After her usual run and breakfast with Adrian, Ella was ready for some leisurely morning time until he sat her down with that all-too-familiar ’you need to study’ look on his face.

Ji Yan lingered by the door with two phones, one laptop and a pile of files in his hand.

Yet, Adrian did not leave the room till he had wrapped up the formulas till the last Chapter.

Apart from the scratch of her pen against the paper and some quality time spent with Riri and Ella, Ella’s day drifted quietly—until Adrian decided to up his game at night.

And what he did was shockingly helpful for Ella.

For every formula he had explained and made her note down, he wrote down two example questions, relatively ’easy’ as he called it.

One of those example questions, he solved for her, step by step, while explaining.

And then a dumbstruck Ella was asked to solve the row of the second example questions.

Ella doubtfully took the notebook from his hand and when she tried, she realized that she managed to solve the first question with minimal errors.

By the third question, she paused. Her hands trembled around the pen. Adrian King was no mortal. He couldn’t be!

Not when he just made her solve algebra so effortlessly.

The gaze she looked at Adrian changed a little, filling with reverence.

But little did Ella know, this was just the beginning.

The next two days, Adrian solely focused on correcting the mistakes that she had made in the given examples and making her practice more questions.

As the saying went, one should never doubt their teacher.

Yet, by Saturday evening, Ella had a nagging feeling in her chest and she eventually couldn’t help but question him—When are you going to teach me History?

The man remained mum about it.

Ella was a little anxious. The exams were starting on Monday and History was the fifth and last paper and the one that she was most worried about.

She was weak at Maths, but not hopeless. Adrian’s teaching somehow made sense to her, even though she’d left studies over a decade ago, counting her previous life too.

But History was different. Ella did not know a single thing and even if Adrian sat to teach her stuff, she doubted she would remember anything.

Yes, she might remember a few short questions as a homage to his beauty but that was that.

So albeit having almost five days left for History paper, Ella was a little worried. Especially when her great tutor Adrian King remained quiet about it.

But the very next day, Ella remembered the reason why she had thought of Adrian as an immortal.

Because he made the impossible possible.

Soon, it was the day of the exams.

Since Ella was in the Eve Mansion, she got up early and packed her stuff.

Before leaving, she cuddled both Riri and Lala. In each other’s company, the puppy and kitten seemed to be flourishing because they resembled two fluffy stuffed toys together by now.

Like Riri, Lala seemed to have shyly acknowledged Adrian and Ella as her parents as well.

And while Adrian might deny it, Ella could swear that she saw him sneaking some curious gazes at the kitten.

However, all good things must come to an end. The days of leisure in the Eve Mansion ended as Ella had to return to the university.

"Baby, thank you for dropping me here," Ella leaned in and pressed a soft kiss on Adrian’s cheek.

Just as she was about to pull back, an arm wrapped around her waist, holding her in place.

Ella was caught off guard by the abrupt movement.

As her eyes met Adrian’s, she spotted a hint of fire in them. And suddenly she choked on her breath.

Ji Yan, overdosed with the high dosage of dog food, instantly lifted the partition in the car.

Adrian leaned closer to her wordlessly.

Ella was clueless. What...?

The arm around Ella’s waist tightened.

And his beautiful face zoomed in on her view.

Ella did not know if it was her illusion but his bottom lips seemed to be slightly jutted out.

Before her mind could process things, Adrian grabbed her hand and led her finger to his lips.

Feeling the coolness under her fingers, Ella’s brain malfunctioned for a while.

But then she felt the man’s lips moving, "Here." He uttered one word.

And Ella began to doubt her entire existence.

Did... Adrian just ask her for a kiss on his lips?

Ella looked at him like he was growing two heads.

Adrian did not rush her nor did he show any signs of impatience. But his grip on her waist did not loosen.

When she did not move for a while, Adrian’s long lashes lowered slightly.

Suddenly, he felt a softness on his face. Ella cupped his face with both her palms, leaned in and pecked his lips.

It was a butterfly kiss, barely skimming above the surface.

Yet, Adrian’s deranged brain gave a series of ’beep beep’ and he remained frozen in his spot.

By the time he came to his senses, Ella was already standing outside the car, beaming at him.

"Baby, don’t you worry! As your student, I will make you proud."

As Ella skipped away the university gates, Adrian leaned back on the car seat, barely registering the soft touch on his lips.

Ji Yan pulled up the partition.

"Second Master, before this, Miss Yu didn’t want to study before but it seems like she is determined to do well now..."
