Chapter 1382: Chapter 1382: Bounty

Standing outside Swimming City, Julius Reed stood alone, waiting in silence.

Upon leaving Unbeatable Divine Hall, they had given him a gift.

An access pass.

The so-called access pass was actually an undercover agent from the Unbeatable Divine Hall within the city.

This insider held a certain position within the City Lord’s Mansion.

Through the small paths used for procuring supplies on regular days, one could bring people into the city.

Swimming City is a secluded city.

Despite being near mountains and the sea, many essential items, such as medicines and other important supplies, still needed to be imported from overseas.

And coincidentally, the Unbeatable Divine Hall’s undercover agent was a minor official in charge of managing supplies within the City Lord’s Mansion.

As for why they wanted to help, it turned out they were curious to see what Elaenor Wood looked like when she had been with a man.

But, they got it all wrong.

The service Julius Reed spoke of was nothing more than the service of a maidservant to a holy master.

But, he was too lazy to explain.

Originally, Julius Reed planned to capture them and then coerce a confession under severe interrogation, to get the truth about Elaenor Wood’s past.

But as it seems now, the timing is not right.

Especially after seeing them, he had changed his mind.

They said they had unfinished business.

So Julius Reed would let them finish it, to see exactly what it was.

On the outskirts of Swimming City, many people voiced their complaints.

The city was supposed to be locked down for a day, but with the explosion in Finnegan Springs, the City Lord’s Mansion suddenly announced an indefinite lockdown.

The specific time for the city to open was yet to be announced.

Many people, either in high spirits with treasures or fugitives seeking refuge here, were already impatient.

Not far behind Swimming City, on a certain mountain, suddenly there were many bodies.

"Move aside!"

Just as Julius Reed was looking up at the city walls, a shout came from behind him.

Turning around, what he saw was a truck.

"Someone gave me this." Julius Reed stretched out his hand, revealing a coin in his palm.

Swimming City Currency!

But this Swimming City Currency was a bit unusual.

"Wait a second!"

After the passenger door of the truck was pushed open, a man jumped down and approached Julius Reed.

He took the coin, weighed it in his hand while sizing up Julius Reed.

This money was special; although not counterfeit, it was currency that circulated in Swimming City fifty years ago.

With repeated changes and wear and tear of the Swimming City Currency, this slightly vintage-feel money became increasingly rare.

The man was an insider from Unbeatable Divine Hall planted within the City Lord’s Mansion, and in earlier years there had always been contact between the City Lord’s Mansion and Unbeatable Divine Hall.

However, about ten years ago, the City Lord suddenly stopped responding to the liaison with the secret signal, and Unbeatable Divine Hall went into complete dormancy.

They neither initiated contact with the City Lord’s Mansion, nor did the insiders communicate with Unbeatable Divine Hall.

At the same time, they were also investigating this matter, trying to see if there was an issue with the City Lord.

But for ten years, the City Lord’s Mansion carried out its duties without a single leak, causing a headache for Unbeatable Divine Hall.

Now that the man saw the token responsible for liaising with Unbeatable Divine Hall, he became somewhat vigilant.

"This thing..."

"Someone gave it to me, saying you could take me into the city." Julius Reed said indifferently, "If I say who, you might be exposed."

"Get in the car!"

After a brief hesitation, the man threw the Swimming City Currency back and opened the back door of the truck, letting Julius Reed sit behind him.

They were right.

This official in charge of procurement from the City Lord’s Mansion could easily bring people in.

All the way there, there was no inspection.

Shortly after entering the city, Julius Reed got off the truck and walked alone on the streets.

Swimming City was bustling.

At least the people inside were all wealthy.

On the street corner, a crowd had gathered, all busily discussing something.

"Five hundred Swimming City Currency! Honestly, Lord Ghost Seven thinks quite highly of him!"

"Haha, brothers, our chance to strike it rich has come! With five hundred Swimming City Currency, I could get thirty girls all at once!"

