Jules’ pov

"It feels like ages since I last saw you." Roy said as he tugged me into a one handed hug after stepping forward. He didn’t hug Blaze as well and I had a feeling they’ve been seeing each other in Roy’s absence from this palace. Roy stepped backward and nodded at the boy who had quickly attached himself to his side.

"Guys, meet San." Roy spoke, introducing his partner to us. San grinned at us and waved politely.

"So..." I looked between the two of them before speaking.

"Are you two dating?"

Roy didn’t hesitate as he nodded. "Yup."

"Oh wow." I breathed out just as Blaze’s arm settled across my shoulders. His arm felt extra heavy and it felt like he was trying to communicate with me.

"That’s good." I ended up breathing out next. "You both look cute together." I added when what I wanted to ask was what had become of him and Kim.

I turned around to motion for Blaze that we continue heading to where we were previously headed to, but then at the side, Kim was standing right there, face blank and eyes intense and I swore underneath my breath.

Oh shit.

Kim saunterred forward and practically stepped right into Roy’s personal space.

"So... you’re alive." He blurted out, tone almost bored. But I knew better, and so did Blaze he snorted beside me right before I elbowed him.

Roy rolled his eyes and stepped backward, arms folded. "Yes, Kim. I am. Didn’t know you could notice something no one else could."

Kim let out a breathy giggle. If there’s something Kim’s really good at, it’s keeping up a very believable front.

"Oh don’t be such a bore, you used to have a better sense of humor before you suddenly... disappeared." Kim responded this time. He was backing us so we couldn’t see his facial expression, but Roy was currently frowning.

"Well, that’s the past me. I’m a changed being now." He snapped in response and Kim laughed again.

"Oh you’ve changed alright, we can all tell. So who’s this pretty thing on your arm? You latest collection added into your list of whores?"

Roy didn’t seem fazed like I expected. Instead, he pulled his supposed boyfriend against his side as he responded.

"As a matter of fact, this is my boyfriend. His name is San. Go on, say hello to him. Don’t be a rude little thing."

I exchanged a glance with Blaze.

At this point, it sounded like Roy and Kim were flirting.

Kim didn’t say hello like a normal person would. Instead, he walked closer to San and kissed him on the lips.

San was horrified, and he stared at Kim like he had grown to heads, while clinging tighter to a furious looking Roy.

"Why do you look so surprised? Isn’t that how we used to tell each other hello? You use to kiss me like that, go ahead and tell your little boyfriend that." Kim drawled in response and then he folded his arms and sighed.

"Please don’t tell me you forget how to take a joke while becoming a changed person." He lamented but Roy kept staring at him like he wanted to strangle him.

"Apologize to him." Roy demanded but Kim stepped closer to him and shoved his chest, voice suddenly filled with venom.

"How about you go fuck yourself instead?"

After that, he practically whirled around and disappeared down the ledge far ahead. Roy let out a long breath as he kept staring in the distance Kim disappeared in, till his boyfriend tugged on his arm.

"Who was that?"

Roy stroked the boy’s back.

"He’s just a friend, we have some... bad blood between us."

"Do you really use to kiss him?"

Roy’s jaw tightened for a moment before he shook his head.

"No, baby. I never did that. He was just messing with you."

"Did you know Roy was arriving today? And with a boyfriend?" I asked as Blaze and I approached the throne room and Blaze hummed, causing me to stop and glance at him.

"I didn’t tell you because you’ve been resting after your heat, remember? I was in contact with Roy throughout his absence here. He’s actually helping me look into a lot of things out there in the country. And I plan to discuss something important with you this evening."

"It concerns my father’s clan." He responded and the air whooshed out of me. I knew this was bound to come up anytime soon, but it still caught me off guard. Without realizing it, I began to hyperventilate, with only one thought echoing in my head.

Blaze was gonna leave me to go take over his rightful throne in the werewolf clan.

I kept breathing hard till Blaze cupped my face and pressed his lips against mine firmly, and then I slumped against his chest while breathing hard.

"You’re overthinking again." He clicked his tongue and I flushed a little.

"I’m sorry." I whispered but he kissed my head and tugged me into a hug that calmed most of my nerves almost immediately.

"No need to apologize, bunny. And whatever it is that you’re worrying your head off about, just keep in mind that we won’t ever be separated again. Okay?"

I exhaled slowly and nodded vigorously while relief flooded my veins.

"Okay." I finally breathed out and Blaze hummed, clearly pleased as he stroked my arms, right before he steered me in the direction of the throne room again.

"Now, why don’t we finally go in there? I prepared a present for you in there and I want to to see it." He continued and my eyes widened, heart instantly pounding against my ribs.

"Really?!" I demanded as we rounded the last corner needed and he hummed as he kissed my head again.

I hurriedly rushed forward just as the guards bowed right before they threw the large doors open, and at once, I instantly stumbled to a stop, because right in the throne room, all the council members were tied up and groaning in pains. My eyes widened and I instantly turned towards Blaze closed the doors before spreading his arms open.

"All your council members are trying to kill you." He announced and I’ve never been more shocked in my life before.
