Chapter 79: Past Life
"Hmm, nice... It seems to work just fine."
Adam’s voice echoed off the walls, as he was clearly satisfied with himself in this moment, so much so, he was a little smug as he admired the results of his spell.
Although it was also a petty display of retribution on Adam’s end, as this action of his has pissed off a certained gaged vampire male who could only watch on as Adam defile his body in his own twisted fashion.
I mean, who wouldn’t be mad after getting their head cut off be a kid, and said kid then disrespected their body further by genderbending it through some mysterious means.
And the worst part of it all was the fact that all they could logically do in the situation they found themself in was watch as that injustice happened live before their eyes, as they could not move, much less talk.
To make this petty display even worse, Adam now had full control over Sunny’s former body.
And he intended to put this to good use.
Because in his place was... well, a naked woman. A very naked, very curvy woman, draped in Sunny’s cloak that didn’t even begin to fit her new frame. The thing hung loosely around her shoulders like someone had tossed a tablecloth on a statue. Honestly, it was kind of tragic.
Adam frowned at the sight; as it was half-assed, it was not a good look at all. freewebnσvel.cѳm
And if there was one thing he couldn’t stand, it was leaving something half-assed. So with a roll of his eyes, he stepped forward and yanked the cloak off her body entirely.
"Alright, this isn’t gonna work."
He muttered, tossing the cloth aside.
As if responding to his frustration, the feathers on his back rippled. A single, black wing sprouted out, then started to dismember itself, each feather peeling off, floating gently through the air like they had a mind of their own.
And, in the next instance, dozen of his black feathers wrapped around the woman’s pale body, weaving together a new outfit for her, using just his feathers alone. In less than a minute, a dress bloomed around her form... It was an elegant-looking one, dark, and a little too extra for something he came up with on the fly.
It hugged her waist, flared around her hips, and left enough skin on display in some areas while still giving her that gothic vampire vibe.
Honestly? It was not bad looking at all.
Adam tilted his head as he began to walk around the woman to see if it fit her perfectly. It was like dressing a giant doll, meanwhile, the voice in his head was going off like crazy.

B.O.W. was not pulling Cecil’s leg, for every ounce of humiliation it senses from him to point he start to question his own worth, it steals from him mercilessly, taking away his importance slowly, moment by moment.
His past feats and experiences, everything that made him who he was, to be the him that existed in the now. And everything that was promised to him, meant for him in the future of his story, all that was being taken away, and once his worth is drained dry, he will be nothing, his existence, his life story will fall under the box rule.
His form, his body, his thoughts, everything that makes him well him, will be usurped by B.O.W.
That aside, though, after gauging what he wanted to gauge, he nodded his head in satisfaction as he said.
"Okay, I am not a fashion designer or anything, but that is... way better than the tarp you had on earlier."
From there, she soob began to sit up slowly, moving like someone learning how to walk for the first time...or maybe someone who hadn’t felt alive in centuries. Her red eyes, void of emotion, locked onto Adam’s face.
Looking at him curiously.
That was the downside of [Recall Oblivion]. It brought a person back, but not quite whole in the sense of emotions. It merges the old life with fragments of the current one. And what came out the other side was a loyal, obedient... and eerily numb to the world servant.
Adam studied her for a beat, curious despite himself.
If the Codex was right, then this creation of his should be intelligent and capable of handling complex orders.
To test this fact, Adam soon began to engage in a conversation with his newly made servant, as he asked it.
"So... how do you feel?"
He asked while looking up at her.
Her eyes went down on the tiny boy, as she said.
"Who... who are you? And where am I? Mon Dieu, how am I alive...? Did I not die... after being beheaded?"
She asked in a flat voice, to which Adam replied.
"A little confused, are we?"
He replied to the woman standing before him as he began to explain.
"Well, it’s nice to meet yah, stranger."
Adam said as he grinned at the woman.
"And before you ask again...yeah, you’re long dead... Real dead... Like, centuries has past kind of dead."
He shrugged, then continued in that same casual, too-honest tone of his.
"How is this possible, though?"
She asked, and Adam responded as such.
"I brought you back via the use of necromancy. So you went from being dead to being alive now, Kinda. It’s not a resurrection-type spell, but more like I stitched pieces of who you currently are, with the information of who you were, fusing that information to create something new and functional. Which, by the way, was not cheap. Making something like you? It drains an ungodly amount of Astrum from me."
His gaze flicked over her again, this time more analytical than appreciative.
"And even after the creation part was over, keeping your past information tethered to this plane of existence isn’t free, either."
"Your soul is new, since I used a peice that asshole soul to make new vessel for your information to strive in, but that information can’t exist here without a cost, so I am acting as anchor to keep you alive, by keeping your information fixed in place."
"And if I am being honest here, that binding process? Constantly drains me of Astrum as well."
Adam raised a single finger as he continued to explain himself.
"Lucky for me, it’s a fixed cost. One-time upkeep, so now that you’re here, maintaining your existence is a hell of a lot easier than making something like you in the first place."
He exhaled, rolling his shoulders as his black feathers shimmered faintly behind him.
"Still though, I can’t cast Recall Oblivion again until next week...not unless I somehow pull another vault of Astrum out of thin air, but...
Adam added with a grin.
"...thanks to how my Astrum absorption works, I can keep your... let’s call it soul structure locked in place indefinitely."
He smirked, tilting his head.
"So congrats, you got a second chance of life at the mere expense of your current life, dont worry your an asshole in this life, so you dont have to feel guilty about it."
