Reborn: The Tyrant's Obsession-Chapter 39: Category 5 Hurricane. No survivors.
Chapter 39: Category 5 Hurricane. No survivors.
What a lucky day! Who could have known she would chance upon a scene like this?
She was just thinking how to make Adrian lose interest in Ella even further and the situation came knocking on her door.
Looking at the pictures and then the short video of Ella struggling like vermin on the floor, she smirked.
Men all like to have women they can publicly flaunt and be proud of.
After all, which man would tolerate a woman who has been publicly humiliated and laughed at?
And especially someone as noble as Adrian King... could he ever tolerate that?
Ella, oh, Ella, let’s see how you deal with this one!
...
In the King Empires.
In the conference room, the employees turned in the reports one by one while summarizing the details of all vital projects that they had undertaken.
The atmosphere was cold but still somehow, the poor employees felt comforted for some reason.
Because while their Boss seemed like his usual self, he seemed a bit... happy?
They could only look at Secretary Ji to sate their curiosity but the man maintained a mysterious smile on his face while standing behind Adrian. freёwebnoѵel.com
At this moment, Adrian’s phone beeped.
Secretary Ji’s eyes glowed.
Noticing his glowing gaze, the rest of the people also looked at the phone with twinkling jellyfishes in their gaze.
Some of them who had been a part of the online meeting over a week ago had an epiphany.
Was it that great lady again?
They could never forget how they had dodged the calamity of being worked to death.
Their Boss was about to give them two days to wrap a complicated project. But upon the Lady’s arrival, their Boss suddenly acted like an angel and gave them two months to wrap the work instead!
After a while, the man did not move to pick up the phone.
The expectant gazes dimmed. As expected, their Boss couldn’t really be seriously involved with some lady!
But then...
The man lazily leaning back against the swivel chair suddenly moved...
He picked up the phone and swiped it open.
And suddenly, a thunderous wave swept over the entire meeting room.

A storm brewed in Adrian’s eyes.
Danger alarms blared in Ji Yan’s head and he immediately leaned forward.
On the brand new phone, there was a picture on the display. In the picture Ella was on the floor, atop a beautiful girl.
It seemed to Ji Yan that the ladies had tripped but probably due to the angle of the picture clicked, it looked rather... compromising...
And that still should be an issue. But seeing the second master... it did not seem like he liked it much.
Ji Yan glanced at the caller ID and sure enough, it was an unsaved number that he remembered by heart. Why? Because everytime,a message came from this number, a storm was unleashed in his periphery!
This Esther girl got no chill!
Then, Adrian’s finger tapped on the two seconds soundless video attached. In the video one could see Ella trying to get up from the floor and then falling back again.
Attached to it was another picture of after Ella took that lady’s hand to get up.
There was a message right under it: [Mr. King, I was initially concerned about my sister so I came to check on her. But it seems like she is having a fun time here. I am sending this to you so that you can also stop worrying too much.]
The fingers that held the phone titled till Ji Yan could see them turning pale. Veins popped up on Adrian’s hand and the danger alarms that had gone dull blared to life again as Ji Yan instantly assessed the situation.
Category 5 Hurricane. Dark Skies. Thunder. No survivors!
Sure enough...
In the next moment...
A phone flew across the room.
With a loud sound, it hit the wall and shattered as it descended to earth in pieces.
’GASP’
Silence. A long moment of doomed silence.
Unaware of the storm brewing in the King Empires, Ella was faced with a dilemma in the Imperial University.
As she looked at rows upon rows of seats, she suddenly realized that she had no idea where to sit.
She would have shamelessly settled next to Ruby but the girl seemed to have a deskmate already. The sitting arrangements seemed to have been deliberately done.
And if her guess was not wrong, they had probably done it on the basis of the grades.
But, she had taken admission and appeared for the first exam only. She did not even know her results from then.
So, there was no way for her to know where to sit, especially when most of the seats were occupied.
At this moment, the entire class suddenly sat erect.
’’Good morning, sir!"
With the chorus, an old man entered the class. His gaze scanned over the place before settling on Ella who was sticking out like a sore thumb, ’’Is this your first time in the class?" The man asked, a frown marring his face.
"Yes,’’ Ella did not deny.
She had been to the university a couple of times during her first year. Back then, she had yet to gain weight so it was natural for this person to not remember her.
But she remembered him due to his unique name. Professor Grimwood. And as his name went, he was grim and wooden-faced most of the time as if someone had stolen his wife away.
The class scoffed, awaiting to watch Ella’s doom.
But after a while, the man just waved his hand impatiently, ’’Why are you not taking a seat then?"
’’I am sorry, sir but I don’t know where my seat is.’’
Following her words, the entire class looked in a specific direction.
Grimwood also looked over, ’’There you go. Ain’t it obvious?"
"_"
Ella’s lips twitched. Was it... that easy?
She tightened her bag and walked off in the direction of her seat.
And surprisingly, she sat on the second bench on the basis of her marks.
The ’second’ from the ’last’.
Why surprising? Because how could there be someone who would even surpass her level of misery and be the last one?
And that too, not just one but...

A/N: Dearies, I want to address something that many of you found unsettling, Esther kicking a puppy (now our Riri) in Ch. 18. Trust me, I was just as disturbed when I wrote that scene. But I didn’t include it just to make her seem evil. As an animal lover, I would never write such a scene lightly.
Sadly, there are real-life Esthers, manipulative people who pretend to be kind in front of humans but unleash their cruelty on helpless animals or even babies(heartbreaking, I know). I’ve seen it happen, spoken up against it and that’s why I wrote that scene, to portray reality, not to glorify it.
I don’t force my characters into a mold, I let them act as they would. But please know, sweeties, I would never write something just to hurt you. Thank you for your love and support. <3
