Glamour and Sass: A Rejected Bride's Revenge-Chapter 72: Fake Invitation
Chapter 72: Fake Invitation
"Emma, the car is here."
Cecilia quickly interrupted Emma before she could say "my mommy."
After all, she didn’t want to reveal her identity. The less trouble, the better.
She had distracted Emma successfully, with the child excitedly greeting Edwin, who had just arrived.
"That’s great!"
Ethan was puzzled. Seeing Emma’s casual demeanor, he thought she was just speaking nonsense and didn’t care further.
"Since your car is here, I’ll go ahead first."
Cecilia nodded, looking at the conspicuous "KAKA" signature on the car, and couldn’t help but ask, "How much is this signature worth?"
Seeing her interest in his car, Ethan looked proud.
"30 million. I waited quite a while for this signature. It looks cool, right?"
She raised an eyebrow. "Not bad."
Ever since returning to the country, she hadn’t followed racing news for a long time. Who knew her fake signature would pop up?
‘However, selling it for 30 million doesn’t hurt my pride. Pitiful Ethan, an example of a classic rich and gullible young master.’
"It’s not just ’not bad,’ it’s super cool..."
Cecilia didn’t want to hear Ethan keep blabbing, so she glanced at her watch.
"If I’m not mistaken, you should have something important to do, right?"
Ethan looked at his watch and turned pale with shock.
‘Oh no! I almost missed Alex’s class.’
He quickly got in the car and left.
"See you later, little niece!"
After Ethan left, Cecilia and Emma headed straight to Arleston School. However, they unexpectedly ran into Mary and Alice at the school gate, with a middle-aged man in black-rimmed glasses standing in front of them.
Obviously, the trio also saw her and Emma.
Mary smiled and waved the interview invitation in her hand.
"What are you doing here? Be careful; they might see you as irrelevant and kick you out."
With that, she glanced at the man in glasses in front of her.
"Isn’t that right, Director Winston?"
Winston adjusted his glasses and observed Cecilia and Emma up and down.
Cecilia often dressed comfortably and casually, and Emma wore whatever she felt like, so they did seem rather plain today.
Although their presence was hard to ignore, in a school like this, both children and parents were either wealthy or influential. It wasn’t really because of the children, but rather the parents, eager to outshine one another with their displays of status. Many dressed up not merely for the sake of appearance, but to subtly court favor from the teachers, some even donning outfits more suited for a grand banquet than a school event.
Those without such attire were likely just there to stir up trouble, looking for wealthy people to blend in.
Winston considered himself exceptionally skilled at judging people and decided Cecilia lacked wealth, raising his head slightly.
"Yes, our school’s priority is the safety of students and parents; no unauthorized personnel are allowed."
Cecilia frowned. How did someone like him end up as the director of this school?
Emma pouted and took out their interview invitation.
"We’re not unauthorized! We’re here for the interview!"
Mary was stunned before snatching Emma’s invitation and comparing it with hers, showing a disdainful smile.
"Your invitation is fake! How audacious, causing trouble at Arleston. Do you know all of Arleston’s shareholders are big shots? Any of them can prevent you from enrolling in Star City forever!"
Emma yelled, "It’s not fake!" ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
Mary handed Emma’s invitation to Winston.
"It is fake. Director Winston will know at a glance."
Winston took a look at the invitation and tore it in half.
"It’s truly a fake one. We will hold legal accountability from you due for forging Arleston’s interview invitation. Someone come, take them to the police!"
Mary looked at Cecilia triumphantly, while Emma got scared and cried at the mention of the police.
A fierce gleam flashed in Cecilia’s eyes. She stared at Winston, enunciating each word.
"This is your last chance; apologize to my daughter!"
Winston snorted coldly. "Take action!"
Watching the four security guards approach, Cecilia clenched her fists and rotated her wrists.
Suddenly, an authoritative voice rang out.
"I dare anyone to try."
