Shrouded Seascape-Chapter 1111. The Trio
Chapter 1111. The Trio
The constant opening and closing of the furnace door in the middle of the pile of steel generated terrifying clanking noises along with powerful heat waves.
Anna instantly recognized it. It was the Shattered God, but compared to before, when it was just a large piece of steam machinery, the current Shattered God resembled a movable steam fortress.
It seemed to have pieced together fragments of itself, becoming more complete.
The Shattered God's betrayal had allowed it to obtain quite a few benefits from the IMF.
The hollow and incomplete bronze doll was placed at the forefront of the castle. The constant opening and closing of the furnace door cast intermittent shadows on the doll's face.
It scanned everyone arrogantly with its eyes made out of bronze gears. "Who? Who dares to offend the Great God of Cogs and Gears, Mekhane!"
The various machinery in the flames behind it came to life. The steel plates on those machines clapped at once, extinguishing the flames in an instant.
The steel glowing hot red from the flames converged in midair and pieced together to form various weapons. Then, a grotesque, sizzling noise echoed as they were installed into the Shattered God's believers.
The flames had scorched their bodies so badly that they lost every inch of their skin, but they still propped themselves up using their brand-new steel limbs.
Jackal's face turned grim at the sight. This wasn't what the High Priestess had told him. The Shattered God was far more powerful than she had described.
Just then, gun barrels sprouted from the Shattered God's figure.
"Die, foolish heretics." It drew a bead on its enemies and was about to unleash a hell of bullets to slaughter the Fhtagnists when—
The Shattered God keeled over backward and fell to the ground.
The guns swept past the heads of the Fhtagnists and aimed at the sky.
"What?" The Shattered God was shocked to find that its limbs had somehow melted into the ground. Before it could pull them out, a green pillar of flames burst out, piercing its bloated figure.
Its steel form slowly melted before being reduced to ashes. The Shattered God moved swiftly and severed the burning parts of its body before retreating from the green pillar of flames at breakneck speed. freewebnσvel.cѳm
Despite having survived the sneak attack, the Shattered God didn't immediately counterattack. Instead, it retreated in fear; its previous arrogance had vanished without a trace.
The face on the bronze doll revealed deep fear and hesitation as it stared at the ground. "How is this possible? This is absolutely impossible! I must be mistaken!"
"Mistaken? No, you're not mistaken. I'm indeed still alive. Long time no see, my... ally."
The sight of Anna emerging from the ground as if she were walking up a staircase left the Shattered God with no thoughts of resistance. It turned around at top speed, preparing to flee for its life.
"315! 315 is still alive!" it roared, its voice filled with panic and fear. It didn't fear 315, but it feared the existence behind 315. It was so afraid of it that it couldn't muster even the slightest courage to put up a bit of resistance.
The only thing it could do was reveal the truth to the IMF and let them deal with 315.
Swoosh!
Green fireballs manifested before the Shattered God, forcing it to come to a halt.
"Don't be in such a hurry to leave, my ally. To be honest, I've been thinking about you a lot recently, and I've been wanting to have a really good... chat with you."
The bronze doll pleaded, "Miss Anna, I had no choice! I really had no choice!"
"Do you know? I hate being betrayed the most. I hate it more than my husband!"
A wave of green flames swept across the Shattered God, and the steel limbs that it had been using to support itself were severed. The massive steel fortress collapsed to the ground.
The Shattered God desperately used its severed limbs to scoot backward as if it were rowing a boat.
Anna grabbed the furnace door that was about to close and opened her palm, revealing a green fireball.
"No! Don't!! I know I was wrong! I made a mistake!" the bronze doll pleaded. It was truly terrified.
"So you finally know that you were wrong? Did you not have any idea that you were about to do something wrong by selling me out?" Anna asked. Then, she hurled the green fireball into the furnace.
The fiercely burning flames within the furnace were instantly polluted, taking on a green hue. Unfortunately for the Shattered God, these green flames weren't satisfied with staying only in the furnace.
They rapidly shuttled through the Shattered God's figure. Before long, green flames spurted out from various parts of its body.
The Shattered God was going to die; it would suffer the fate of being devoured by Anna's corrosive flames from inside and out.
"Ahh!! It hurts!!! It's devouring me!! Anna! Spare me, and I'm going to become your subordinate! My abilities, my believers, and my everything! They're all going to be yours! Save me!!" the Shattered God roared.
Faced with its pleas, Anna shook her head slightly and replied, "Without loyalty, it's all meaningless. If you can betray the IMF as easily as drinking water, you can definitely do the same to me."
Anna stared intently at the Shattered God. She was going to watch it die a fiery death, but before she could even enjoy the show, the green flames all over the Shattered God abruptly disappeared.
Then, its broken figure was restored.
What? Everyone present thought the same at the same time.
Anna was about to say something when she suddenly found herself unable to speak. It wasn't a temporary loss of speech. Instead, her mouth had disappeared completely. Anna touched where her mouth was supposed to be, but she felt only a smooth patch of skin.
"Sis, watch out! There's someone behind you!" Gao Zhiming roared.
Anna turned around and saw three humanoid creatures with no facial features rising slowly from the ground in front of her.
The trio clad in flowing white robes towered roughly three meters tall as they looked down at everyone from above.
Jackal and the others were about to make a move when one of the trio waved his right hand. Silver shackles appeared out of thin air, shackling the hands and feet of everyone present.
The clown flew over, but he was engulfed by a box that was conveniently just the right size for him.
The Shattered God turned toward the trio as if they were his saviors and hurriedly shouted, "She's Anna! She's 315! 315 is still alive! She's still alive! Hurry up and kill her!"
Anna was shackled along with everyone present. She couldn't see the shackles, but she could feel that they were incredibly durable.
"You're Anna? 315?" the trio asked, looking at the disguised Anna with some doubt. They found the Shattered God's statement to be hard to believe.
Meanwhile, Anna stayed silent, pondering over something. The abilities of the trio were strange—they weren't ordinary psychic abilities. In addition, their abilities were familiar.
One of the trio waved his hand, and Anna's disguise was wiped clean.
The trio instantly became nervous upon realizing that they were indeed staring at the real Anna.
"3, go and tell the others that Anna is still alive! Hurry!"
One of the trio, who was just a bit shorter than the other two, vanished on the spot. The way he disappeared reminded Anna of someone.
