Chapter 31: Wanted to sleep

Silas’s POV

"So, Silas, how old are you? ...Wait, should I guess your age?"

"Mhmm." What should I even say? He was sitting next to me, talking nonstop.

"You’re sweet sixteen, right ... Pffft~ Hahaha!"

There was no expression on my face because that joke wasn’t even funny. I glanced around; many nature portraits were hanging on the wall. Just looking at them made me feel calm since I’ve always liked nature.

"DARLING!"

I suddenly heard someone shouting, startling me. I snapped back to my senses and looked around—Lysander was frowning at me.

"What’s wrong? Why are you shouting here?"

"What? Are you blaming me now, like it was my fault? You were the one who didn’t answer even when I called for you!" Lysander whined.

I think I’ve been getting lost in my thoughts too much these days, haven’t I? I glanced at Nekol, who was busy on his phone.

After a while, dinner was served on the table, and it looked absolutely delicious.

"Bon appétit," I said as I started eating.

"Wow... this is so good!"

"Really? Then eat more, darling."

I glared at Lysander because he was calling me ’darling’ again.

"Don’t call me darling again, pig."

"Did you just call me a pig...?" He pointed at himself, looking as if he couldn’t believe what he just heard.

"Are you blind, Silas? In what way do I look like a pig?"

"In every way, pig."

He was easy to tease.

We ate while joking and talking, not even realizing how time passed. After eating, I felt really sleepy. I couldn’t wait to get back to my dorm and jump onto my bed, but the problem was that we got stuck in traffic on the way back—for the last twenty minutes, with no sign of it clearing.

"Why are we stuck in traffic?"

I was frustrated, yawning again and again. I leaned my head back on the seat and glanced around. The car was completely silent now—Lysander had suddenly gone quiet, staring out of the window. I didn’t know what happened, but I couldn’t say anything either, so I stayed silent.

After an hour, the traffic finally cleared, and as we moved forward, we saw that an accident had caused the jam. As our car passed the scene, I noticed a little kid standing with a police officer, crying miserably while hugging the officer’s leg. But no one was comforting him.

I felt bad for that little guy—his face was red from crying so much.

This is exactly how my brother and I cried when our mom died. But at least Dad was there to comfort us. However, when my brother got lost, and I cried for days, refusing to eat, no one paid attention to me—not even Dad. He had already brought Ciel home.

So I could guess how that little boy was feeling. Seeing him cry brought tears to my eyes too.

Lysander and Nekol didn’t react much. In fact, they didn’t even seem to notice the scene. So I didn’t say anything to them about the accident.

After a while, we finally reached the company.

"Thank you for dropping me home," I said, bowing slightly to Nekol before leaving.

"Thanks for dropping us, buddy," Lysander also said, bowing before following me.

Wait, he’s a famous actor, right? He must have a huge house, so why is he following me?

While walking, I suddenly stopped and turned to Lysander. "Why are you following me?"

"Who’s following you? I also live in the dorm, so I’m heading to my room. But wait... do you want me to follow you into your room, huh? Naughty Silas."

He’s such a flirt. He doesn’t even let a second pass without flirting. I guess that’s why so many betas and omegas adore him, and even some alphas go crazy over him.

I ignored him and kept walking. As soon as the elevator reached my floor, I stepped out. Lysander did too, but I didn’t say anything. Who knows? Maybe he actually lives here.

As I reached my room and started unlocking the door, I glanced at Lysander—he was unlocking the room next to mine.

"You live next door?" I was genuinely shocked because I thought no one lived here. But now, I had a neighbor.

"Yeah, this has always been my room. I just hadn’t come here for the last few weeks since I had work."

He unlocked his door and was about to go in, but before that, he smirked. "If you ever feel scared, feel free to knock on my door. I’m always ready to sleep with you."

"Ewww." I made a disgusted face, quickly opened my door, and rushed inside, locking it behind me.

First, I took a refreshing shower, changed into comfortable clothes, and applied some skin cream. Without doing anything else, I jumped straight onto my bed.

"Hah... so warm and cozy."

I pulled the blanket over my head and closed my eyes.

I hope I don’t have nightmares tonight. Lately, I’ve been having them every single night.

During the day, they seem like just bad dreams, but at night, they feel like watching a real-life horror show. Still, as I blinked, I didn’t even realize when I fell asleep.

The next morning, I woke up to a knock on my door at 8 AM. And then I realized—I didn’t have any nightmares last night. In fact, I couldn’t even remember what I dreamed about.

Yawning, I got out of bed, scratching my stomach as I opened the door—only to see Lysander standing there.

"Huh? What are you doing here?"

He was dressed nicely and looked fresh, meaning he had already taken a bath. But why was he standing at my door?

Today is my rest day. I have no lessons, nowhere to go. My only plan was to sleep all day, yet here he is... disturbing my sleep.

I was really feeling like I should give this fatty pig a good beating—he’s bothering me way too much! Yesterday too and today too.
