The President's Pregnant, Ex-Wife-Chapter 434 - Please, you have to save me
Chapter 434: Chapter 434 - Please, you have to save me
Sabrina was already at Matilda’s side, her heart thumping, and Lizzy was disturbed, fearing the pain that comes with childbirth.
However, since her sister endured it and Matilda was doing the same, Lizzy felt that she would also have the strength to go through it.
A lot of people were already at Matilda’s side, but Sabrina was the closest. She lowered herself beside her friend and asked her, "Tilda, have you been in labor for long?"
The latter nodded her head, and Sabrina’s heart sunk. What she feared had happened, just as Lizzy had discerned.
How could Matilda risk her pregnancy because of a mere wedding? Sabrina was afraid of what might happen to the child in her womb, hoping that there would be no complications.
"Why didn’t you tell me? What is wrong with you? Did you forget that you have to undergo a C-section?" Sabrina scolded her best friend, whose nose kept scrunching up in pain.
She had already heard Robin calling the helicopter emergency services and was only trying to calm Matilda before they arrive.
Matilda had been enduring the pain since she woke up from bed. Devin had asked several times, but she kept saying she was fine. freewёbnoνel.com
Devin did not believe her, though, as he saw how pale she had been. It had even made him lose focus a few times.
Who knew that just as he had excused himself to attend to information Peter sent to him because of the distractions with the wedding, his wife would scream for his attention?
"I couldn’t miss the wedding nor ruin it. I knew you would be late for your wedding or not make it if I showed any signs," Matilda said in a teary voice.
She had expected Sabrina and Robin to tie the knot again for so long that she could not bear to ruin it. Also, she knew that labor takes hours before delivery.
The last time she had a check, the doctor had also said that they could try the natural way since Matilda’s situation had improved because of how she took care of herself and took her vitamins.
It was the reason why she felt that should her labor progress, she could as well give birth naturally.
It was a risk, though, for as long as she reached a medical institution on time, the doctors would know what to do.
Sabrina felt incredibly guilty. Matilda was going through this because of her. She knew she would have done the same if she were in Matilda’s shoes, but Matilda’s situation was a serious one.
"Tilda, my nephew’s life is more important. The wedding could have waited," Sabrina said seriously.
Before they knew it, an emergency helicopter had already landed as Devin rushed and scooped his wife into his arms to meet the paramedics on the helicopter.
"I’m coming with you," Sabrina said, running after them as Lizzy lifted the tail of her gown and ran after her to prevent her from stepping on the gown’s tail and falling down.
With Devin there, Robin knew that his services were not needed and could only follow his wife to the chopper since he had already promised to be with her everywhere until their enemies were apprehended.
Sabrina wanted to enter the chopper, but Devin refused. He was capable of taking care of his wife and did not want his sister’s happy moment to be ruined.
"It’s your wedding day," Devin said to his sister, who stood there, worried for her best friend.
Matilda was always there for her at all times, so Sabrina could not allow herself to be away from her best friend, even on her wedding day.
"No," Sabrina refused and tried to force her way, but Devin held her back, while his gaze focused on Robin. It was as if they were communicating with their eyes.
"Brina please. Don’t ruin your wedding. Matilda is my wife and I can take care of her. The general would give us all the escorts we need."
It was only after Devin had spoken that they saw another helicopter arrive, realizing that that was the one Robin had called.
The general was the one who ordered for this one to take Matilda to the hospital, being aware of all the risks involved.
Robin pulled Sabrina into his arms before Devin could leave with Matilda. "She would be fine," Robin said reassuringly to Sabrina.
A tear fell from his eyes and she knew it was the right thing to do. She yelled to Devin’s hearing, saying,
"I will be at the hospital as soon as we are done here."
"Okay," Devin agreed this time as Robin instructed the security agents,
"Please make sure that nobody or car leaves this venue without inspection. The girl who spilled the drink on me should also be arrested."

At Hazel’s hideout, she was greatly uncomfortable when she heard Matilda scream and wanted to do something, but the security was too tight and she couldn’t pull any strings on her own. Deflated, she reached out to the fake Robin through the phone. "The woman is in labor. I want her and her baby dead," she ordered angrily.
She wanted the general, her daughter, Sabrina, and Robin to all experience pain through losing something dear.
To her, that would be a mega plan as all the people she mentioned would be going through the same amount of pain together.
The fake Robin felt helpless. It seemed that no matter what they did, success was beyond their reach.
"Maybe you have forgotten, but I clearly remember what her father did to us and he is here too," he reminded Hazel. With the general and his men around, helping the agents Robin had also paid, the fake Robin could only swallow his anger.
Sadly, he was also not seeing which babies Hazel had spoken about, wondering where they had gone to.
Robin was indeed a worthy opponent and from the way things were looking, the fake Robin and his team were falling into the trap of the real Robin.
Hazel could not accept to lose this battle, being certain that just as Daniel and Lizzy had survived the car crash the fake Robin orchestrated, she might be the next loser there was.
"Aren’t your men good enough? Have one of them pose as a doctor to do the job," she demanded seriously, only to be met with a sarcastic response.
It seemed to the old Robin that Hazel could only think straight when it wasn’t directly her revenge plan, but once it was, her brain would cease to function.
"Why don’t you pose as the doctor? This is the opportunity for us to go. Get Brea and let’s go," the fake Robin said seriously as he could hear the sound of footsteps approaching. He was even speaking in a hushed tone to not be heard.
"I won’t get another chance to deal with the woman. You have to help me," Hazel insisted, but the fake Robin refused to agree with her.
Sadly, his move had only led to the agents being more alert and now, he feared how they were going to make a clean exit since Robin had made an open announcement to everyone present.
The moment they see the fake one, he would be recognized and apprehended.
"I refuse to go against a stronger opponent at this time. Robin’s agents and that of the general’s are all over the place."
"What about Sabrina? Are you going to let her go?" Hazel asked, massaging his weak spot to try to change his mind and gain his support for her plans.
"I think we have to live for today to fight tomorrow. I’ve asked a driver to get us another car. I’ll send you the number, so when you see it, just get in and let’s go," the fake Robin instructed.
But Hazel was still reluctant and suggested, "Call Brea on the phone. I’m not leaving while that woman is alive. After her, it would be Sabrina."
Hearing Hazel’s plan towards Sabrina again, the fake Robin didn’t bother to waste his words. The love he once had for this woman had turned to hate.
If anything happened to her, he couldn’t care. "I think you’re on your own. I’ll find Brea and leave."
Hazel refused to go along with the fake Robin’s plans and was seriously looking for one of the paramedics.
But what she didn’t expect was the arrival of the emergency helicopter services. Everything happened so fast that she couldn’t get the opportunity to pretend to be one of the paramedics, as she was too far from them.
On the other side, the fake Robin was able to get in touch with Brea, but his heart sank at her words. "One of the security men told me to wait."
"Why? Wait for what?" He asked eagerly, fear coating his voice as he felt that Robin must have suspected that Brea didn’t accidentally, but intentionally, spilled the drink on him.
Brea explained, "he said there are ongoing investigations. Please, you have to save me."
