HDXD: Omni Harem System-Chapter 47: Black Wing Angel II
Chapter 47: Black Wing Angel II
Kiera’s vision blurred, the edges of her world swallowed by a suffocating darkness. Pain radiated from the gaping wound where her arm had once been, but even that was beginning to dull.
Her body was shutting down.
Her breathing came in ragged gasps, every inhale burning her lungs as she lay helpless in the dirt.
The Antmen loomed over her, their mandibles clicking hungrily, their chitinous bodies twitching with excitement. Their soulless, beady eyes reflected her broken form; to Kiera, they were the pinnacle of evil, but to the Antmen, they just saw a well-catch meal.
She could hear them, scraping against the ground, surrounding her, their grotesque bodies shifting around in unison.
Nyla was unconscious beside her, her tiny body limp, her severed limbs still leaking blood. Kiera tried to move, tried to crawl toward her sister, but her strength had long since abandoned her.
It was safe to say Kiera had no idea if she was even still alive.
Her vision wavered, the night sky above twisting into a dizzying mess of neon clouds mixed with the miasmic hue of the Paffora forest.
"...Ahhh heeeehshh... Ahee...eh....
She groaned and groaned, her insides burning due to the Antmen poison flooding her veins.
’No... not like this...
She said to herself, her body has given up, but her soul has not.
’Not like this.’
But fate was cruel.
No one had come to save them before.
No one was coming now.
This was how their story ended, devoured in the dirt, forgotten like the rest of their clan, who met a similar end.
Tears mixed with the blood and grime plastering her face. Her chest heaved with each ragged breath, her body trembling as the Antmen closed in.
Her eyes started to close, slowly, her world view distorted, even the sound of the world was starting to slowly fade.
However... At the last moment, something in her view had changed; she blinks while laying on her back, her gaze fixed on the sky.
"Haaa?!"
She said, in weak confusion.
The air around her shifted, a sudden weight pressing down on the ground below where they lay. It was heavy...like the sky itself was collapsing on everything below.
Kiera barely had the strength to lift her head, but she saw it.
A shadow against the night.
A child.
He descended from above, black wings spread wide, casting an overwhelming darkness over the battlefield. He did not stop at the ground, rather, he stayed fixed in the sky. His movement was weird; it was like he was standing on air itself.
His entire form was clad in black, a ghostly figure against the neon-lit sky of the Monster World. Like his wing, he wore an outfit consisting of black feathers like his beautiful pair of wings. His face was young, far too young, but his presence... freēwēbηovel.c૦m
It was suffocating.
Behind him, the air shimmered.
Hundreds...no, thousands of small silver magic circles hovered in perfect formation, filling the sky like celestial bodies.
Kiera’s breath hitched; her eyes were open wide, but her vision was a little bit blurry as well.
Was she hallucinating?
She wondered.
Was this the fever dream of a dying girl?
Or was this some fallen angel come to drag her into the afterlife?
However, soon after, her delusions were proven wrong because in the next instant, what happened next would forever be a memory engraved into her.
The Antmen screeched in unison, their antennae twitching violently as if sensing something. No! They could sense it...a horrific shift from above, which was normal before now; however, they can only sense death from above, which was an overwhelming power forming above their beings that had descended upon them from out of nowhere. Their chittering grew erratic, uncertain.
Truly, at this moment, they felt fear.
Not much was said; no words needed to be said. Action was the only thing shown this night.
The child that was above everyone began to look down with cold eyes as if judging all that was below him... he did not express anything in that moment, no introduction, no reason, no emotions, no hesitation, or was there any care in his actions whatsoever.
Unmove was the best way to describe him at this very moment.
He began to raise his left hand slowly upwards, and soon too, a mere finger.
And as if to tell the world itself were to attack, he pointed only a vague finger towards everything below, and that was all confirmation that the silver magic circles behind him needed to unleash their fury upon the surrounding landscape.
As they all began to glow brightly like lesser stars.
And what happened after that...well... Hehehe... Kiera could only describe the event that took place right before her eyes in this very moment was that the world above began to collapse upon everything below that boy’s floating form.
Were she saw an unreachable figure, it was like to him; everything below was nothing more than mere bugs that could be crushed at any given moment or time if he so willed it to be.
Like a human looking down on an insignificant nest of ants with with bucket of boiling soapwater.
And that might as well be the truth, because her description was no further from the truth’ because in the next moment, it was as if the heavens themselves had decided to fall, and the sky cracked in multiple sonic booms... explosions shook the world below from above, as an invisible series of heavy force began slamming into the earth with cataclysmic power.
Constructs of air barriers took the form or invisible air staff’s compress to be heavy, coded to shoot without end, until either his Air Astrum ran out, or until he was satisfied with the destruction he was about to bring.
And so said, so done, because they all fired at the speed of sound.
BOOOOOOOM!!
The ground beneath the Antmen crumbled instantly.
Bodies flattened, exoskeletons shattered, mandibles snapped under the sheer force of high-speed air pressure. It wasn’t an explosion, no fire, no blinding light...just an invisible, crushing pressure that turned the battlefield into a slaughterhouse.
Like taking a giant hammer and smashing the ground with all your might.
Kiera barely felt the shockwave.
It wasn’t aimed at her, nor was it aimed at her sister.
She was inside some kind of invisible barrier, a thin, translucent force that protected her and Nyla.
But outside of it... outside was pure, unfiltered annihilation.
The Antmen didn’t stand a chance.
Hundreds were crushed in an instant, their bodies pulverized into blackened mush. The earth trembled beneath the sheer force, cracks spiderwebbing outward as large cut of the enviroment itself had taken damage.
The child hovered in the air, his wings flapping once, twice, his expression unreadable.... As he watched his onslaught kill everything below, even if it was dead, if he felt that it was not dead enough, he would not, nor did he plan to stop anytime soon.
This went on for six minutes straight.
Until there was only a massive 300-meter crater, both in depth and width. Meanwhile, only a piece of rock floated in the chaos.
And then... silence fell over the battlefeild.
What remained of the Antmen was unrecognizable.
Flattened corpses, shattered remains, twitching limbs that had been torn from their bodies. The scent of stinky Antmen blood filled the air, thick and sickly.
It was complete devastation.
Kiera could barely process it.
Her mind was foggy, her body growing colder by the second, but she forced herself to look at him.
The black-winged child.
Her lips trembled, her voice barely above a whisper, as he floated just above them, looking at them while scratching his head.
"Who... who are... you?"
