Rebirth: I Am Not the Movie Queen This Time-Chapter 21 Beating Severely
Chapter 21: Chapter 21 Beating Severely
The next classes were math and Chinese, just like English class, Wan Chu’er felt both familiar and alienated. She told herself that she really needed to work hard in the days to come.
After three classes, Wan Chu’er packed her bag and headed outside, planning to go home for lunch.
As a junior, facing the pressure of senior year, many students chose to save time by not going home at lunch, instead buying food near the school to eat, and then spending the remaining time in the classroom doing homework or reading.
Previously, since Bai Zhixi didn’t go home for lunch, she usually gave Wan Chu’er five yuan to eat at school, but unfortunately the money was taken by Liu Li.
However, today Bai Zhixi was home making pickles, and Wan Chu’er planned to go home for lunch, deciding to go home for lunch from now on to eat with Bai Zhixi.
Seeing Wan Chu’er about to leave, Liu Li thought she was being timid. Liu Li’s courage instantly surged, and she immediately called out to stop Wan Chu’er.
"Wan Chu’er, don’t forget what you said this morning."
Wan Chu’er glanced at Liu Li and responded indifferently, "I know."
"If anyone doesn’t come, they’re a bitch!" Liu Li added, fearing Wan Chu’er would not show up.
"Fine!"
After leaving the classroom, Wan Chu’er ran towards the playground behind the academic building, where she had seen a long stick during her morning run.
Having the chance to beat up Liu Li, Wan Chu’er wouldn’t pass it up, especially since Liu Li herself was practically asking for it.
But she wasn’t foolish enough to go into a fight unarmed, risking injury to herself; anyone without a weapon is a fool, and she was no fool now.
Liu Li had been calling for Zhang Xiaoyu for a while, who kept making excuses. Finally, she mentioned she had to leave due to urgent family matters and ran off, leaving Liu Li grinding her teeth in frustration.
Thinking it over, Liu Li then left the classroom and headed towards Class 2-8, where her neighbor Zhang Tieqiang was studying, believing that involving a boy would be more intimidating.
By the time Liu Li and a reluctant Zhang Tieqiang reached the alleyway behind the school, Wan Chu’er was already waiting there.
Wan Chu’er was holding a book, appearing totally indifferent towards Liu Li, casually tossing her school bag on the ground beside her which visibly annoyed Liu Li.
"Wan Chu’er, you damn bitch, I’ll slaughter you today!" Liu Li shouted loudly.
Wan Chu’er slowly put her book back into her bag and then stood up to face Liu Li and the boy with her.
"Liu Li, you’ve bullied me for a year; yet when I strike back once, you get upset. Have you ever considered how I feel?"
Liu Li sneered, "Bullying you means I regard you as worthy."
Wan Chu’er continued, "Have you forgotten what Teacher Zhu said to you? And remember, I have your written debt — what if I take it to the principal or the police? Have you thought about the consequences?"
Hearing this, the already-reluctant Zhang Tieqiang was deeply shocked. He hadn’t expected the teacher to be aware of this issue and it could even reach the principal or the police. He wanted no part in this drama pulled in by Liu Li.
If this issue jeopardized his studies, it would be a complete loss.
Realizing this, Zhang Tieqiang told Liu Li, "Liu Li, I just remembered I have something to do. I’m leaving first."
After saying this, Zhang Tieqiang didn’t wait for Liu Li’s response or her frustrated protests, and immediately fled.
Ridding of the unwanted Zhang Tieqiang suited Wan Chu’er just fine.
Liu Li, furious, stomped her feet and said to Wan Chu’er, "Wan Chu’er, I will defeat you today, let’s see if you dare report to the teacher, and if you don’t hand over that debt notice today, you’re not leaving."
Wan Chu’er laughed, "Alright."
Liu Li’s heart was filled with suspicion, but she really couldn’t figure out what Wan Chu’er was up to, so she charged at Wan Chu’er.
Just as Wan Chu’er bent down and pulled out a long, thin stick from under her backpack, and with the speed of lightning, struck Liu Li with it.
Caught off guard, Liu Li was hit squarely, and she screamed in pain, "Ah! Wan Chu’er, you dare use a stick!"
Wan Chu’er didn’t bother speaking anymore, she just started beating Liu Li relentlessly with the stick, using a lot of force with each strike.
In pain, Liu Li forgot about fighting back against Wan Chu’er, and she couldn’t even get close to Wan Chu’er. Crying out in pain, she dodged around, trying to escape from this place.
Unfortunately for her, Wan Chu’er clung tightly to Liu Li, not letting her escape easily, continuing to strike her with the stick.
"Ah—help, ah—Wan Chu’er, stop, it hurts to death..."
Liu Li regretted it, why did she agree to fight Wan Chu’er.
Also, why didn’t she prepare a stick herself!
Liu Li desperately covered her head and ran away, finally reaching the end of the alley, which led to a main road.
Seeing Liu Li running away clutching her head, Wan Chu’er laughed and stopped chasing, shouting loudly: "Liu Li, feel free to come back for more whenever you want."
Hearing such a provocative remark, Liu Li shuddered and hastened her steps to leave.
Wan Chu’er casually went back, picked up her backpack, and unable to restrain her good mood, started humming a tune.
"Was that eyesore just now your enemy?"
Suddenly, a man’s voice came from above, startling Wan Chu’er and making her heart skip a beat.
She looked up and saw Manager Bai’s pale face sitting atop the wall, watching Wan Chu’er with a mocking expression.
Wan Chu’er glared at him: "Scaring people, scare someone to death! You scared me."
Manager Bai chuckled and casually said: "Alright, sorry for scaring you. You were quite fierce when you were hitting someone. Didn’t expect your heart to be so frail."
Wan Chu’er ignored him, continuing to walk forward.
Manager Bai shouted from behind: "You haven’t told me, was that eyesore your enemy? Did you give her the job? You’re so capable, yet you let someone bully you for a year, unimaginable." He had heard their previous conversation.
Hearing the word ’job’, Wan Chu’er stopped in her tracks, realizing she couldn’t afford to offend Manager Bai.
She squeezed out a smile, turned her head upwards and said: "Yes, that girl was Liu Li, she’ll start working at Heavenly World in a few days, I hope Manager Bai can look after her."
Manager Bai clicked his tongue a few times, and before Wan Chu’er could change her expression, he hurriedly added: "That smile of yours is really fake."
The smile on Wan Chu’er’s face vanished immediately, her expression darkened.
"Ha ha..." Manager Bai laughed loudly, "How do you want me to take care of your enemy?"
"Don’t make it too hard for her, give her some chances to earn extra on the side, let her grow to like Heavenly World."
Manager Bai’s eyes widened, he exclaimed: "The old ancestors were right: women and petty men are the hardest to maintain. I’ll have to be careful with you in the future."
Wan Chu’er glanced at him contemptuously, turned around and walked away, no longer paying any attention to Manager Bai, who had appeared suddenly and behaved like a lunatic.
