Chapter 57: Coward

"There it is, the door to the inner palace."

A golem, ghost and gigantic wolf stopped just before a towering flat surface. Similar to the one in the Red Swarm Dungeon. It hardly resembled a door—more a towering wall of ice. The only thing of note was the majestic carving at the center.

Fluffy looked at her companions and made a complicated face.

"Due to these bastards forbidding me to come here, I only know part of the signature needed to open the door. With Master’s intellect, I was hoping we can guess the rest or wait till they come out."

Bianca sighed, "Fluffy, you are worrying over nothing. Did you forget about how we entered the boss room in the Red Swarm Dungeon."

"I-I remember, it was unbelievable, but Insect races rarely have an abundance of Mana. How could they even..."

"Bianca, I’m going."

"Try not to break it too much."

"W-What? Sir Elian this Seal is one of my race’s most prided creations. It uses Mana to absorb the damage and is powered by built-in arrays for.."

As Fluffy began describing the intricate pattern, Elian strode before the wall and braced his core. The panels on his shoulders opened up with a loud click and exposed the honeycomb lattice inside them.

"Blockbuster."

"WAIT!"

A thunderous roar of ear-shattering detonations followed. Fifty black objects slammed into the lower part of the wall like a wrecking ball. Ice shavings and a whirlwind of white chaotically swirled. It was as if Elian’s attack was trying to destroy an entire mountain.

Fluffy lowered her head out of terror. Bianca who saw the sigh, commented in confusion.

"We are behind him, what are you even scared of?"

"You are so calm since even if he misfired those things cannot hit you! I am made of flesh! Every time he uses that monstrosity, my entire body shivers from the shock!"

Hearing her comment Elian couldn’t help but nod. As the one using the weapon his ears normally bled each time he fired Blockbuster. But whatever pain he endured was worth it. Blockbuster excelled at one thing and one thing only.

Complete annihilation.

When the ice dust and white smoke cleared, the impact area looked like it was stabbed with a gigantic spear. A jagged tunnel was formed on the door.

Fluffy’s jaw dropped, but before she could comment. The ridiculousness of Blockbuster continued.

Simultaneous hissing noises rang out—dozens of Cinderglass spheres, embedded deep inside the tunnel, beginning their volatile countdown.

Anyone who had fought beside Bianca and Elian would recognize this demented warning immediately

"Blockbuster has Cinderglass ammunition? Since when?!"

BOOM!

Powerful eruptions occurred inside the wall, they felt muted but the wall of ice seemed to flinch in pain. Snow and massive fragments began to fall from above, like the start of an avalanche in winter. Yet despite the chaos the one who created it saw only one thing.

The door still standing.

"Reload."

Tough. Let’s see how much you can take.

"Round two. Blockbuster!"

Elian fired again.

As if the wall remaining in one piece insulted him, the weapon ravaged it once more with Cinderglass spheres.

"Round three. Blockbuster!"

More and more detonations followed. Until eventually—

Crash!

The majestic seal, the pride of Fralhame Snow Wolves was sliced by gigantic fissures. Then the wall came crashing down like a castle of cards. Like an avalanche large chunks of ice and vapor poured down from above. It looked someone tore a hole below the polar ice caps.

A powerful breeze blew as the inner sanctum was finally connected to the rest of the dungeon. It was refreshing.

The pride of a world crumbled. Not against an army. Not against a siege. But against a single weapon who refused to be denied.

"He broke it...He really broke it with just brute force...How in the world..."

"I will say one thing, Fralhame had every right to be proud of that seal. Even I would have not been able to overpower it. Only it met the biggest muscle head of all."

As they marveled, Elian only had one thing in mind.

Preparations completed.

He commented as he strode forward, "Bianca, Fluffy. I am charging in."

"Wait! Sir Elian..."

"Do it, my weapon. Make them rue this day."

"Master stop edging him on!"

"Possession."

A bright light came from behind Elian. A few seconds later, a domineering presence made the air feel stifling. A Winter Wolf with three horns and two tails emerged. Her face looked like of a queen.

"Fluffy. It’s time to end this."

"Sigh, okay."

Elian skated into the inner sanctum without hesitation.

