My Wife is a Dead Villainess, and I'm Her Living Weapon-Chapter 116: Armor
Chapter 116: Armor
Elian found his friend’s stunned expression amusing. In under a second, Bianca had resolved his lifetime of romantic complaints.
Most men chased families and simple peace. But peace was never free.
Society didn’t reward loyalty. Or skill. It rewarded those who knew how to compete.
Whether in war or courtship, the rules were the same: limited winners, too many players, and a system designed to discard the quiet ones.
Charlotte longed for a partner who wouldn’t betray her—but her station ensured she’d never meet one. The ones worth loving were hidden in plain sight.
Ned, poor and earnest, would’ve died never even seeing her face. Not for lack of worth—just lack of opportunity.
Without intervention, they would’ve remained in different worlds. That was the reality.
It felt good to be wanted, to be loved, to be depended on. Elian felt grateful for every single day since he met Bianca. And he wanted those he loved to feel it too.
"Don’t mess it up. Charlotte can be quite a handful."
Elian stretched out his fist. An action that felt incredibly familiar. Ned, who saw the gesture, smiled and bumped his own against Elian’s.
"Did you see how amazing she is? If I ever get lucky, you have to be my best man."
"Naturally."
Ned then bowed to Bianca sternly, "Mistress Velvet, thank you for the opportunity. I promise I will make Lady Charlotte happy."
"Oh my! I act as if you are marrying her already," she teased, "Jokes aside, call me Bianca, Ned. Velvet is for strangers. Oh! Charlotte’s pet name is Lottie. She loves it when she gets called that; it makes you feel young."
"I see! Thank you for the tip, Bianca. I will do my—ahhh!"
While Ned was talking, a sharp whistle cut through the air. A spear of Living Metal—big as a car—hurtled toward Elian.
But the Tyrant simply stopped the projectile by grabbing the tip. His action created large gushes of wind that blew violently around the three of them.
"Seems like Fluffy has lost it," Elian murmured.
"Well, we did make her wait. I wonder if this newfound impatience is because of Fralhame, being a Weapon, or my sister herself."
"Uhm, excuse me, what is a Fluffy?"
Elian absorbed the spear into his arm and pointed to the large, imposing 10-meter wolf made of metal. "That is Fluffy. She is Bianca’s adopted sister. A Snow Wolf Alpha I turned into a golem."
"And you are going to fight her," Bianca chirped with delight.
Ned pointed to himself and asked, confused, "Sister? Huh? Wait! Me? Fighting that thing?" He began to wave his hands in a fluster, "No way! No way in hell! Look at the side of that monster! How is that Fluffy?"
Bianca crossed her arms and observed Ned’s armor, "Elian, you forgot that humans have faces again."
"Ah right, let me do that now," the Tyrant turned to Ned, who was still complaining towards Fluffy. Reworking his friend’s helmet, liquid metal began to flow and spread, creating a face guard over Ned’s helmet.
"Oy! Seriously? Wait, I can’t do this!"
"Even for Charlotte?" Bianca challenged.
Taking another phone out, the Witch began recording Ned, "Ned sweetie, Charlotte is in command of hundreds of A-Rank Breakers and a few S-Ranks. If you wish to be worthy of her, prove it now. Fluffy can kill even A-Ranks in one hit. Survive as long as you can."
At that moment, Ned grew silent and dug his feet into the ground. Although his body trembled, Ned took out his mace and protected his body with the tower shield.
"Sigh. Women really are dangerous beings."
"Charlotte, you see this? All he saw was a photo and your voice, yet he is already willing to endure so much," Bianca remarked in excitement. "Do not let go of him, do you hear me?"
"You are enjoying this way too much."
"Elian, I am quite old. How do you think I entertained myself? Love stories and fiction are what kept me company. Besides," Bianca said as she rolled her eyes, "know that the power Charlotte has over Ned is but a fraction of what I have on you."
The Tyrant couldn’t help but smile, "Cheeky, aren’t you?"
"Hmph. Says the lunatic who wanted to enslave an entire people... just to make me smile."
She flicked her hair and scoffed. "I already know how much sway I have over you, darling. Regretting it now would be pointless."
In a split second, Elian drew near Bianca and embraced her from behind. "I don’t, though. Why are you acting so defensive? Are you embarrassed?"
Elian quickly found his mood improving. Bianca’s warmth, weight, and presence were extremely comfortable. Just being with her made him smile. And judging from her flushed skin and rapidly beating heart, Bianca felt the same.
"I am not," she snapped. Bianca then tried to get a good shot of Ned and Fluffy. Elian grew mischievous and snuggled against her and kissed along her collarbone. Bianca made a soft yelp, but didn’t resist.
