Chapter 1383: Chapter 1383: Trust

Smart people don’t need to speak too much nonsense.

"Amusing, isn’t it?" Julius Reed looked at Elaenor Wood in front of him, sticking out a finger: "You keep this up, and I really will kill you."

"I know." Elaenor Wood was not annoyed, even carrying a sense of serenity: "Everyone dies eventually. If I had to choose, I’d rather die by the hands of the sanctified leader."

"But the key issue is... killing you now would be a bit difficult. How about you wait for me to recover a bit first?"

Julius Reed said teasingly.

Sometimes, potential enemies can turn out to be real friends.

If he truly wanted to kill, he should be able to do so with the boost from the Dragon King Ring and the Sword of Hell.

But deep down, Julius Reed didn’t really want to kill Elaenor Wood.

He wasn’t someone who relished killing; he only killed those who deserved it.

"What should I do in the meantime?" Elaenor Wood was taken aback, then chuckled: "Aren’t you, the exalted leader, supposed to be aloof and imposing? That talk just now was really shameless."

"The sanctified leader is also human."

Julius Reed suddenly turned his head, looking at the three people who had just appeared not far away.

"I heard there’s five thousand Swimming City Currency to be made?"

One of them was carrying a pitch-black Longsword, a straw in his mouth.

"That’s right! Not just five thousand Swimming City Currency? Five thousand plus five hundred, that makes five thousand five hundred! Third brother, was your elementary math taught by the PE teacher?"

Another person was dressed in a white tank top, gray shorts, and a pair of flip-flops on his feet.

The very image of a martial arts master.

"In the third grade of elementary school, I killed my math teacher because I couldn’t get the math problems right, and that’s how I ended up in Swimming City, meeting the two of you." The one referred to as third brother snorted lightly, leisurely walking towards Julius Reed: "Otherwise, where would our ’Swimming City Trio’ come from?"

"Kid, did you hear that? The Swimming City Trio are personally getting involved, and you’re not going to offer up your head obediently?"

The third person was wearing a black long robe, with a liquor flask at his waist.

But this liquor flask...

It had a Peppa Pig design.

A person of the secular world.

"You guys are coming at me?" Julius Reed pointed to himself, somewhat helplessly: "Don’t you see all the corpses on the ground?"

The frozen citizens of Swimming City still maintained the postures they had in their last moments.

Some were making phone calls; some were taking videos.

"Them? A bunch of fools, how could they even be compared with us, the Swimming City Trio?" The third brother rotated the black sword in his hand, a look of disdain: "Honestly, I don’t see how your head could be worth five thousand five hundred Swimming City Currency!"

"The display already stated that I killed Finch Jackson." Julius Reed pointed at the LCD screen, feeling quite annoyed.

He came to Swimming City to investigate matters related to Pendleton.

Or, to be precise, to meet the Alliance Hierarch of Pendleton and incidentally learn about Isabella Warm.

Pendleton’s move from headquarters to Swimming City surely wasn’t just for the Divine Dragon Tripod.

Before this, Julius Reed only had some understanding of the Seven Veins, and knew very little about Pendleton.

As the sanctified leader of the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance, the objective of Pendleton’s overthrown, he had to make the trip no matter what.

But who would’ve known that no sooner had he entered the city, he’d get entangled with others.

An Elaenor Wood alone was enough of a headache, and now three secular characters had popped up.

"Just with you?" The man in black lifted the Peppa Pig flask at his waist, opened the lid, took a sip of alcohol: "Pah! If Finch Jackson was killed by you, I’d give you my head!"

The three men had an informant in the City Lord’s Mansion.

Upon receiving the intelligence, the City Lord’s Mansion immediately organized forces to rush to the scene of the incident.

And the Swimming City Trio, having learned the news ahead of time, quickly arrived.

Eager to nab the five thousand five hundred Swimming City Currency.

"Then I’ll take that head." Julius Reed took a step forward.

"Need a helping hand?" Elaenor Wood folded his paper fan, smiling: "Free of charge."

"You get what you pay for." Julius Reed gave Elaenor Wood a disdainful look: "Just stay aside, and by the way, watch my ability now!"

