Chapter 78: Chat With Arya

Emilia curiously looked at the back of Arya before quickly following her. The crowd parted ways as they both walked toward him.

The examiners quickly calmed down and began calling the next candidates. After all, it would be shameful if they let the others see their flustered expressions.

Orion felt someone approaching and softly turned his head. He softly smiled, looking at her calm expression. ’Oh? Finally here?’

Arya came and stopped in front of him. All the students stopped chatting and held their breaths, wondering what she would say to him.

"Brother Orion, would you mind coming with me for a second?" she said with an elegant voice.

The crowd silently looked at each other.

"Well, it’s not a surprise, I guess. The Helstorm House and the Royal House have been quite close since His Majesty’s generation."

"But I didn’t expect the princess to talk with him so directly."

"That’s our Princess for you. Would she be worthy if she was just some meek girl?"

The crowd continued to softly discuss the Princess among themselves.

[Kyaaaa! She is taking you with her, Master!]

Orion inwardly shook his head and calmly looked at Arya. "Let’s go somewhere more silent then. As for her..." His voice trailed off as he pointed at Emilia.

She raised an eyebrow and looked at him warily. She knew nothing about the nature of Orion; all she knew was that she had to defend her Princess at all costs.

Arya nodded her head. "She will come with me," she said, turning around and heading toward the exit of the Colosseum.

Orion looked at Emilia for a second before following after Arya.

’Now, don’t disturb me. Looks like the next part will be quite fun,’ he inwardly said to Lumi.

Emilia shook her head and followed after the two of them.

The surrounding students looked at their fading backs before turning back to look at the ongoing test.

However, there were also quite a few jealous gazes fixed on Orion’s back as he had such a close relationship with a member of the Royal Family.

But they couldn’t do anything for now, as it was the first day of the academy.

---

All three of them soon left the Colosseum and arrived at an empty park. Arya looked left and right to make sure no one was present.

She turned around and looked at Orion with a beaming smile on her face. "Brother Orion! I didn’t expect to meet you here today!"

She took a step closer to him and spoke with excited eyes.

Orion chuckled, seeing her excited expression. "Not the princess anymore?"

"Hmph, stop making fun of me." She pouted and turned her head to the side. "I need to keep up the pretense as the Daughter of the King and the Sole Heir to the throne. I can’t act casually in front of others."

Orion gently smiled, seeing her act like usual. He was fearing some bullshit plot about controlling parents might happen here, but his fears were unfounded. "Yes, yes, I understand. So you really didn’t know about me coming here?"

She turned her head back and nodded. "Yes! Mother and Father didn’t even tell me anything and just said to go join the academy."

He softly chuckled, hearing her words. "Grandpa and Grandma also didn’t tell me you would be coming here. Looks like all of them wanted to give us a surprise."

Arya repeatedly nodded her head. "You don’t know how relieved I am that I finally have another friend in the academy. I don’t want to stay with those stinky nobles, all of them are greedy."

’More greedy than a Dragon?’ Orion thought to himself in amusement. "Well, if anything, you are the biggest noble in the academy right now."

"Hmph, I’m not a nobility," she puffed her chest out and proudly said, "I’m Royalty."

"Hahaha," Orion burst out laughing in amusement. "Yes, right, royalty. So, Miss Princess, how do you like the treatment of everyone?"

Arya’s face instantly became downcast. "Haa... The pressure is too much on me. Everywhere I go, people look at me expecting some divine miracle."

Orion nodded his head in understanding. He could imagine how much pressure she would be under as the sole heir of the kingdom.

Emilia looked at Arya with both a surprised and sad expression. ’Is she really so close with him? She never spoke about him to me...’

"Are your parents putting pressure on you as well?" he asked.

Arya’s face blossomed into a smile. "Hehe, they love me the most. How can they put pressure on me?"

Orion nodded his head with a smile. "That’s good news at least."

"So anyway, Brother Orion, I didn’t expect you to be such a monstrous genius. I thought I would be able to surprise you here. But you surpassed my expectations."