"Dream on! Even Boss Finch Jackson wasn’t a match, what make you think you stand a chance? You’d probably be gone at the first encounter!"

Everyone chimed in one after another, their faces filled with smirks.

"What are you guys talking about?"

Julius Reed squeezed into the crowd and asked.

When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Since he had arrived, he needed to first understand the current situation in Swimming City and see if he could uncover any clues.

"Hey! You might not believe this, but Boss Finch Jackson, one of the Ghost Boss’s men, was killed!" A middle-aged greasy man, wearing a white short-sleeved shirt with a gold chain around his neck, spoke with confidence. "That was Boss Finch Jackson! One of the four most powerful people under Lord Ghost Seven!"

"Exactly, this could stir up a storm of bloodshed in Swimming City."

His companion nodded, clearly excited. "The incident at Finnegan Springs just happened, and now someone dares to mess with the Ghost Boss. Things are going to get heated up in our Swimming City!"

Loving a spectacle without fearing the chaos is a common psychology among people worldwide.

That’s the Ghost Boss we’re talking about!

The most hegemonic existence in Swimming City.

But now, someone has pulled the tiger’s whiskers, and no one knows what will happen next.

"What was that about five hundred Swimming City Currency you mentioned just now?" Julius Reed suddenly realized that casually killing a person had such a large impact.

Are the people of Swimming City really so naive?

"Hey! The five hundred Swimming City Currency, that’s the bounty the Ghost Boss has offered!" one of them said, pointing at the electronic LCD screen on the Swimming City wall. "Look, that guy on the screen, if you find any leads, you can get five hundred..."

Before he could finish, he glanced at Julius Reed.

Then, he took another look at the LCD screen!

"It’s you!"

The man exclaimed in shock!

His voice drew the sideways glance of his companions.

"How about this, you report me and we split the five hundred Swimming City Currency, fifty-fifty? Two hundred and fifty each for you and me." Julius Reed put his index finger to his lips, signaling the man to keep quiet.

"I’m not going to be a ’two hundred and fifty’! I want it all!"

He shouted: "I’ve found the man on the Ghost Boss’s bounty, someone vouch for me..."

Before he could gather witnesses, the shouter’s throat was suddenly crushed.

"I was thinking we could get rich together, but you didn’t treasure the opportunity!" Julius Reed released his right hand, and the man’s body slumped lifelessly to the ground.

"Quick! It really is him! So audacious!"

Some yelled, some called the City Lord’s Mansion, and even some formidable Martial Artists wanted to subdue Julius Reed!

If caught alive, the reward was a whopping five thousand Swimming City Currency!

"Kid, in my eyes, you’re just a walking ATM!" A burly man bellowed, swinging his fists that were as big as casserole pots, smashing down with force!

Bang!

With a fierce flick of his sleeve, Julius Reed sent out an invisible wave of air, blasting the man away!

"What a nuisance."

He wasn’t worried about revealing himself; after all, he was using the face of Solaris Grove.

But he still had important matters to attend to.

Suddenly!

A chill wind blew through!

It was the height of hot weather in Swimming City, and this cool breeze was somewhat unsettling.

"It... it’s freezing over!"

Someone cried out in shock!

They looked down to see a layer of frost forming on the ground beneath their feet!

The pedestrians on the outskirts who came into contact with the frost turned into ice sculptures in less than two seconds.

Their expressions and poses still mimicked those from when they were alive.

Even their eyes still held a look of astonishment!

"Is it you?"

Julius Reed looked towards an old man and a young man approaching from a distance, then glanced at the dozens of Swimming City citizens who were frozen, his expression growing a bit solemn. "You’re like a dog with a keen sense of smell."

"Pfft!"

Elaenor Wood suddenly laughed, shaking the white paper fan in his hand and spoke lightly, "I can hardly believe that a eunuch General could stir up such a storm in Swimming City. In this world, only your Sovereign would dare to be so reckless without considering the consequences."
