Snowstorm: I'm Super Rich in the Apocalypse-Chapter 59 - Killing is Very Easy
Chapter 59: Chapter 59: Killing is Very Easy
Chapter 59 -59: Killing is Very Easy
Li Aixue, frightened, fell to the ground, her hand slashed by broken glass, not even feeling the pain: “Don’t kill me, I was wrong, Gu Pan, I really was, please spare me.”
Gu Pan didn’t waste any words, or even a glance, as she went straight over and slit Li Aixue’s throat, then used Li Aixue’s scarf to block the spurt of blood, so as not to soil her clothes.
After twitching a few times, Li Aixue quickly stopped breathing.
Gu Pan and the others searched directly to the top floor, where no people were found, but the goods were plenty, all at the highest level – two bags each of rice and flour, two boxes of noodles, instant noodles and self-heating hotpot enough for two boxes, a box of snacks, two boxes of frozen vegetables and fruits, a box of frozen dumplings and steamed buns, and a box of cooking oil, salt, soy sauce, and vinegar.
Other daily necessities like toilet paper, laundry powder, shower gel, and facial cleanser were also abundant.
Looking at these things, Gu Pan waved her hand: “Take it all back.”
There were hand trucks in the room for moving stuff up and down floors, and a slide car on the first floor; they quickly transported all the goods back. After all, with no one watching at night, it was easy to lose them.
Cheng Yang and Chen Lang went upstairs first, dragging the corpses blocking the hallway down and dumping them by the entrance door.
Then they brought up the acquired supplies, leaving the remaining corpses to be dealt with in the bright light of the next day. Currently, they didn’t care for the gaze or thoughts of others; they did all this at their own convenience.
That night, the other residents of the building didn’t sleep, knowing the magnitude of the battle outside. They barricaded their doors with whatever they could move, fearing sudden intruders.
Not only them, but residents of the nearby buildings also slept poorly due to the loud and numerous gunshots. After the apocalypse, who didn’t understand what this meant? They were all fearful at heart, not knowing what this signified for them, but they all knew that staying alive was getting harder.

Today Gu Pan and the others were truly exhausted. After going back to wash up, they fell asleep. It wasn’t until after nine the next day that people started to speak on the intercoms.
After breakfast, they all came out to clean the hallway and, unexpectedly, the corpses had already been cleared away.
The building superintendent approached them, a face full of obsequiousness: “We’ve taken care of the bodies. From now on, this complex is under your control. Being neighbors in the same building, we hope you’ll look after us in the future.”
Gu Pan looked at the thin building superintendent: “We never intended to play king of the mountain, we won’t do anything to you.”
This was unexpected to the building superintendent: “You’re not collecting protection fees?”
Gu Pan replied: “I won’t protect you either. What fee would I charge?”
The building superintendent wanted to say something but didn’t know what. However, one thing was clear to her: “With you guys in this building, we feel safer. We’ve benefited from your presence, so helping out is only right. You’re busy so I’ll be heading back.”
Gu Pan admitted this building superintendent was savvy. Now she wasn’t trying to morally blackmail her anymore, it seemed the apocalypse could indeed change a person.
After the building superintendent left, Gu Pan and her group cleaned the steps with snow again to ensure that when the weather warmed up, the bloody water wouldn’t become a source of contamination.
At that moment, the lady from 301 came up: “Need any help?”
Gu Pan answered: “No, it’s almost done.”
The lady from 301 said: “I guessed you would definitely beat Li Dong and his gang.”
Something felt off to Gu Pan in those words, a guess wasn’t made today upon seeing the corpses: “Did you already know Li Dong was going to attack us?”
The woman from 301 suddenly realized her mistake and hurriedly waved her hands: “No, no, you misunderstand, it was just a saying. I’ve water boiling at home, I’ll head back now.” With that, she hurried downstairs.
Her family indeed knew about this yesterday, because their son was harmed by Li Dong, so they enquired about Li Dong’s side every day. They knew someone on Li Dong’s side, so they exchanged supplies for information.
When they learned Li Dong intended to attack Gu Pan and her group, she was elated. Although she didn’t know which side would win, the person responsible for her son’s death was likely to be injured or killed, and that was what they wanted to see.
Therefore, they naturally wouldn’t tell Gu Pan, lest Gu Pan’s group wouldn’t want to fight and would flee, meaning no one would avenge their son.
They moved the most bodies today, because of happiness. Now, unable to contain her excitement, she wanted to revisit the scene, even finding joy at the sight of the blood, speaking too eagerly and letting slip some truth.
Watching the woman from 301 leave, Gu Pan turned to Lu Ruisheng: “I guess they had inquired beforehand too, but didn’t tell us, possibly afraid we’d flee and no one would avenge their son.”
Lu Ruisheng nodded: “Likely so, but to speak or not is their right, we don’t need to solve everybody.”
Gu Pan agreed: “True, best to keep such people at a distance.”
Cheng Yang and the others were listening, and not only them, many families in the building were eavesdropping through their door cracks, now also understanding the ulterior motives of the third floor, privately discussing how offending Gu Pan and her group would play out.
However, Gu Pan and her group didn’t treat the third floor as a big deal. After cleaning up, they returned, distributed the captured supplies, and then rested for the afternoon. After all, they needed to recover from the battle.
Later, Gu Pan and Lu Ruisheng took some noodles and frozen vegetables to Ding Weiguo’s home.
Knowing which building but not which unit he lived in, they stood at the bottom of the building and called out.
Ding Weiguo quickly responded from his window and then came downstairs to meet them.
Gu Pan and Lu Ruisheng didn’t intend to go up, so they waited downstairs for Ding Weiguo.
By now, Ding Weiguo was mostly aware of what had occurred and felt fortunate he was sought out and won over by Gu Pan’s group beforehand. Otherwise, he probably wouldn’t have survived yesterday.
After coming downstairs, Ding Weiguo approached them: “I thought you would run, but you’re truly formidable. Eight against over thirty, it seems justice always prevails, just like in the spy dramas, I’m also lucky I chose the right side.”
Gu Pan and Lu Ruisheng were a bit embarrassed. This man had watched too many spy dramas, though he had a kind heart, in the apocalypse it’s hard to say whether that’s good or bad.
So Gu Pan didn’t get too involved in discussing this: “This is what you deserve, and if you ever decide to join a group, be sure to observe carefully before deciding.”
Ding Weiguo took the supplies: “I understand, thank you. You are a just group, could I possibly join you?”
Gu Pan decisively rejected: “We don’t plan on adding more people.”
Ding Weiguo also knew he had nothing exceptional to offer that would make them accept him, so he said: “I hope that when I’m able, there might be a chance to follow you.”
Gu Pan smiled: “Making yourself strong is right. Once you’re capable, you’ll have more choices. Good luck.”
Ding Weiguo nodded in acknowledgment.