He chuckled. "Well, you certainly surprised me. I didn’t expect you to be the Royal Princess. You didn’t even tell me that before."

Arya put her hand on her face and softly giggled. "That would have ruined the surprise. How could I have done that? Though your surprise was bigger. You have the potential to become the strongest in the entire kingdom or even beyond."

"I would need at least that much if I want to keep up with Your Royal Highness, right?" he smirked and said.

Arya softly smiled and motioned at her back. "She is Emilia, my personal bodyguard and my only good friend. You should get to know each other. I feel like you will spend a lot of time together."

Orion finally took a good look at her. She had azure blue hair and dazzling blue eyes with a spear in her hand.

She looked at him curiously and nodded her head in greeting. He nodded back and turned to look at Arya.

"Does she not have a storage ring? Why does she keep that spear with her?" he curiously asked.

Emilia’s eyebrow twitched hearing his question, but she didn’t say anything while Arya giggled.

"Hehe, nothing like that." She stopped laughing and softly explained, "She has her own storage ring, but she loves her spear so much that she keeps it with her all the time. She is quite a genius in the spear arts."

Orion nodded his head. ’So she is one of those fanatics who love their weapons.’

"Anyway, now that we are here, let’s go and explore the academy. The three of us can just skip the remaining test with our current scores," Arya happily said.

Orion raised an eyebrow. "You sure? I don’t mind flexing a bit more there."

[Master, the mission was already completed. I didn’t give the notification due to... her.]

’Oh? How many objectives did I finish?’ he quickly asked.

[Hehe, of course all three of them. You cleared the quest when you showed off your four elements.]

He nodded his head. ’Good, I don’t need to extend my head needlessly for others to take aim.’

"Yes, Brother Orion," she softly said with a mischievous smile on her face. "I’m sure. After all, would they dare to fail the Royal Princess, her royal bodyguard, and one of the most talented students in the history of the academy?"

Orion chuckled and nodded. He was sure none of the teachers or even the dean would refuse a student as top-tier as him.

However, on the other hand, Emilia looked at Orion warily. ’He has gotten far too close far too quickly with the Princess. He doesn’t have any other intention, right?’

Her spear softly hummed,

[I can sense great power within him. It would be unwise to make an enemy out of him.]

She narrowed her eyes, looking at his laughing face with the Princess. ’I need to make sure he isn’t a threat to the Princess. Even if I have to sacri–’

[Woah woah, stop there. I don’t sense malice from him, so at least you won’t die.]

The spear’s voice seemed to be that of a middle-aged woman.

[Really, I dominated the mainland for hundreds of years only to end up becoming this damn toothpick.]

Emilia paused her thoughts. ’...I still need to verify it myself.’

Orion and Arya began to walk toward the main building of the academy.

"This is really like a divine kingdom. I didn’t expect the academy to be so majestic," Orion heaved a sigh, looking at all the amazing scenes.

Not only were there a lot of floating platforms, he could also see many places for training or growing herbs. Basically, there were all kinds of facilities present here.

"Hehe, this academy is as old as our kingdom, Brother Orion. Or it might be even older. We only have records dating back to our kingdom’s founding," she said.

Orion nodded his head and looked around for a while, but just then he remembered the weird sensation he had felt during his entry into the academy.

He decided to enquire about that from Arya. "Oh, by the way, do you know what I felt while entering the Academy? I felt as if something scanned my entire body."

Arya’s expression turned serious. "Yes, Brother Orion. That device was put in place to find out the spies hidden within our race. We can’t take risks and let them enter the core area of our kingdom where geniuses gather."

Orion raised an eyebrow. He had expected something similar, but he didn’t think the guess would be so close to the mark.

"Are there other places with that device?" he asked.

Arya thought for a second. "Hmm, most of the major establishments in the kingdom have those devices. Especially those areas in the second ring. All of them are fortified with the latest devices to catch those demons."
