Chapter 73: Shareholders

Everyone looked in the direction of the voice and showed respectful expressions.

"Principal."

The person called the principal was an authoritative elderly lady with silvery hair, who looked about seventy years old.

Mary’s eyes lit up, and she stepped forward quickly.

“Principal, I caught someone forging an Arleston interview invitation letter for you. How would you like to handle it?”

In her pride, she assumed she had resolved a troublesome matter for the principal and hurriedly sought credit. After all, compared to Winston, the principal held more power. She could, by chance, even get Alice to skip the interview and enroll directly if things worked out.

But unexpectedly, the principal bypassed her and approached Cecilia with a gentle tone.

"You must be Cecilia. This is your daughter, Emma?"

Cecilia nodded.

The principal smiled.

"Welcome, Emma, to Arleston. Follow me to complete the enrollment process."

At these words, aside from Cecilia and Emma, everyone else was stunned.

Winston looked a bit puzzled and asked, "Principal, isn’t this against the rules? She doesn’t even have an interview invitation..."

Upon hearing him mention the invitation, Emma pointed at the invitation on the ground indignantly.

“We had an invitation, but you tore it up!"

The principal looked at the invitation on the ground before looking at Winston with an inquisitive gaze. He hurriedly explained.

“I... Their invitation was fake, so I...”

She said coldly, “Look again carefully.”

Frightened by her tone, he broke into a cold sweat. He picked up the invitation from the ground and scrutinized it. Suddenly, he spotted something that made his eyes widen.

“No... Impossible!”

He turned to her.

“Principal, it was my mistake, you...” frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

However, she ignored him and turned to Cecilia.

"Today, Arleston has wronged you. Whatever you want to do with him, we have no objections whatsoever."

Cecilia frowned. Keeping such people in the school would only corrupt the children and become a blight on the industry.

She spoke coldly, "Dismiss him."

The principal said nothing, only signaling with her hand before someone immediately began to handle the matter.

Then, she led Cecilia and Emma into the school.

Winston removed his glasses with a face of despair.

"It’s over... It’s over..."

Mary was puzzled. "What’s wrong with that invitation?"

“That invitation is specially made for shareholders, which is why it looks different from ordinary ones. With it, you can basically walk straight into the school."

Mary was astonished, not expecting that Cecilia had this up her sleeve.

But now that Winston was dismissed, what about her and Alice’s matters...

“But the invitation you gave me can still be used, right?”

Winston shook his head.

"All the work I’ve conducted in the last month before leaving will be nullified."

Mary began to panic, grabbing his arm.

“Aren’t there any pins you have? My uncle and aunt said that the pin can be used directly..."

Before she could finish, he shook his head again.

Now, she finally understood everything.

How could a mere director have such a pin? For years, he had created the illusion of possessing one to attract dedicated parents like her uncle and aunt, who would offer him benefits. In return, he would use his authority to get their children an interview spot.

After all this time, this man was just a fraud!

Meanwhile, Cecilia took Emma for a tour around the school with the principal. Feeling satisfied with everything, they quickly completed the enrollment process.

Emma was thrilled with her new uniform and backpack.

‘Great! I can go to school like my brother!’

The principal looked at the adorable Emma, unconsciously smiling.

"By the way, Miss Morrison, would you like to bring your daughter for an admission assessment? If she meets a certain standard, she can join our school’s elite training program."

Cecilia looked at Emma and shook her head. She had learned about the elite training class before coming. The children in that class were either extraordinarily smart or talented in certain areas. In fact, those who came out of that class were all heirs of prominent families who had promising futures to their names.

Based on Emma’s level, she could easily pass the assessment. However, Cecilia didn’t want her daughter to study in such a pressured environment and turned down the principal’s proposal.

“No. I don’t want her in that class, nor do I want other students and parents to know her identity. Please keep it confidential.”

The principal nodded, indicating her understanding.

Emma listened and nodded firmly. “Don’t worry, Mommy!”

By the time they returned home from school, it was nighttime. Cecilia held Emma’s sleeping form, lost in thought.

Time really flew by quickly. The small, sweet little girl from before had now grown up enough to start going to school.

She had done her best to protect Emma’s childhood, but now Alex would be growing up under Steven’s strict guidance. She wondered where he studied now and whether he was tired...

She missed her son.

Thinking of this, she took the initiative to call Steven.

Steven answered immediately.

"Miss Morrison?"

His tone showed clear surprise. After all, it was the first time she had called him proactively.

She felt a bit awkward for a moment.

No matter which way she thought about it, calling someone else’s son in the middle of the night would look strange.

After hesitating a moment, she spoke up.

"Do you have time for a meal tomorrow?"
