My Husband Is a Million Years Old Vampire-Chapter 77
Chapter 77: Chapter 77
At that moment Maria leaned in closer to Chloe, lowering her voice as she eyed Valentina and Raymond stepping into the dealership. Her lips curled in distaste.
"What are they even doing here?" she muttered, tilting her head slightly. "Does this look like some low-end car shop they can just stroll into like they belong?"
Then Chloe crossed her arms, her nails digging lightly into her skin as she exhaled sharply.
"I have no idea," she replied, her voice carrying a frustrated edge. "But honestly, I feel like Valentina is watching me. She just seems to show up wherever I go. It’s like she’s—"
She stopped, glancing toward Valentina, who hadn’t even noticed them yet.
Maria smirked. "Paranoid much?"
At that moment Chloe shot her a glare.
"I’m serious. Every time I turn around, she’s just... there."
Maria scoffed but said nothing, keeping her gaze fixed on Valentina.
Meanwhile, Liam simply observed the two women whispering, shaking his head slightly.
But before anyone could say anything more, Valentina’s voice cut through the room.
"Raymond, this place looks nice, don’t you think?"
With a bright smile Raymond nodded his head.
"Yes I does."
Seeing Raymond and valentina whispering to themselves Maria’s face darkened immediately, her nails tapping irritably against the counter as she spoke under her breath.
"I’m not going to accept this nonsense," she hissed.
"This is the first and last time this ridiculous pattern will repeat itself."
Chloe glanced at her warily but said nothing, sensing the frustration building in Maria’s voice.
Maria exhaled sharply, her arms crossing over her chest. "If you hadn’t pointed it out, I wouldn’t have even noticed. But now, I can’t ignore it. Wherever you go, Valentina appears." She scoffed. "When you went to buy jewelry, she was there. And now, here? What the hell is going on?"
Her jaw clenched as she glared toward Valentina, anger bubbling beneath the surface.
Meanwhile, Chloe pursed her lips, shaking her head slightly.
"I told you, it’s like she’s watching me."
Liam, who had been listening silently, simply sighed, not wanting to get involved in whatever Maria was about to start.
At that moment, the receptionist returned, gesturing toward them.
"Please, follow me," she said with a polite smile. "We’ll be taking you to the VIP section, where you can browse our premium selections of car."
At that moment Maria’s expression shifted slightly at the mention of VIP, but she quickly masked it with her usual confidence. She glanced at Chloe and Liam before adjusting her stance.
Since Valentina and Raymond had arrived at the same time, the staff saw no reason to separate them. Instead, they decided to escort everyone together to the VIP area, assuming that anyone here to shop for cars in this dealership had a significant level of financial capability.
With a tight-lipped smile, Maria turned toward Chloe.
" Please everyone should come with me, I will be showing you all around until you see what interest you."
Upon hearing what the representative just said, Maria’s face twisted in barely contained anger. Her nostrils flared as she scoffed, crossing her arms tightly over her chest.
"Excuse me?" she snapped, her voice sharp enough to make the receptionist flinch slightly. freewēbnoveℓ.com
"Did I hear you correctly? You’re grouping us with them? You think we are on the same level as Valentina and that man?"
Immediately She shot a pointed glare toward Raymond, her eyes burning with disdain.
Then Chloe pressed her lips together, but the slight smirk on her face made it clear she agreed with every word her mother was saying.
Maria didn’t stop. She turned fully toward the receptionist, her heels clicking against the polished marble floor as she took a deliberate step forward.
"Let me make something very clear. Do you have any idea who we are?" She gestured toward Liam with an exaggerated motion. "Do you even know who this man is? I guess No? So then let me educate you."
She straightened her posture, her chin lifting as if addressing an unworthy subordinate.
"This is Liam, my in-law. My daughter and him will be getting married very soon. Do you understand the weight of what I’m saying? That means he is family. And as family, he deserves the highest level of respect."
She scoffed, shaking her head. "And yet, you had the audacity to lump him in with them? Do you have any idea how insulting that is?"
Then her eyes darted toward Valentina and Raymond, her expression filled with contempt. "I’m very sure those two aren’t even here to buy anything. They’re probably just here to look around take pictures, like peasants gawking at luxury they can’t afford."
Chloe chuckled softly at Maria’s words, while Liam simply adjusted his cufflinks, saying nothing but clearly reveling in the moment.
Maria turned back to the receptionist, waving her hand dismissively. "Now, do the right thing and separate us from them immediately. I will not be sharing the same space with people who have no business being here."
Hearing Maria’s words, Liam felt a surge of anger rise within him, though he kept his expression carefully composed. On the surface, he maintained his usual air of indifference, but inside, his thoughts were in turmoil.
Why would she say that? he thought bitterly. Why would she go out of her way to announce my marriage to Chloe in front of Valentina and everyone? He clenched his jaw slightly, his mind racing.
Maria’s confidence in the marriage was almost suffocating. It wasn’t as if he had agreed to anything yet—at least, not officially. He had been considering it, weighing the advantages, but now... now he wasn’t so sure. The way Maria spoke, as if it was already a sealed deal, as if her decision had already been made for him, made him uneasy.
’Is this really what I want?’
If Valentina wasn’t standing here, would Maria have said it so loudly? Or was she just trying to prove a point? Trying to get under Valentina’s skin?
He exhaled slowly, keeping his face impassive.
’No,’ he realized.
’It’s not just Maria’s words that are making me hesitate. It’s everything. The way Chloe acts, the way her family operates...and now he could feel, what he thought he has for Chloe wasn’t love.
