Mated to Four Alphas-Chapter 194: Velric is sick - 1
Chapter 194: Velric is sick - 1
Silas’s POV
As I went inside, I suddenly started to feel hot—and that too, in the front. And when I touched Velric, I realized he had a high fever.
He was burning up. Just seeing that made my heart skip a beat. I was literally scared that something had happened to Velric.
I grabbed Van’s hand. "Velric is burning up—he has a high fever. Please do something, you’re a priest!"
"I can’t heal him. For healing, there needs to be a saint or a saintess. We’ll have to take him to the hospital."
I quickly turned around to look for the taxi, but it had already left. It was just there a moment ago.
Now how was I supposed to take Velric to the hospital? I didn’t know what to do. Just then, I saw Ciel getting into his car.
Without a second thought, I rushed over to him.
"Ciel, take us to the hospital right now! He has a high fever!"
"Silas, hurry up—come inside."
As I got in, Van stayed outside, gesturing that he would stay behind and that I should go.
After that, Ciel gave a signal to the driver to start driving and told him to take us to the hospital—and fast.
Velric had fallen asleep, but he was still burning up.
My heart was beating so fast with every passing second. Because when I tried to wake him up, he wouldn’t wake.
Ciel also touched Velric’s cheek.
"Oh my God, this kid is really burning up... Driver, drive fast! Can’t you see it’s an emergency?!"
Ciel shouted at the driver, and the car sped off. And after a while, when we reached the hospital, we quickly ran inside.
When the doctors took Velric to check on him, I was so nervous.
I started imagining so many bad things. But I snapped out of those thoughts—because nothing is going to happen to Velric. I believe that.
I was standing when Ciel pulled me by the hand and made me sit on the bench beside him.
"Silas, he’s going to be fine. Don’t worry."
"He was burning up, and he didn’t wake up either—how can I not worry?"
Tears started streaming down my face. My heart was aching.
Just then, I felt Ciel hug me to comfort me, but at that moment, all my focus was on Velric. I closed my eyes while crying.
"It’s alright, Silas. I understand—you’re scared for that kid. But at least let’s believe in the doctors. In a while, that kid’s gonna get better. I’m sure of it."
"I hope so... but, Ciel, why did he suddenly get a fever? He was perfectly fine before we came here," I said while sobbing.
"Let’s ask the doctor about that later."
I nodded, and we sat there for over an hour. But the doctor still hadn’t come out, so I stood up and peeked inside.
The doctor was still treating him, still checking on him. Their expressions told me they were nervous.
Seeing that made me even more nervous.
Two hours passed like that. And still, there was no news from the doctors—nothing to say he was fine or that he had woken up.
Just then, the door opened and a doctor came out. As soon as they did, I quickly stood up—and so did Ciel.
"How is he? Is he alright? What about his fever? Has he woken up?"
When I asked, the doctors
Their faces were down, and seeing that made my heart beat even faster. And even after I asked, they hesitated to answer.
They kept glancing at each other.
"Doctor, answer me—how is he?"
And just then, one of them, the doctor who had been standing at the back, came forward and said,
"Actually... we don’t know what’s happened to that kid. We did every kind of test with every machine we have, but we didn’t find anything. We don’t know why he’s unconscious or why his fever keeps rising. This is beyond our ability."
"Are you kidding me right now? You don’t know what’s wrong with a little kid? What kind of doctor are you? How can you even call yourself one if you can’t tell what’s happening to him?"
I snapped at them. I was angry. They were saying it was out of their hands.
That they didn’t know what was happening to Velric—why his fever was increasing, why he was unconscious.
Were they just making excuses? Or did Velric have some kind of serious illness?
"Doctor, do you even realize what you’re saying? Can’t you see the condition that child is in? Unconscious? Can you at least tell us something?" Ciel asked.
"I’m sorry... but we can’t treat him," the doctor said.
"Silas, let’s go to the Bloodfang Pack. There are better hospitals there. We’ll get the kid treated there. Let’s go."
As soon as I heard Ciel, I ran inside the room, picked Velric up, and carried him out.
We both got into Ciel’s car again, and he told the driver to take us to the Bloodfang Pack’s hospital. I was getting so scared.
Velric was in my arms, still unconscious, and his body was still burning up.
That scared me even more. I grabbed my phone and dialed Theron’s number, but he didn’t answer.
"Silas, don’t worry. He’ll be fine," Ciel said, patting my shoulder.
I think coming back to this pack was my biggest mistake. Velric was completely fine when we were in the Bloodfang Pack.
But after coming here... he’s in this condition now. It’s all my fault. Because of me, this little kid is suffering.
In the evening, we finally reached the Bloodfang Pack. We were stuck it traffic on the way and The driver headed straight for the hospital. And when we arrived, I didn’t waste a second—I rushed Velric inside.
And when we handed Velric over to the doctors, they quickly took him inside to check on him.
And the moment they saw his high fever, they all started to panic. I was standing outside, looking at them through the door.
