Reincarnated as the Elder's son: My Infinite Shop Points System-Chapter 17: Death of the monsters.
Chapter 17 - Death of the monsters.
Baam!
Jared sat on the bed, his hands resting on his knees as he looked to the ground.
At the other side of the bed was Ria, already fast asleep.
After it was dark, and they got to the village, the villagers had already forgotten about Ria as expected.
They were confused as to why their young master was bringing a stranger into the village, especially considering previous incidents.
Lucy was in fact one of the few people who didn't seem to question him much.
It was then he explained to them about the curse and how it worked.
And as expected again, the villagers found it hard to believe.
So he told them,
"If I was to ever be with a stranger that happens to be a girl, regardless of if you don't remember her, if I tell you she is my sister, then she is my sister."
Since the curse was tricky in itself, Jared didn't know how it was going to work.
From what he knew, people forget everything about her, including what they have done together the previous day.
He knew it wasn't going to work as well as he thought it would, but still, until he was able to come up with a solution, this excuse would suffice.
It took a while, but the villagers were able to accept what he told them.
To his surprise, the women in the village immediately began to take care of Ria, trying to spend as much time as they could with her, knowing there was a chance they would forget about her the next day.
'Which is why I need to find a cure...'
Jared said to himself while looking at the template.
[Ability card.]
[Curse resistance - 3400sp.]
[Curse detection - 3200sp.]
[Curse affiliation - 4000sp.]
[Curse transfer - 7000sp.]
He stared at the product.
For hours he had been searching for a means which could help him heal his sister. So far, all the products he had seen were all preventions; nothing could actually heal her.
'Is this really all?' he said with a tired expression.
[Shopping items are updated weekly.]
[Any item you need might be added at the end of the month.]
'That doesn't sound reassuring.'
It was then Jared got a peek at the last item on the list.
[Curse transfer (7000sp) - This item allows you to transfer a curse from one victim to another.]
His eyes widened in surprise and a bit of hope.
It definitely cost a lot, but for the price to make his sister part of society again, it was nothing.
Hell, he was even willing to sacrifice his smartphone for it.
"Buy!" He clicked on the screen.
[Curse transfer - 7000sp.]
[Current sp - 12,000sp.]
[Would you like to proceed?]
This content is taken from fгeewebnovёl.com.
Jared didn't quickly realize it, but there was no way he could fully survive off the sp the system gives alone. It was about time he thought of another way.
Sighing, he replied...
'Sure.'
[Request confirmed.]
[Curse transfer has been purchased.]
[You have 5000sp left.]
As he sat there, Jared tried his best to hold back his tears. He was already hungrily biting his finger as he stared at the notification, as if wanting to ask it for a refund.
At the end of the day, he had planned to use it for a smartphone.
In his moment of sorrow, a voice called out to him from outside his room.
"Lord Jared, are you awake?"
Jared recognized the voice almost immediately.
"William? What do you want at this time of day?" Jared slowly stood up and began to walk towards the entrance.
"I had just finished my patrol around the village and thought I should show you something," William responded.
Now opening the curtains, Jared looked at William, his tall and muscular appearance almost overshadowing him.
"Uhh? What could it be this time?"
Jared followed William towards the fences that were built around the village for protection against magic beasts.
And while it did work to protect them, there was also something they didn't quickly get a sniff of.
His eyes opened in shock, arms folded and lips slightly parted, Jared bore witness to the countless number of dead monsters lying outside the village.
Their skin was crisp and dry, which showed they were either electrocuted to death or were struck by thunder, which was then less believable.
"What in the hell?.."
"I found them while patrolling. At first, I didn't know what could have caused it, until I saw another beast die right after making contact with the fence," William clarified.
"I didn't think it could actually kill a magic beast." Jared moved closer, "Quickly, turn it off, go over there and pull out the crystal from the joint."
Immediately, William did as he was told and pulled the crystal out, which immediately stopped the electricity from flowing through the wires.
Once that was done, Jared flew over the fence with the fire torch in his hand.
Placing one hand on the huge bear on the ground, he smiled, almost sadistically.
'This wasn't part of my plan at all, but it works regardless. There's no need for me to keep getting food from the system if we can just wake up to fresh meat every morning. Why didn't I think of this in the first place?'
Suddenly, he looked up at William, the grin still playing on his face.
"Let's carry the corpses into the village. Only carry those that feel warm into the barn. The rest should be placed close to the farm," he ordered.
"Right now?"
"Yes. Just wake up the rest; we need to do this now," Jared said before standing to his feet, his hands gently resting on his waist.
As always, he already knew what he was going to do with the dead bodies of the beasts.
"Lady luck sure loves me if she's bringing solutions to my front door. Heheh~ this isn't even about money, and I'm already watering at the mouth."