As they flirted, screams came from the young crusader fighting Fluffy.
"ARGH! COME AT ME! I AM NOT SCARED OF YOU!" Ned roared.
Fluffy smirked as she body-slammed him. However, contrary to what everyone expected, Ned widened his stance and angled his shield. With minimal impact, Fluffy’s body slid to the left, allowing Ned to endure.
"Ho?" Amused, Fluffy began to create snake-like appendages from her back. There were close to ten, each carrying a different weapon. Spears, clubs, axes, all the way to swords and rapiers. "Let’s see what you are weak against," she declared as she licked her lips.
Like an entire army, Fluffy assaulted Ned. Using her body, the ten weaponized tentacles battered him from every direction. Yet he held on. Annoyed, Fluffy withdrew all her weapons and merged them into a single gigantic hammer.
She then slammed it to Ned’s side with all her might. The blow was so powerful that all the dust on the ground flew up like a hurricane. A sonic boom followed a loud crack.
But Ned still stood his ground.
All of a sudden, Fluffy turned to Elian and growled.
"What the hell, Elian? Did you cheat on his entire suit of armor with commands like that damn nail?"
Smiling, the Tyrant nodded, "Yep."
"Ugh! Crap!" Storming off, Fluffy came down on Ned with a vengeance. It took her destroying the ground and using all sorts of tricks to bring her opponent down. But he got up just as quickly. Elian’s friend endured Fluffy’s rampage all while vomiting blood.
When Fluffy grew angry and began to use her real tactics, it got gruesome. She sliced off Ned’s left arm. Slammed a gigantic hammer on his head and trampled on him using her full weight as a battering ram.
But the crusader still got up. Again and again, as if possessed. He began to use the potions in his magic bag liberally. All so he would not fall.
Amid the blood and violence, Silent and Bastion exchanged a rare comment.
"It seems Charlotte is going to get a fine man as her partner. We should arrange for her pups to marry yours, daughter."
"The Living Metal armor helps, but that human’s mettle is just as impressive."
Elian felt proud of his friend. Much like himself, Ned was a hard worker. Although an orphan and a foreigner, he did not let his financial situation stop him.
I remember thinking he was such a strong person back then. How did I even forget that?
A soft warmth pressed against his shoulder.
"It’s fine. I’ll remember for you," Bianca whispered, kissing his cheek. She leaned her head on his shoulder. Absentmindedly, she remarked, "Darling, you made something extremely broken again."
It started out as an experiment that slowly grew into a masterpiece. Boots that grew ten times heavier were struck. Armor plates that pulsed back to diffuse impact. Shoulder pads that never lost balance. Each piece and part of Ned’s armor fought with him.
"Ha, isn’t it great? I am learning what to change as Fluffy demolishes it. This is just the start; the more Ned fights, the more refined my suits will be."
Alone, it would not make a huge difference. But together? The commands were actors in a play. Their range and abilities grew exponentially. Elian even added Dominator linings whose only purpose is to protect Ned’s body from damage. Or rather, feeling the damage.
I need to find a way to shield humans from shockwaves in the future.
If Bianca aimed to have Charlotte join their faction, it meant that the breakers under her command would soon be fighting with them. And as they were, they were far too weak. The armor Elian made allowed even a Dawn-tier breaker to fend off Fluffy.
And if the ones who gain the weapons betray us? The Living Metal armor will become their coffin and eat the traitor alive. Yeah, that works. Material is always welcome.
At his thoughts, he felt a slight tug on his hand. It was Bianca.
"You did not just really think that, right?" she asked in disbelief, "That these armors will cannibalize the people wearing them?"
I did. You do not approve? Should I soften it to just a lobotomy? You want the bodies to be spared?
Bianca closed her eyes and massaged her temples, "I guess that was on me. You were just following what you had already told me earlier. I and a few others are the only ones who matter."
Elian didn’t understand Bianca’s point and moved on. He gestured to a large, eagle-sized swallow perched on a nearby roof.
"Burny."
The Flame Swallow quickly dove down and presented himself to the Tyrant. "Yes, Sir Elian?"
"Burn him."
In response to Elian’s command, the Swallow’s eyes narrowed in delight.
"With pleasure."
And so continued Ned’s tempering. When even a Flame Swallow joined in, Elian noticed Marcus and Tessa swallow nervously.
"Oh right, there are other people around here. Bianca?"
"Sigh, please be more prudent, darling."
"Why? I have you, don’t I?"
"Tsk. You and your glib tongue."
