Chapter 103: He cuddled her and passed out like a lazy cat

On the other side, Ella’s mood had already soured as she rushed back to her dorms.

Before this entire fiasco, she was already exhausted. Not from lack of sleep, but from Adrian King.

Due to the stunt that Adrian pulled last night, Ella couldn’t sleep.

She couldn’t sleep. At all.

The man cuddled her like she was his personal pillow and in no time, she could hear the sound of his steady breathing. And it made her doubt all the time if his doctors were a little confused.

The man... could obviously sleep! So easily at that!

A kiss, a cuddle, and he passed out like a lazy cat.

Meanwhile, she lay there, blushing, boiling, and far from sleeping. The fleeting kiss ran through her mind. Her body? Betraying her. Every damn minute.

In her previous life, she had not unlocked this side of her body that got a little active and heaty easily.

And worst of all? She couldn’t even toss and turn.

Held in Adrian’s arms, she contemplated her life decisions for eternity before dozing off.

And at the crack of the dawn, the old butler came knocking at the door to wake her up. Ella got up with a scare.

Old Madam had arranged two separate rooms for them since in her knowledge, they were boyfriend and girlfriend. But what would she think about her if she got to know that her grandson snuck in to her room in the middle of the night?

An enchanting vixen? A weakness of the stoic heir of the Kings?

However, all her worries were for naught because Adrian was not there in the room.

Hence, carrying her superior dark circles, she forced herself to get ready for the university.

The Old Madam had considerately arranged stylists for her with designer clothes filling an entire room but Ella opted for an oversized sweatshirt and some loose fitted pants, her go-to for the university.

However, another surprise awaited her when she walked out of the mansion.

Two tall and strong men, dressed in black stood by a sleek car and announced that they were her bodyguards.

Befuddled at first, Ella refused them at the moment she came back to her senses. But even after endless convincing, Adrian did not budge.

At least, not until she negotiated with him... cough..some sweet talking... Cough...Cough... Some cheek kisses and some promises about how she would keep him constantly updated about her.

Yes, it was an attack at her dignity. But in front of Adrian-the devil-King, dignity took the back seat.

There was now way Ella could let herself be constantly watched by the man in this life. He wanted her but he would still have to play by her terms at certain times.

No matter how much he scared her, Ella knew that in the end, she has merely changed her ways and approach in this life, not her soul. She could not accept being Adrian’s canary.

Although the bodyguards were gone, she was provided with some self defense weapons that looked harmless but could cause some good harm in times of emergency. For example, the black metal balls from earlier.

It all took place without Old Madam’s knowledge.

And while Ella had thought Adrian was going to drop her at the university, that did not happen.

After arming her with these little weapons and telling them about the uses briefly, the man left with Ji Yan with a hint of urgency.

Ella came to the university in the car he had arranged for her.

She was already late after all this dawdling. But who could have known she would witness the scene of a guy being cornered by a gang?

As soon as the driver left, she made a brief plan to rescue the young man and rushed back to the isolated alley.

Actually, Ella knew better than to meddle in other’s affairs.

But after having gone through a similar experience recently, where she and Ruby were kidnapped from the streets while people were too scared to get involved in it, Ella simply couldn’t close an eye to someone who was in a similar situation.

Then, she happily realized.

She should have closed her eyes when she could.

Because the ’someone’ who was in a similar situation as ’her and Ruby’ was the same person who had put them in that situation in the first place!

Yes, the young man she just saved was ’Mo Jun’, Esther’s fiance.

Ella had very limited and almost close to none encounters with Mo Jun in her previous life, which is why she had missed noticing a couple of detail before.

This very young man was the head of the Black Wolf Gang that had kidnapped her and Ruby.

And she jumped into the fire to save him.

Just thinking about it made her blood boil.

On her way to the dorm, the kids gazed at her on her way and whispered stuff amongst each other.

Ella, in all her rage, reciprocated and return their gazes with a smile that said ’Fine, let’s make each other uncomfortable’ until they could no longer keep staring at her.

Yet, despite the little face off, Ella felt bizarre gazes of the people till she reached the dorm room.

Since she was already very late for classes, Ella did not dilly dally further.

Quickly packing her bag, she turned to leave. However, she halted in her tracks and pulled out her phone.

After thinking for a few moments, Ella tapped on Adrian’s name.

...

In Country A.

’’Ace, it has been so long since we met,’’ An elegant woman was seated on the long couch, her gaze fixated on the man sitting at a little distance.

’’I went to Vermilion City some time ago but mother fell sick. I had no choice but to return early. And then, I heard you were here a few days ago as well?" she continued asking.

Adrian was sitting on a throne chair, the side of his forehead propped on his fist. On his lap, there was a file.

The man went through page by page, visibly uninterested by its content.

After a moment of silence, he acknowledged the other person’s words with a curt, ’’Yes.’’

Lilith did not seemed to mind his crisp reply as if that was a normal thing and she was completely used to it, ’’I rushed to the event when I heard of your presence but you were gone by the time I reached there. They told me you seemed to have some emergency. I obviously did not believe it..."