"Bullshit ability!" Third brother drew out the black Longsword, contemptuous: "Boss Finch was a martial arts expert. How could someone like you kill him? But I don’t care who you are when there’s money to be made!"

With that, he held the sword in both hands!

The blade began to flash with a white light!

"I’m no great shakes, just Path of Weaponry Zane Percival!" The third brother’s lips curled into a smug smile, his eyes full of arrogance and scorn.

"Third brother, you’ve improved again!" The other two couldn’t help nodding.

"Show me your true strength! Don’t let me win too easily!" The third brother laughed loudly, the Longsword in his hands growing ever brighter!

Even Elaenor Wood could feel the fluctuations in the atmosphere.

"How do you compare in ability to Boss Finch Jackson?" Julius Reed asked for no apparent reason.

"The three of us brothers together might not necessarily be unable to defeat Boss Finch Jackson!" The sword light in the hands of the third brother grew increasingly intense!

Even bordering on materialization!

"Good." Julius Reed took a deep breath and suddenly reached forward: "Let me borrow Tennyson One!"

No sooner had he spoken!

The black sword in the third brother’s hands began to tremble!

"What’s going on!"

The remaining two were both startled, temporarily not understanding the situation.

Splat!

But in the next moment!

The third brother’s Longsword flew from his hand, piercing his own throat!

"I’ll also borrow a head!"

Julius Reed leapt into the air and rushed straight towards the other two!

Whoosh!

But suddenly, a wall of ice appeared out of thin air, blocking him!

Julius Reed drew his sword to slash!

Boom!

The ice wall shattered into pieces, turning into bits of ice.

But in that brief moment, Elaenor Wood had already appeared! "I’m here to help you!"

The three heroes of Swimming City were no slouches; they were renowned assassins within Swimming City itself.

Now faced with this sudden situation, the other two exchanged glances, and said solemnly, "Kill!"

The two swords, carrying an overwhelming murderous intent, thrust straight out!

Elaenor Wood did not dodge!

Instead, she reached forward with both hands, grabbing the two swords in her hands!

Then, with a fierce twist, she heavily smashed both hands onto the tops of their heads!

Crack!

Blood splattered everywhere.

The three heroes of Swimming City permanently entered history.

"You’re playing with fire." Julius Reed’s face was dark as he looked at Elaenor Wood.

"Just helping out, no need for thanks." Elaenor Wood squatted down, as if she had found something, and took out a sealed letter from the waist of one of them.

"Pendleton?"

Seeing the name on the letter, she was slightly surprised.

"Give it to me!" Julius Reed also noticed that something was amiss, and snatched it away in one motion!

Elaenor Wood did not resist, simply letting him take the letter.

"Pendleton?" Seeing the two characters written in cinnabar ink, paired with a white envelope, Julius Reed tore it open directly.

He was somewhat surprised; what relation did the so-called three heroes of Swimming City have with Pendleton?

"The Alliance Hierarch is dead, Andrew is severely injured! All managers, please come to Swimming City immediately, extinguish the Bead Pulse, seize the Divine Dragon Tripod, and avenge the Alliance Hierarch!"

The letter was very brief.

"The Alliance Hierarch is dead?" Julius Reed was somewhat doubtful, wondering if the letter was deliberately intended to mislead him.

"The three heroes of Swimming City are rangers, usually working for money, and often carry out courier services. Because of their high skill level, many clients tend to trust them." Zain Ellsworth spoke up from the side: "It’s highly likely that these three were on their way to deliver a letter, heard that you were here, and temporarily changed their mind, wanting to claim the bounty."

"There’s another one!" Elaenor Wood bent down, searching inside the third brother’s bosom, and found another letter.

When sects make significant decisions from afar, to prevent misinformation, they need to send an additional paper document after receiving a phone call.

The document from Pendleton before them had a seal, a photograph, and numerous signatures, obviously meant to confirm the truth.

After all, the death of an Alliance Hierarch was no small matter.

"This is quite interesting, Sanctus." Elaenor Wood’s brow was slightly furrowed, suddenly smiling as she handed over the letter.

On the letter.

At the signature place, there were seven characters.

Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance, the new Sanctus.
