"I can hear the people downstairs clearly. Like the middle-aged woman on the tenth floor is scolding her daughter-in-law for being lazy and not waking up early to make breakfast for the family even though her daughter-in-law had already said that she has a fever.

On the twelfth floor there is a child crying asking his mother to buy him fried chicken. Then there is an uncle on the fifteenth floor comforting his wife who is worried about something having happened to her parents since they are far from here."

By the time Lu Tao had finished recounting, even the elders had already realized that something unusual was happening. There was no way a normal human being could have such good hearing.

Having the ability to hear what someone is saying on the tenth floor while on the nineteenth floor is completely abnormal.

I could see the drops of blood falling from the cut. That is definitely not normal. How could I see drops of blood so clearly when I was so far away?" Lu Tao finally realized that something was wrong with him, not just his ears, but his eyes too.

Lu Zhen put down his chopsticks and looked around the table, only to find that all eyes were trained on him.

"What happened last night was not some meteor shower or just meteorites falling from the sky and causing a disaster that the government could take care of." He started to explain,but Lu Tao cut him off.

"Wait, big brother, what do you mean by not a disaster that the government could take care of?"

Lu Zhen took a deep breath and turned to look at his younger brother. He wondered how he ended up with such a jumpy and talkative brother.

"If you let me finish then you will find out." He said with his usual serious face.

Seeing that serious face, Lu Tao shrank his neck and nodded, "Okay, I won’t interrupt again." He had forgotten how stern his brother could be just because he had seen him looking at his sister-in-law with a gentle gaze and talking to her in a gentle tone. How misleading.

"From now on, things are not going to go back to normal. The issue with Lu Tao is not some temporary side effect of the meteorites. It’s a permanent ability that could be very helpful in the future." Lu Zhen didn’t really know if they understood what he meant, or if they understood the gravity of the situation.

"You mean there is more to this meteor shower than meets the eye?" His mother asked.

"Ah Zhen, you are not joking with us, are you?" Aunt Li asked this as she couldn’t fathom the concept of the world ending.

"Aunt, there are some things that cannot be joked about. I am serious. The apocalypse began yesterday with the first meteorite that fell.

Some type of gas or energy released by those meteorites have caused mutation in the human DNA. That’s why Lu Tao developed his hearing and vision abilities.

Now he has super hearing and supervision.

I have fire ability and Panpan has water superpower." Lu Zhen continued to explain everything to the family.

He knew that it was difficult to understand, but he hoped that they could accept the situation soon as that would prevent trouble.

"You and Panpan have abilities too?" Li Yunjia was really shocked this time. She hadn’t expected all her children to acquire superpowers after sleeping for one night.

"Yes, we have awakened superpowers as well. The sooner we accept this situation, the sooner we can plan for the future." Lu Zhen expressed his thoughts.

"So, your weird behavior with Panpan these few days was because you knew something was about to happen. That’s also why you had me bring your brother here although he has just started school." It was a statement, not a question as Li Yunjia had already had her doubts before. Now, they were confirmed.

"You could say that, that’s also why I wanted my uncle and aunt here in case something happened, we could protect them." Lu Zhen didn’t beat around the bush and confirmed his mother’s speculations.
