Glamour and Sass: A Rejected Bride's Revenge-Chapter 64: Medicine
Chapter 64: Medicine
The moment she said that, the entire room burst into an uproar.
Cecilia had her suspicions from the moment David’s name came up, so she contacted a private investigator to look into it. In return, the investigator quickly sent over a video of David partying at clubs, dancing, and handling cash.
David attempted to argue, "Who are you, spouting nonsense like this?!"
Cecilia played the video on her phone for everyone to see.
"Whether it’s nonsense or not, everyone can judge for themselves."
Everyone rushed to watch the video. In it, David was holding a bottle in one hand and grabbing his tank top with the other, shouting out at the top of his lungs.
"Yo, yo, heat up, everybody!"
His following actions in the video were even more embarrassing for anyone to watch.
Furious, David reached out to grab the phone, However, Cecilia swiftly dodged and left him empty-handed.
"Dr. David, you spend every day in the bar, and you don’t go out to check on a single patient. Isn’t that right?"
"People like you are a disgrace to the medical field!"
As Cecilia had hit the nail on the head, David gritted his teeth and replied, "They came to me with money willingly. Without me, they wouldn’t be able to survive!"
As he spoke, he looked at Wynne.
"Mr. Whitmore, only I can treat your father’s illness, right?"
Wynne had long despised Dr. David. However, his words weren’t entirely wrong; his father’s illness couldn’t be delayed any longer...
Cecilia scoffed and looked at Wynne.
"May I ask, what disease does your father have?"
She didn’t believe it. Even Evan himself wouldn’t make such a bold claim; what could an old quack like this do?
Wynne sighed.
"Lung disease."
Her eyes lit up at his words.
There really was no need for Evan here; her own remedy was originally designed for lung disease. However, as medicine advanced, the formula had gradually been used mainly for clearing the lungs.
This was the perfect opportunity to prove to everyone that her medicine was truly effective.
"No problem, just leave it to me."
Dr. David was taken aback by her words, then burst into laughter.
"You really have no idea of your own limitations... "
Wynne politely replied, "Miss, thank you for your kindness, but my father..."
Cecilia said nothing more, continuing to check her phone. After finding the latest message, she smiled.
"They’re here!"
She waved toward the door, and the expert who had received the prescription rushed over.
She took the medicine box from him and opened it.
Fantastic!
The expert had told her before that while the medication’s powdered form made room for better absorption, it was inconvenient to carry. So, he had changed it into the form of a pill while keeping its maximum effectiveness. Now, people could just chew and swallow it without water.
He also improved the reaction time; just one of these pills was enough to provide immediate results.
Elena looked at the pill hesitantly. "Will this work?"
Cecilia nodded.
"This pill is made from the same medicine we used to treat you. To be honest, both my mom and grandma have used it. It’s sort of a family secret."
Dr. David dismissed it with a laugh, "What a charade."
Cecilia ignored him and spoke to Wynne.
"Lung disease is hereditary in your family, right? You probably have it as well. You’re still young, so you only need one pill. If you trust me, just try it now."
Wynne was surprised; only the Whitmore family knew of this. How could she know? Would she really be able to cure both him and his father?
Looking into her sincere eyes, he weirdly felt reassured. After thinking for a moment, he picked up the pill.
Then, he quickly put it into his mouth.
Five minutes later, he opened his eyes. After taking a glance at the curious onlookers, he announced the result.
"It’s really... It’s better."
The refreshing feeling in his lungs assured him that it really worked.
With these words, the room erupted with excitement.
"She actually developed this medicine!"
Dr. David looked at Cecilia in disbelief.
"Who... who on earth are you?"
"Cecilia Morrison."
As she finished speaking, she failed to notice Wynne’s eyes darkening suddenly.
Wynne moved to a corner, frowning.
After she finished explaining the whole story to Elena and James, Warner approached her with a grin.
"Could you sell me some of that medicine?"
In the construction materials industry, his workers also couldn’t escape occupational diseases. He had spent a lot to keep it under wraps and maintain a clean public image.
Cecilia sneered, "Sure."
At her reply, he looked pleasantly surprised.
"However, you will have to sell me your company for thirty million, then we can talk."
No, Warner’s face turned sour as if he had swallowed a fly.
On the other hand, Cecilia noticed that Wynne had already moved to the corner.
She followed him. Steven’s eyes had been on her all along, and seeing her concern for Wynne made him uncomfortable.
He was about to walk over when his phone vibrated, making him glance down. He had just received a picture of Cecilia’s daughter, Emma.
