Chapter 24 - Blown To Bits
The chemical reactions, as long as they had sufficient energy, continued around his arm and grew further. Sooner or later, he knew they'd break this equilibrium and react with air.
The atoms in the air would not be enough to continue balancing the reaction and there could be a violent backlash. If that thing touches his skin, he'd be on the receiving end of it.
"What would happen if I entrap you in a block of ice, would you survive the reaction or be blown to pieces?" Silas asked, feeling the man's trembling, then his eyes turned resolute.
He hurled the man into the air, but before he was left behind by the fast moving train, a block of metal was torn off the tunnel's ceiling and placed before him as he slammed into it.
"You were trembling in pain just a few moments ago, thought you could beat me with a weak telekinesis super power?" He shouted as he grabbed the metal sheet suspended in air.

The massive piece of metal was folded into a ball, encasing the stunned man inside. The ball tightened as more and more pieces slammed into it, all for reinforcing the metallic ball.
The layers of metal was numerous stacked upon each other like that, so oxygen couldn't even pass through. Silas lowered his hands, watching as the metal ball dropped to the rails.
In a matter of seconds, the distance between the train and ball had surpassed dozens of metres, and it was left in the dust. Silas raised his arm to shield his eyes from a bright light.
Following the light was a rippling shock wave that nearly knocked him off his feet, then a crackling boom. The smell of soot filled the air as the light finally dispersed and he sighed.

"Did I overdo it?" Silas blinked at the melted rails, then shook his head. After some time he turned around to see a light at the end of the tunnel, "We must be closer to the surface."
Just then, the train halted in its tracks, and Silas stumbled forward. He blinked, turning from left to right, then lowering his gaze, "Did something terrible happen inside the train?"
——
Ice stared at the driver, a short stout man, then at the two men standing by his left and right, aiming their guns at him. She could only watch as he drove the train to a sudden halt.
"Good." The man by his left, tall and slender with dull blue eyes, nodded. He shifted his gun from the man, pointing it to Ice with a cold gleam in his eyes, "I guess she can't leave."
Ice took a deep breath. She had come in hoping for the worst and just as she guessed, it wasn't going to be easy. She felt the cold metal press into the side of her drenched forehead.
This place — she glared out the corner of her eyes, counting four more men guarding the room — was surrounded by the enemy. She was in no position to make any rash movements.
Ice closed her eyes, then drew in a deep breath. The second she opened her eyes, loosing her tensed muscles and exhaling calmly, Ice smirked. She ducked and rolled over to the side.
The first man narrowed his eyes, then he clenched the trigger. The others aimed for her, then followed suit. Each and every of their guns blew up in their grip in a sporadic manner.
Blood splattered across across the ground, with some hands blowing up along with their guns, bits and pieces raining to the ground. Ice smiled hearing the screams of fear and pain.
They rushed away from her, trying to run away from her. She reached out a hand, then clenched a fist. Each of the men were ripped apart by an ice shard expansion in their heart.
"By manipulating the molecules of ice in the air, I transported them across oxygen. They breathed in my minuscule ice shards," Ice explained, "Then I had it explode in their organs."
"Then what about the guns?" The frightened driver looked from left to right, seeing all the men laying dead on the ground, then he lifted his gaze to Ice, "How did those explode?"
"I just sealed off the bullets inside the guns with ice, and as they pressed the trigger, all the bullets which were frozen blew up." Ice started, then she scoffed, "They were careless."
This was an efficient way of dealing with these weapons, and she had to resort to these methods to get rid of them with her limited energy. Ice calmly wiped the blood off her nose.
"I'll quickly start the train," The driver turned from the bodies, and back to the console for the train. He pushed various buttons to ignite the train's engine, observing his monitors.
"There aren't any bombs in here." Ice muttered to herself as she turned away from the driver to the other parts of the room, searching every nook and cranny to her satisfaction.
She shook her head, then turned to the door. She'd asked Selena to wait by the door to the security room and it's been a few minutes since then, "I wonder if she's doing alright."
Ice had gained some strength, but she still hurt anytime she tried to use her powers. A few days rest would be enough for her to get back on her feet, if she survives this train first.
Then, the image of Silas flashed in her mind. Ice's pupils narrowed to needlepoint, "This is the last room after the feeding and security areas, and I haven't found the hidden bomb!"
This could only mean one thing, Ice thought. Luke, who was with Matilda at the other end of the train, sneezed. He looked from left to right, the parts had started moving again.
In that short time of pause, Matilda had rushed about and ransacked the engines but to their confusion, no bombs were found. Luke sighed, "I think Ice must have found the bomb."
