Reborn ghost seeing lady is pampered by her ex husband-Chapter 617: Demise of the sorcerer
Bradley undid the spell on Rufus but maintained it on everyone else. "You can make the same decision Morgan Montgomery made all those years ago. If she had not, there would be no Montgomery today. It is called a sacrifice for the greater good of others."
"I would rather die." Rufus said.
Bradley looked up and laughed, his voice bellowed like a raging storm, shaking the walls of the tower. It told of the great strength he possessed which he had grown over the many years he had lived.
"You are nothing Rufus, you do not even have a quarter of Zephyra's strength. You Saxon's have fallen below what your ancestors could have ever expected. Take my hand and your lineage will return to the top." Bradley whispered.
None of the Saxon's could move or talk, but they all had just one answer, 'no.' They would rather die than become agents of evil.
"Go to hell." Rufus answered, with a flicker of his wrist, he drew the spear from nothingness_it's obsidian head was humming with contained storm. Without pause, he launched it towards Bradley who stopped it with just one the finger.
The spear dissolved into nothing as Bradley cackled. "You do not understand what is going on here old man, I am no ordinary human for I have roamed this earth for hundreds of years. You do not know the magic I have seen or the souls I have gobbled up. Neither you or anyone from that joke of an academy can cause harm to me." He crowed; chest puffed like a victorious rooster.
Then, shadows coiled around Rufus' neck like serpents, squeezing until the veins pulsed black. "You know what, I am going to skip you and make the offer to your son, the one next in line to lead the Saxon's. I am going to give you a slow and painful death and then I will visit the homes of every guardian in this country and put an end to them.
With you dead and no guardian to help the weak foolish mortals_nothing is going to stop us from bringing Ravana back and rising to glory again. And once I find those damn crystals it will be game over. I will drain them and become the most powerful immortal sorcerer to ever walk the earth." He spoke nonchalantly, like he was not strangling a man to death.
"Nothing tastes better than the soul of a good witch or warlock." He laughed out the words, then Bradley's jaw unhinged_ thin, luminous strands of Rufus' magic wrenched free from his body, siphoning into Bradley's maw and he gulped them like a starving animal.
While Bradley had been yapping, Phoebe and Star had been busy breaking out of the ancient spell he had cast which Star called the voids unblinking eye. Fortunately, they were successful just before Bradley started consuming Rufus's life essence.
Phoebe punched the floor with a blast of pure magic and the tower shook. Suddenly Bradley felt a powerful force shove him to the side, the invisible hold that he had on Rufus ceased to exist.
Bradley flew through the air, hit a wall and the fell down, motionless. He did not stay down for long as he floated up with magic. "How did you.....?" Bradley wiped blood away from the corner over his mouth with his finger eyeing Phoebe with surprise.
"Guess." Phoebe answered.
All of her was radiating with a white energy, raw pure magic. The ground beneath her was crack where she had punched. Her eyes were glowing golden like the night when she summoned the storm.
Bradley had seen that light around Phoebe before and he knew what it represented, and he was surprised. "You are the grand guardian. It cannot be!" His eyes narrowed at Phoebe. "You cannot be the grand guardian, my spies at the academy would have told me about your awakening." He snarled.
"Why would I announce it when I knew that the academy was littered with spies?" Phoebe asked in response. "You must have been counting on the fact that there is no grand guardian when you started infiltrating the founding families. I told you when I exposed your identity that this is over. Enigma has been caught as well that part of the plan has failed too, don't you get it?" She spoke in an outwardly voice. From her fingertips pooled a red energy-- which she directed at Bradley.
Star took over and she gained control of Phoebe's body then. "Othello, you and your followers have been a plague on this earth for too long. You have defiled magic and pervert the laws of nature. This ends now."
Othello did not fear many things, but he feared deities--the strong ones, angels, Ravana and other top ranked demons and the grand guardian. The only human he feared was the grand guardian because his powers could never match a grand guardian's.
He unleashed a torrent of dark fire, aiming it at Phoebe. "I have been preparing to fight you for centuries. I don't believe that you can win over me." He laughed.
The terrible sound sent cracks splintering in the walls of the tower.
Star raised her hand and lowered it. With a single movement she called upon ancient magic and purest light. It clashed against the dark fire with a force so great that the windows shattered and doors were ripped from hinges. The tower continued to shake, and Rufus ordered for evacuations to continue.
The magical shield around Bradley shattered as Phoebe advanced on him. With every step that she took, she grew larger and more radiant.
"Fuck!" Maureen cursed as she pulled Jennie out of the way lest she be crushed the gigantic foot of Phoebe or Star.
The divine glow around Phoebe blinded Bradley and sucked out all of his magic, freeing every innocent soul that he had sucked over the years. He hunched over and spit blood out of his mouth.
He himself went through changes, turning from a young handsome man to a shriveled old mix of man and monster that barely looked human. He had shrunk to the size of a four-year-old, his body was skin and bones. His clothes were wearing him rather than him wearing them.
His hair was stringy; a foul smell was coming from him. A bitter laugh came from him, that resembled a sound of defeat. "Even if you have captured Enigma, the alphabet has twenty-six letters, if plan a fails we go to b, c up to z." A strangled groan escaped him as his skin peeled back in agony, every muscle taunt with restraint.
His flesh suddenly caught fire and burned like it was being scorched. A hole suddenly appeared in the hall, like the one which appeared when the evil deity was killed.
"No..." Bradley screamed as a force started pulling him down. The ear-splitting screams that came from him.
Star was not finished, she funneled light into Bradley, and he was consumed, his form turning to mist and then to nothing. She erased his very essence, not taking a chance by allowing him to go to hell. The hole disappeared and then the tower stopped shaking and silence filled the air.
Just like that, the dreaded sorcerer that thought he would live forever was no more.
