Chapter 59: Authorials

The moment Adam flew onto the bridge, following the twins like an extra tail, he flinched.

A soft chime echoed in his mind, followed by the familiar voice of a mature woman. It was the System, and she began to speak, saying as such.

『Master... I can sense one of your DLC items nearby』

Adam’s breath got caught in his throat as he said inwardly.

’A DLC item? Here?’

He asked... after this was big, as it was shocking news, as he was not expecting to run into one so quick, nor was he pursuing any at the moment.

As such, he had to confirm the exact location, saying as such.

’Where is it, System?’

To which the System answered.

"One and a half mile up ahead."

’I see... Hahaha.... well let’s hurry towards it then.’

Adam said with a wide smile on his face.

To say he was in a good mood would be an understatment, however, he soon asked, flapping his wings, with glee.

’By the way... which item are we talking about here, by the way?’

The moment he asked that, the answer came swiftly.

『Blood of Allash』

However, the moment Adam heard that, Adam froze in shock, his heart beating fast with excitement, as he said.

A was but a single name, yet it carried immense weight, for the main reason, this was a special DLC item in HDXD itself.

He knew this item because this was a cheat item that made the game the literal definition of "I am not stuck in here with you all, but you all are stuck in here with me" kind of power-up.

Any HDXD player who bought the DLC to power up the protagonist early would recognize it instantly.

It was not your usual extra weapon or unique perk; rather, it was an item that allowed you to join a legendary bloodline.

And now, this very bloodline was within his reach.

But this begs the question, what makes the Blood of Allash so special, and why do many people spend over 30$ just to get it in the original game?

The answer to that was rather simple.

Allash was no ordinary figure.

You see, in the world of HDXD, there existed beings that were known as Authorials.

Simply put, it referred to someone from any race who was favored by an existing concept by virtue of being the first of that race to establish that immutable idea in said race’s historical existence.

In the original HDXD, concepts existed long before the material world. Before anything physical took shape, there was only the immaterial, and from it, material existence emerged.

For that reason, Authorials are any existing beings that are considered apostles of that concept; henceforth, they can use powers that revolve around it or rather wish for any abilities as long as it is in relation to the concept they represent.

In Allash case... He was the first human to understand war.

The first to wage it.

The first to master it.

That realization had elevated him beyond mortality, granting him power that revolved around the very concept of war itself.

For example, Allash was so powerful in the original game that he could do things like...

If he declared war on someone, he could kill them instantly, no matter their strength, as long as he won whatever war he declared upon you.

He could teleport to any battlefield, past, present, or future.

He could sense every war before it even began.

His power was absolute, his only match was other Authorials, or the very idea itself, his presence unstoppable in the original HDXD, the only reason he died was because a higher being that mere Authorial killed him, which was a literal idea itself.

That being father Chaos himself.

But what made his blood so special was the fact that his blood carried a fragment of that overwhelming authority he had over the concept of war.

’Sigh... Truly his blood is treasure; it is because of this blood that even without the DLC version of it, Xeres was absolute unit.’

Xeres, the protagonist of the original visual novel, had acquired this bloodline early on, making him a combat genius, a tactical prodigy, and a natural-born warrior.

In the original HDXD, when Allash first met Xeres, he was on the brink of death. Demon Duke Salthian Gremory had razed his village to the ground, leaving nothing but ashes and ruin.

Xeres had been the only one bold enough to stand against her.

But Salthian didn’t kill him.

No!!

Instead, she let him live, after slaughtering his family before his eyes, crushing his ideals of strength, and proving just how powerless he truly was. And as the final, most twisted insult, she claimed the body of his childhood friend, Marika, turning her into a vessel for her own power.

It was in that moment, broken and bleeding, that Allash appeared...and offered him his blood, and that was how the prologue of HDXD ended.

The Blood of Allash didn’t just enhance strength.

It made its wielder unstoppable among their peers when it came to the art of war.

Faster... Smarter... Stronger... and Deadlier.

And if Allash were ever to die, in the off chance that is, his full power would pass on to the strongest of his children.

But his eccentric nature led to the creation of some of the most overpowered characters in the game. Those who drank his blood became known as Monarchs, beings blessed by war itself, their strength unrivaled.

In the original HDXD, there were six Monarchs of War, aside from the main character. And among them, two were romantically involved with him. But their routes? They were some of the hardest in the entire game.

One wrong move, and you were headed straight for a bad ending.

Emilia, a Mafia Boss, who is destined to dethrone Asmodeus, the Demon King of Lust

Emilia, the cold-blooded Mafia Boss, is destined to dethrone Asmodeus, the Demon King of Lust. A crazy Yangire who was as deadly as she was alluring.

And then there was Skylar. Outgoing, wild, but emotionally unstable. A normal human girl with an Anthem powerful enough to end the world itself.

So it was safe to say that getting involved with them was like walking a tightrope over a pit of knives. One misstep, and it was all over.

But the question is, how are these Monarchs even born?

Well simple.

Allash has a habit of leaving his blood in the most random of places, as it passively calls out to those who are worthy of it.

Simply put, he lets fate decide who his blood chooses.

Only in rare cases, like with Xeres, the main character, does he willingly grant it himself.
