First Legendary Dragon: Starting With The Limitless System-Chapter 77: Monstrous Genius
Chapter 77: Monstrous Genius
The examiner shook his head with a chuckle and continued the test, however, before he could call the next person, an assistant came and whispered something in his ear.
The man raised an eyebrow and looked directly at Orion. Then he gave a nod. "Candidate recommended by Master Eldric Helstorm—you may step forward and test next."
Arya paused in her steps, making Emilia nearly collide with her back. She quickly turned around and looked towards where the crowd was looking.
The entire crowd silently looked towards where Orion was standing. Spotting him, soft chatter immediately broke out among the crowd.
"Did he just say Helstorm?"
"Who the hell is that guy?"
"Isn’t Helstorm the house of that old couple who live on equal footing as Duke Houses?!"
"I heard they recently returned to the capital. So is he the reason for that?" fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
’Brother... Orion...’ Arya, on the other hand looked at him with a hint of happiness in her eyes before her expression quickly calmed down as she saw Emilia looking at her weirdly.
"Cough, he is the Grandson of Grandpa Eldric, who is a good friend of my Father. I want to see his results," she calmly said to Emilia.
Emilia nodded her head and curiously turned around to observe Orion.
He, on the other hand, ignored all of the crowd and calmly stepped onto the platform.
The assessors silently observed his actions, their eyes now filling with more than just academic interest after knowing his background. After all, Eldric and Selene were some of the most mysterious aristocrats of the kingdom.
No one knew where they came from or who they were. All of a sudden, one day, the King gave them a mansion in the second district without any explanation. Ever since then, all nobles have been extremely curious about them.
A lot of them even tried to form connections with them, but they refused all of the gifts and visits, only meeting with a few people, and all of them were on the same level as Dukes.
Orion gave a single glance towards the crowd before smirking towards Arya, ’Time to mark my entry in this world,’ he quietly thought and turned around to reach the orb.
The entire crowd paused, from students to teachers to even entities deeper within the academy. All of them focused here to see what was truly special about the one recommended by Eldric.
He took a deep breath and raised his hand. However, this gesture alone made the orb light up. His lips curled into a slight smile as he moved his hand closer and placed it on top of the crystal orb.
The moment his skin made contact—
BOOM.
The assessment orb flared to life with a dazzling, multicolored burst. It changed colors multiple times before stabilizing with four colors: Blazing Red, Greenish Brown, Holy White, and Cyan Blue.
Everyone’s breath stopped seeing the four elemental glows on the center of the orb. None of them thought someone with four elements would be born in their kingdom.
"HOLY FUCK!! Are those four elemental lights?" A student below lost their mind looking at the otherworldly display.
"Four elements... has there been someone like that in the history of our kingdom?" another student absentmindedly asked.
The four elemental lights converged on the Orb before lighting up the rings. One. Two. Three. Four. Five.
In one breath, it ignited five rings, making the crowd even more excited.
Arya looked at him with shocked eyes herself. Even she didn’t expect his talent to be so monstrous.
However, the light didn’t stop spreading, reaching the Sixth Ring. Emilia’s eyes narrowed as he reached her level so soon, and from the looks of it, this wasn’t the end.
And just as she had thought, the light expanded and quickly captured the Seventh Ring, reaching the same level as the Royal Princess of the Kingdom.
But before the crowd could cheer, the light expanded quickly towards the Eighth Ring, ’Stop!’ Orion inwardly shouted, urging Lumi to do her work.
The light abruptly halted as the disk began rapidly spinning, throwing off sparks of mana that crackled and hissed like thunderstrikes. All the surrounding instructors were on their feet, looking at Orion with wide eyes.
Even the entities deep within the academy drew sharp breaths, looking at the absurd potential of Orion.
However, before anyone could speak, a golden light emerged from the central orb, engulfing the whole testing platform in radiant glow.
The rings stabilized—then slowly rotated, each now etched with glowing dragon-like symbols.
One of the assessors stood frozen, then nearly stuttered out, "C-Candidate... Orion Helstorm. Mana Vessels: Eight. Mana Capacity: Supreme Tier. Affinity: Tier Five Light and Fire Affinity and Tier Four Wood and Wind Affinity. Please... step off the platform."
Orion calmly turned around and descended from the pedestal without speaking a word. The entire arena had gone dead silent.
’Ahh the protagonist treatment, I fucking love this,’ he inwardly thought with a smile as he descended from the pedestal and stood back in his spot.
The arena remained eerily silent for a heartbeat. No one moved. No one spoke.
Then—
the floodgates burst open.
"Eight Mana Vessels!? Are you kidding me!?"
"Four elemental affinities?! That’s not a genius—that’s a monster!"
"Did you see the golden glow? What the hell was that light?!"
"Holy shit, our kingdom didn’t gain a treasure but a whole fucking treasury with him," a crass young noble said with shining eyes looking at Orion.
Most of the common nobles were once again rather happy to have such a talent. And even the higher-tier nobles from Marquess and Duke Houses were happy to gain such a powerful ally. After all, the Helstorm House didn’t have any political power here and neither had they ever tried to enter someone’s territory.
So all nobles were rather happy with this mysterious bunch.
While the discussion continued among the nobles, a young girl clutched her fan tightly with wide eyes as she remembered what she saw. "Was that... dragon glyphs on the rings?"
A noble from an Earl House muttered to himself, "That’s not just a genius, that’s a fucking freak. An absolute monster among monsters."
Meanwhile, the instructors whispered among themselves at the podium.
"He surpassed the Princess," an assistant murmured under his breath.
An older teacher clicked his tongue. "Not only the Princess, he surpassed everyone who has enrolled in our academy."
The examiner looked at the teacher and asked, "Should we inform the dean?"
The old teacher waved his hand as if swatting a fly. "She has been watching it since the beginning."
Even some of the older instructors who had maintained calm expressions throughout the test looked visibly shaken.
One of them muttered under his breath, "He would bring a change, a change big enough to reshape the Kingdom."
The old teacher who spoke before nodded. "Yes, however, it depends on our teaching as teachers as to whether that change would be positive or negative."
The others agreed with him. After all, it was the duty of a teacher to shape the future of their students.

Further back in the crowd, some envious youths clenched their fists tightly.
"Hmph... let’s see how long that arrogance lasts in real combat."
"Tch... he’s nothing but a spoiled brat with... i-immense potential..." even he realized how absurd his words were at the end. He lightly exhaled and felt defeated inside.
However, not all were idiots. There were some calm people who saw Orion’s bearing.
"...He truly is something else. With such potential, even the Empires might be interested in him."
"Might? It’s only a matter of time until they invite him there."
Arya, on the other hand, took a deep breath to calm herself down. She didn’t expect to see such a display of power from Orion today. However, she didn’t hesitate further and directly walked towards Orion.
