Magic Abyss So Far-Chapter 15: Ep - Memory
Chapter 15 - Ep 15 - Memory
A golden sun hovered over Frestco's horizon, but inside the Spire of Reformation, all light felt cold.
Kurumi remained chained, wrists raw, thunder dimming beneath her skin. Before her, in a crystalline stasis chamber, floated a woman with silver hair and eyes like polished stars.
Justin stood beside the chamber, expression unreadable. His crimson coat fluttered from the rising mana currents, and the hum of ancient machinery echoed through the vast sanctum.
"Who is she?" Kurumi rasped. "What... is this?"
Justin didn't answer at first.
Then he whispered: "Queen Fresha. The mother of Frestco. Ruler of the Celestial Court. And my mother."
He looked at Kurumi.
"Sera's mother, too."
Kurumi's breath caught. "But... Sera told me her mother died. She said her father raised her—"
"That was the lie she was given." Justin turned toward the crystal, fingers gently brushing the surface. "The truth is worse."
Kurumi's voice softened. "What happened?"
Justin's voice cracked. "She was betrayed."
---
Fifteen Years Ago — Frestco
Queen Fresha stood in the Celestial Hall, her long silver robes trailing behind her, a child swaddled in one arm—Sera. In the other chamber, a boy—Justin—was being trained by the High Guardians.
Frestco, a realm suspended above dimensions, was meant to be unshakable. But war brewed beneath the surface. The Council of Sigils conspired against Fresha's reforms. Her love for a human man—Sera's father—was declared treason.
They feared the bloodline.
They feared her children.
So they struck.
The betrayal came from within—the High Chancellor. Fresha fought alone, sealing Sera and Justin into glyphic cocoons, casting them into Earth with fragments of her power.
But she paid the price.
The rebellion bound her in a crystal prison, hidden beneath the Spire, left to sleep—forever suspended, her spirit fragmented.
Yet her will endured.
---
Now — Spire of Reformation
Justin stood with his back to Kurumi, voice distant.
"I searched for her for years. While the Sky Blades hunted down resistance, I studied the glyphs. I entered forbidden sanctums. I tore Frestco apart."
Kurumi said nothing, watching the faint pulse of the queen's breath through the crystal.
"And when I found her... she didn't even remember me," Justin whispered. "Her mind had fractured. They erased everything. Her name. Her identity. Even Sera."
Kurumi's voice cracked. "Is that why you... turned?"
He turned toward her, fire returning to his eyes.
"I didn't turn. I chose justice."
Kurumi stared at him, chest rising and falling.
Justin stepped forward. "And you will help me bring her back."
"I'd rather die," she spat.
He smiled. "You might."

Meanwhile — Earth
Rain clung to the city skyline as Akira and Sera stood in front of a small apartment in downtown Shinjuku. The air was thick with tension.
"This is where she lives?" Akira asked, still nursing bruised ribs from the battle.
Sera nodded. "Ayaka Shirosawa. She was your teacher... but she's more than that."
Akira raised a brow. "More?"
Sera turned to him, eyes glowing faint silver. "She was once one of Frestco's gatekeepers. An exile. She taught you because she knew you'd awaken the Crest someday." freёweɓnovel.com
Akira blinked. "And you think she can get us to Frestco?"
"She has to," Sera said, knocking.
The door opened a second later. Ayaka stood there in slippers and a faded yukata, her expression annoyed.
"Oh. It's you."
Akira gave a tiny wave. "Hi, Sensei."
Ayaka rolled her eyes. "Didn't I warn you about messing with fate?"
Sera stepped forward. "We need to talk. It's about Frestco. It's about Justin. And it's about the Queen."

Inside the Apartment
Ayaka sipped green tea, the room filled with antique books and scattered glyph maps. Thunder rolled faintly in the distance.
"You're telling me," she said slowly, "that Justin has returned to Frestco, kidnapped your friend, and that the Queen—the real Queen—is alive?"
Sera nodded. "He has her trapped in the Spire. He wants to use Kurumi to unlock her power again. If he succeeds, Frestco will fall under his reign. Or worse."
Ayaka closed her eyes.
"I was once one of the Glyph Wielders of the First Court," she said. "Until I refused to burn a mortal village during the Inheritance War. They branded me a traitor. I fled to Earth."
She looked at Akira, eyes tired. "And I swore never to return."
"We need you," Sera said. "Please."
Ayaka shook her head. "The Gate is sealed. It requires a Key-Sigil and blood of the Court."
"I'm of the Court," Sera said, stepping forward and slicing her palm. Blood—silver and glowing—dripped onto the map.
Ayaka stared at it.
"I'm begging you," Sera said. "Justin was my brother. But he's not the same anymore. He took someone precious to me. To both of us. I won't let her suffer like my mother did."
Akira stepped forward too.
"Kurumi's our friend. She never backs down. She deserves better than to be a pawn in your old war."
Ayaka looked at them.
Then sighed.
She stood, sweeping her hand over the map.
"Fine. But once we go, there's no turning back."

The Gate Ritual
Ayaka carved a ritual circle on the apartment floor, burning the glyphs with her blood flame. Sera stepped inside, her silver blood continuing to glow. Akira took his place opposite her.
Ayaka chanted in Frestcian. The air shimmered. The ceiling bent.
A fissure split the space above them.
The Gate to Frestco opened—swirling light and clouds, and the sound of ancient bells.
"Don't hesitate," Ayaka said.
Sera grabbed Akira's hand. "Together."
They stepped through.

Frestco — The Skyfields
Wind and light surrounded them. They landed on a platform in the skies—a floating continent of marble towers, golden meadows, and levitating spires.
Akira stumbled. "Whoa..."
Sera steadied him. "Welcome to Frestco."
Ayaka adjusted her coat, now transformed into a glowing battle robe. "I never thought I'd breathe this air again."
Ahead of them rose the floating Spire of Reformation, black and spiraled like a celestial sword.
"That's where he is," Sera said. "Where Kurumi is."
Akira narrowed his eyes. "Let's bring her home."
