Chapter 223: Shine’s blinde date ( 1 )

At the other side, in Shine’s house.

Shine was still sleeping in his room. His rooms walls were covered with posters of soldiers.

Fake guns were placed on his table. His laptop had a gun-themed cover. And he was sleeping very soundly.

Just then, there was a knock on the door. Hearing it, he slightly opened his eyes and realized someone was knocking. Then a voice reached his ears.

"Shine, wake up! How long are you going to sleep?"

It was his mother. She was knocking and trying to wake him up.

He quickly sat up, using his hands for support, then got down from the bed. As he stood, he slipped on his fluffy slippers and opened the door.

"I’m awake, Mom."

"Look at your hair," she said, standing on her toes because Shine was so tall. She fixed his hair gently with her fingers.

"Now you’re looking good. Go and take a bath."

There was no need to fix his hair when he was just about to shower, but it was a mother’s love.

He turned, went back into his room, opened the wardrobe, grabbed some clothes, and headed into the bathroom.

After a long shower, when he came out, his room was spotless. His mother had cleaned everything while he was showering.

He glanced at the soldier poster and gently touched it with his palm. After that, he stepped out of his room.

His father and mother were sitting at the dining table, waiting for him. They hadn’t started breakfast yet.

He quickly sat down in his chair, and just when he was about to take a bite of his sandwich, his father threw a fork on the ground. Shine looked up.

"What happened, Dad?"

"That’s what I want to ask you, Shine. When are you going to get married? All my friends’ sons are married now, and some already have children. When will I get to be blessed like that?"

"Dad, if you wanted grandchildren so badly, then you shouldn’t have had me. You should’ve killed me the moment I was born. Who knows—maybe your second child would have been an alpha, married by now, and given you your grandchildren."

The atmosphere turned tense after Shine said that. Of course, his parents were always nagging him about marriage.

But Shine didn’t want to marry any alpha unless they were soldiers—something his parents found very strange. They thought it was just an excuse.

"Dad, I would be really happy if you’d even try to understand me. I don’t expect you to understand everything, but at least try. I don’t have an appetite anymore."

Saying that, Shine stood up and left the table without eating. He went back to his room.

As he left, his mother glared at his father.

"Do you even realize what you’ve done? He didn’t even take a bite! Why did you bring that up again? If he doesn’t want to get married, let him be single," she said.

"But I’m just worried. If he had an alpha beside him to take care of him, I wouldn’t be so concerned. I’m doing this for him."

"But the way you’re going about it is wrong. And I’ve set up a blind date for him. I’m going to convince him to go today. Don’t say a word when I talk to him."

Shine’s parents had made one plan, but he had another.

After getting back to his room, he sent a "hi" message to Jerry, Meyer’s assistant.

Shine had decided to ask Jerry to be his fake boyfriend to get his parents off his back.

He sat on his bed waiting for Jerry’s reply, but didn’t receive one right away.

Jerry was always busy with Meyer’s work and rarely checked his phone.

Shine pouted and started playing a game. Just then, his mother entered the room.

"What are you doing, Shine?"

He turned to her. "Playing games, Mom."

She came over and sat beside him.

"Shine, I’m sorry your dad brought that up again. I know you haven’t found anyone you like—that’s why you’re not getting married, right?"

"No, Mom. It’s not about that. I just don’t feel anything for any alpha unless they’re soldiers. I’ve told you this so many times."

Shine’s voice held irritation. He was tired of repeating himself.

"Then... can you do me a favor? Just this one last time. Can you go on the blind date? If you don’t, it’ll ruin my image. I promise, if you don’t like the person, I’ll never ask again."

Shine always liked soldiers, but it wasn’t that simple. Not every soldier would be his type.

His parents had even tried setting him up with soldiers before, but it didn’t work.

That’s why his mother said this would be the last try.

After this, she’d let Shine be however he wanted.

If he chose to stay single, they’d accept it and be happy for him.

When Shine heard that this was her last try, and she wouldn’t force him anymore if he didn’t like the person, he glanced at her, putting his phone aside. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com

"I’ll go, Mom."

Shine’s mother’s eyes widened in surprise when she heard him say yes.

Shine was not the type of person who agreed to blind dates, so his answer caught her off guard—in the best way.

"Oh, my boy! I’m so happy, Shine!" she beamed, standing up quickly.

"I’ll go and let them know that you’re going on the blind date, okay?"

"Okay, do whatever you want, Mom," Shine said lazily.

He lay back down on the bed after saying that, and his mother rushed out of the room, excitedly calling her friend to confirm—Shine was actually going on the blind date.

That evening, Shine dressed in a crisp white shirt, layering it with a long coat.

He looked stunning—his abs, muscles, and biceps showed through just enough to make him look like no ordinary person, but more like a full-fledged Alpha.

His dad offered to drop him off, but Shine refused and took a taxi instead.

Soon enough, he reached the restaurant where the date was supposed to happen.

There was a table number mentioned in the message, indicating where his blind date was waiting.