Compared to the endless cold outside, it was a paradise—green grass underfoot, snow only lingering in patches, a lake glittering under an unnaturally bright sun.

"Where are they?"

To the one who destroyed the door, none of it mattered. He needed only two things: his second Tyrant kill, and a core to feed Bianca. Everything else belonged to Fluffy. frёewebηovel.cѳm

"Stop!"

A noble voice called out to Elian. It was a extremely large Snow Wolf Alpha, one even bigger than Fluffy. It was almost as big as Fluffy when she was possessed. Beside him was a similar wolf to Fluffy, but rather than gold she had a purple streak on her mane.

They look strong. But not enough to stop me.

Elian lowered his head and braced his body. The thermal compartments of his body opened up as his turbines began to come alive. He then noticed that these wolves were wearing similar collars to the ones used by the beacon party.

They are tamed? But who is their master?

"Why have you come here, Intruder? Breaking the door with your barbarism, it seems you wished to make an enemy of both Fralhame and the Church."

I see. The Church itself placed agents here to enforce their will, smart.

Before Elian could move, a choked sob came from his companion.

"D-Dad? M-Mom? You are alive?"

The two wolves looked at Fluffy and couldn’t help but exclaim in sadness. Their voices cracked—caught between shame, sorrow, and a desperate, pitiful hope.

"Whisper...I hoped you would never see us like this."

"My child you are alive! Thank the heavens! Truly thank goodness."

They are Fluffy’s parents?

At that moment, a guttural voice came forward.

"Bastion. Silent. You have met the intruders now execute them!" it commanded.

"Please do not make us do this, Tyrant! We have served you loyally all this time!"

"Whisper is our daughter, she is one of us!"

Elian followed the voices and saw a beast similar to Fluffy’s possessed form but different. The seven horns spiraled grotesquely from its skull, and three tails lashed the air like scythes.

"Scan."

Found you, coward. You don’t even deserve to be killed by Fluffy.

Without a word, Elian turned his body and crouched down. The thermal vents closed and the Cinderglass fuel erupted. Flames blasted out of his back as his body shot forward like a bullet.

The thrust caused the grass to dry up and begin to burn, like a demon, Elian’s charge carved a path of fire in the paradise. His abrupt charge sent panic rippling through his target.

"EEK! BASTION! HE IS COMING FOR ME! FIGHT HIM!"

Yet despite his order, the Winter Wolf Tyrant, was already running away. Elian who saw the fear in his eyes felt nothing but contempt.

For such a cowardly weakling to rule over Fralhame, I feel nothing but pity for the legions that died outside.

Elian’s insane acceleration allowed him to close the distance instantly. Despite the Tyrant being up a cliff, Elian tore up the cliff like a battering ram, the ground shattering beneath his boots as he launched himself skyward.

As he saw the back of the cowardly Wolf king, he braced his body for impact.

"HIEK!" it shouted in fear.

STAB!

His horn buried into the retreating Wolf, drawing a pitiful whimper. Elian stopped his acceleration and raised his head to the air. Using the 15-meter wolf’s weight against it, he heaved it upward and slammed it into the ground before him.

"Kreuak!" it vomited blood as its eyes trembled in horror!

Elian then drew his arm back and threw his right arm forward.

Pile Driver’s Onyx nail pierced into the Tyrant’s skull with a sharp thud. His eyes shrank in terror—too slow, too weak, too late.

"Die."

A Cinderglass cartridge detonated. The shock climbed up the nail and into the Wolf’s brain. It exploded violently. The blood, brain matter and mush splattered Elian Crimson.

The Dungeon fell into silence.

When Elian turned around, he saw over two dozen Snow Wolf Alpha’s appear. Each of them had a taming collar on their neck.

Why haven’t they fallen off? Wasn’t this coward their master?

Boom.

A sudden detonation. Elian turned to see one of the Snow Wolf Alpha’s head violently explode. A spray of blood and bone painted the scorched meadow red.

"Oww... that hurt. Why are you all so late? I almost died! Worthless trash!"

Then a voice came from the corpse that lay behind him.

Despite already dying once, the revived Tyrant still remained full of arrogance. Elian quickly scanned the Alphas who just arrived. And frowned at what he saw. They all had the same class.
