Chapter 49: Wait What?!

Adam began to float downwards toward the twins, stopping just slightly above them, his wings folding neatly behind his back as he stood on the air. The red-haired girl, Kiera, had a twin ponytail design. Looking at her from where he stood, it kind of reminded Adam of Priscilla minus the drills, of course, but nevertheless, her body stirred slightly with each passing second, pain overtaking it.

And her breathing was shallow, but she was still very much alive albeit barely. Her golden nocturnal eyes fluttered open, dazed and unfocused.

The moment she saw him standing over her, she stiffened.

Her lips trembled, her voice weak.

"Who... who are... you?"

She asked.

After all, the Antmen were one thing, but a fallen angel child was another... if that is what he really is, of course. After all, from what she knew, personally, fallen angels were one of the strongest Monster species one could find in the Monster World, and from what she knew, they are beings that are heavily feared due to how unapologetically overpowered they are, so her concerns were valid here.

But given her current state, she might as well be dead.

Adam glanced down at her, tilting his head slightly. He did not say anything, but it was the first time he had seen a wolf girl up close like this.

Seeing them like this, or rather seeing this one girl like this, she was trembling. freewёbnoνel.com

And to rub salt on the wound, the System said.

『She appear frightened, Master... Suggestion: Be more caring』

The System said jokingly, and Adam replied mentally.

’No shit Sherlock... either way, True Anima, probally made that fear even more promient, lucky though, my actions can go between good and bad depending on how they interpret it...but that aside, I dont want this first meeting to be a sour one.’

Adam said as he moved forward, his focus on the two injured girls.

He then landed on the ground right beside them and said, essentially replying to

"Don’t worry, I’m just here to help."

Adam’s voice was calm, steady, despite the heavy atmosphere. Kiera flinched slightly at his words, her golden feline eyes locking onto his with a mix of fear and confusion.

She was barely holding onto consciousness, her breathing uneven, her body trembling from both shock and blood loss.

Without waiting for her to respond, Adam shifted his left hand.

A cold, dark aura enveloped it as his flesh, as a familar manifest as it went downwards, withering his flesh away, revealing the skeletal structure beneath with weird runes engraved in the bone structure.

However, right after activating Negative Touch, Adam soon began to activate Positive Touch.

A warm, golden glow bloomed across his palm. Life and death, two opposing forces of magic, coexisted within him, albeit at a lesser level.

"This might feel weird... don’t worry, it just means that my magic is doing the trick... The Pain will soon fade; just hang in there."

Adam said in a cute but monotone voice, given he was still just a child, but alas, they were gentle, as they were reassuring.

With that said, he touched Kiera’s stomach, and repurposed life-force started to flood her entire body.

Kiera’s breathing hitched as she felt something foreign seep into her body, a strange warmth replacing the pain that had numbed her mind.

It wasn’t a gentle kind of warmth; it was overwhelming, like a tidal wave of lukewarm firl crashing into her from within. Her body shuddered involuntarily, her muscles tensing, her bones creaking as new tissue rapidly formed where her arm used to be.

I didn’t hurt, but it was very uncomfortable and hard to describe.

Her claws dug into the dirt as her body convulsed slightly, the sudden influx of vitality almost too much for her frail state to handle. She gasped, eyes wide in panic, unable to comprehend what was happening.

"A-Ah.... What!!...

Adam sighed, his grip firm but careful.

"Relax... It’s just your body adjusting."

Kiera barely heard him.

Her mind was overwhelmed by the sensation of something flowing through her veins, something alive, in the sense that she could feel something crawl into every part of her being...as if an entirely foreign force had entered her against her will.

And in a way, it had.

Moments later, where there was once only a bloody, rigid stump, a new arm took form.

And fully functional at that.

Kiera panted, her chest rising and falling rapidly as she stared at her hand, flexing her fingers in disbelief. Her eyes then snapped back to Adam, a look of awe and desperation flashing across her face.

Her mind only thinks of one person at this time.

"P-Please... Nyla...

Adam raised a brow, confused as he said.

"What?"

"Please... heal my sister too, Mr. Fallen Angel."

Her voice was weak but insistent. She tried to push herself up, but her body was still exhausted, her arms trembling under the effort. She looked at Adam with wide, pleading eyes.

"I-I’ll do anything, just...

Adam, however, just groaned at this, cutting her off as he said.

"First of all, you’re technically older than me. I’m just five years old, you know, so please don’t call me Mr."

He held up a hand before she could process that absurd statement.

"Second, I’m not a fallen angel. I’m from the Shinso family...the family your clan works for and serve... I am here because Minerva sent me."

Said Adam, causing a vivid silence to follow.

Kiera blinked, once...then twice... her ears twitching.

Her breath hitched slightly as the words sank in.

"Y-You’re from the Shinso family?"

She asked, almost whispering, as if saying it out loud would make it more real.

"Yeah... What about it? You look like someone told you a great lie or something."

Kiera, however, just blinked again, still trying to process things as she said, no ask.

"The Shinso family? The sixth family of the Thirteen Great Monster Families... like, are you actually from that family?"

Her voice grew more frantic, her confusion mounting.

"The family ranked last place because it’s so small that it barely qualifies as one, but it’s still acknowledged because every single member in it is a Shinso existence...a monster of the highest evolution of their race... like you are from that family, right?"

Adam nodded casually.

And the just replied.

"Yes... that same very Shinso Family.... The Name Adam Novel’s... but that is my independent name... offically I am Shinso Adam, 6th and youngest member of the Shinso Family."
