Blaze’s pov

I held labyrinth in my arms, still suspended in the air long after my uncle completely burned away. I felt like I was still in some sort of trance, after I got almost too hurt to move, when I watched my mate dodging all my uncle’s attacks, even though he handled it incredibly well, it didn’t stop me from feeling worried throughout the whole thing.

I was still hurt when my mate began to fall in the air, and that was what prompted me to ignore the pain and dive straight into the air to prevent him from falling.

The plan I got in that moment had been half baked but I was glad it ended up working out. I let out a long exhale, eyes darting around at the people crying out from relief and joy now that their king was no more.

Still in my arms, my mate began to move his hands around, using magic to control that fire tornado that had sucked in a good amount of the people. I wasn’t sure of what he actually did to it, but it soon began to dissolve and after a few minutes of his hands continuously glowing while he kept his eyes trained on the tornado, it slowly disappeared fully and the amount of people that had gotten sucked into it began to fall, but their fall ended up getting broken up by my mate making a trampoline thingy underneath them that prevented that.

They soon began to sing my mate’s praises along with mine, voice echoing loudly as they kept bowing over and over, crying from how grateful they were.

I ended up lifting a hand, a sign for them to stop.

I motioned my sister over, and she was still trying to help an injured person up from the ground when all eyes panned towards her.

Labyrinth easily slipped out of my arms and I inched forward, meeting my sister halfway. I took her hand and lead us forward till we were hovering directly over the clan members.

"I present to you guys, your new queen." I said firmly and everyone screamed for joy, hugging each other and tightly and exclaiming how happy they were about this. From listening to how happy they sounded, you could just tell this was something they’ve been look forward to since forever.

My sister who rarely shows emotions actually had tears in her eyes when she pulled me into a hug, holding me tightly against her while everyone cheered.

"Thank you so much, brother."

I held her tightly, heart feeling very light.

"Of course, always." I tell her as I pressed a kiss against the smaller horns in her head compared to mine.

She let out a watery laugh when she pulled away, and then she addressed the crowd while they all screamed their lungs off.

I went back to meet my mate so that my sister could address the crowd on her own, and my mate instantly noticed that I was still injured when I winced after his hand mistakenly touched my ribs.

We flew to solid ground and my mate instantly healed me up. As the pain slowly ebbed away, I decided that it was beyond cool to have a mate like this. Beyond cool, to be honest. It was almost hot to watch how he handled my uncle If I wasn’t so worried about him throughout.

As I shifted back into my normal form again, my mate instantly materialized clothes unto my body and I wagged my brows at him.

"You didn’t want anyone to see, huh?" I drawled but he only rolled his eyes, but the glint was very clear in his eyes

Roy draped his hand over my shoulder in the next moment, patting me fondly while exclaiming about how that fight had been something else.

"Why didn’t you change into your final form so fast though?" He asked and my mate leaned forward, clearly interested in my answer as well.

I shrugged a little, hand caressing the back of my neck because I instantly began to feel a little silly.

When I told them the reason, my mate only hugged me tightly and assured me that something like that would never repeat itself because now that he can use his powers, he’d fly along with me to wherever and make me remember him at all cost.

We were still speaking when my sister returned, looking extremely excited when she stopped before us.

"You guys aren’t leaving today, right?!" She asked, continuing before we could respond.

"I need to introduce you guys to a lot of people here. And Blaze, I think it’s high time you get introduced to your cousins. After what you guys did today, they are all very interested in meeting you and your mate. What happened today was actually something that was prophecied about five years ago. Even I didn’t see it coming today." She revealed and I felt shock consume me.

"Oh wow." I breathed out and she grinned with an eager nod.

"So, you’re all staying, yeah?"

I glanced at labyrinth and he nodded, and then I glanced at my sister.

"We’ll definitely stay then. Quick question though. How many cousins do we have?"

She laughed this time before responding. "A lot."

As she led the way down a large hallway, as i walked beside Roy, I nudged his shoulder and he had to pull his eyes off Kim’s eyes before focusing on me. Kim and my mate were walking with my sister and they were all in a conversation.

"So," I arched my brow at him. "What’s happening between you two?" I nodded at Kim as I asked the question.

Roy was silent at first before giving me a lazy shrug.

"Nothing."

I narrowed my eyes at him before nudging him again. "Oh, c’mon. Tell me what’s going on. Last I remember, you couldn’t wait to fuck him, and you actually... liked him. So, what’s holding you guys back?"

Roy exhaled slowly this time, lips thinning. It took a few moments for him to respond.

"Well, you’re right. I wanted him, I still do. But... he’s not interested."
