eyes.

Now, it was something I desired. But sadly, that was something that would instantly make Kim run for the hills.

"What about you guys?" Raine said, staring at me this time and then glancing over at Kim.

"Are you guys gonna be sharing a room as well?"

I wanted to instantly respond ’yes’ or ’why not’, but Kim beat me to a response.

"There are more than enough rooms here, no? I think it’s best if we get separate rooms." He quickly responded and I had to force myself to not appear disappointed on the outside.

"Separate rooms are fine." I added with a nod and a neutral expression on.

Raine glanced between Kim and I for a moment before nodding and clapping her hands.

"You can both take the rooms beside Blaze’s. And after you all settle in, please freshen up and come downstairs. We’re gonna have a big feast tonight to celebrate." She began to speak while glancing between the four of us. Blaze and labyrinth were still pressed against each other, like they couldn’t survive without getting to feel each other for a little while.

After a few more exchanges, she turned around and began to head down the hall when Blaze’s next words made her halt.

"You’re gonna introduce me to your significant other tonight as well, yes?" He asked and Raine bit on her bottom as she stared at him, and then she gave a tiny nod.

After she disappeared down the hall, Blaze stepped towards me and spoke.

"So, you and him are yet to fuck or anything? If he doesn’t want emotions, you can just have fun together." He explained and I shook my head, combing my fingers through my hair.

"Fucking is just gonna make things messy, so we refrained from that." I responded and Blaze hummed.

"And you’re okay with that?" He asked and I stared down at my hands, then at Kim who was speaking to labyrinth again.

"I guess so..." I finally responded, but I genuinely wasn’t sure I believed that.
