Chapter 435: Chapter 435 - You Are Free to Go

Brea had been in hiding after accidentally spilling a drink on the real Robin and Sabrina’s wedding clothes.

Soon, it was time to meet with the fake Robin to plan their next move or head back to Massachusetts, where their underground bunker was.

She emerged from hiding when one of the agents saw her. It was too late for her to escape as he spoke as soon as he saw her, saying,

"Excuse me ma’am, please come with me."

Brea was nervous and wanted to run away, remembering how the real Robin had glared at her with so much hate after she spilled the drink on him.

It was as if he saw the image of Zayla right through her disguise. She could not understand how a man could hate a woman he had never met before.

Yes, Robin made her feel as if they had never met before, even though they had shared a kiss once.

It was at the time he thought her to be the one who donated her kidney to save his life, but still, it was as if Robin was dealing with Zayla through the skin of another woman when they finally met again after so many months.

"Sir, I’m sorry but there is a place I have to be right now," Brea said and tried to escape, but a strong hand wrapped around her arm firmly.

"I’m sorry ma’am, my boss told me to bring you for questioning because of the drink you spilled on the groom of the wedding party."

Brea could feel the fear creeping into her chest. "But that was an accident," she said with a forced smile, but the agent was adamant in letting her go, saying,

"So, you shouldn’t worry. As soon as you finish answering a few questions, you are free to go."

Brea swallowed a lump in her throat as she was dragged away by the agent and sent to a small room. There was nothing of interest to her in that room as the agent said,

"I will call my boss."

Brea stiffened at his words but warmth filled her once again when she heard the ringing of her phone. Being the fake Robin, she had hope that he would save her.

"One of the security men told me to wait," she said in a teary voice.

"Why? Wait for what?" The fake Robin asked eagerly, fear coating his voice as he felt that Robin must have suspected that Brea didn’t accidentally, but intentionally, spill the drink on him. If that happened, then he was as good as dead.

Brea explained to the dismay of the fake Robin, "he said there are ongoing investigations. Please, you have to save me."

The fake Robin was sweating but appeared calm on the phone. Anything involving Sabrina caused him to lose his head, leading to him into trouble.

The decision to make that announcement was one of the problems he had considered. He knew it would bring trouble but went ahead with it anyway.

He couldn’t wait to bring both Brea and Hazel back, but since Hazel had chosen a dangerous path of her own, there was nothing he could do for her.

"Brea, I can’t come there because they are looking for me due to my announcing Robin and Sabrina’s twins," he revealed. Brea agreed that it was the stupidest thing the fake Robin had done, since he was not even able to achieve his purpose.

"Just act normal and insist that the drink spillage was an accident. As soon as you are out of there, let me know and I will send someone to get you," the fake Robin suggested.

Brea forced a smile and was about to say something when the fake Robin spoke again,

"Then again, don’t forget that I look like Robin and he already announced how they should make out the difference. I can’t get his exact outfit so you have to understand."

Brea had totally come into agreement with him at the moment as everything he had said was the truth. They were all in for their personal revenge but needed each other’s support.

"Okay." She was about to say more when she heard footsteps in front of the door. "One of the agents is headed this way so I will call you later."

She ended the call soon after that, as the chief of security agents walked in. Because she had seen this man at the gate when they were coming in, and also had a little rapport with him along the way, she had no idea whether he would believe her lies or expose her.

"Miss, can you tell us something briefly about yourself?" the chief of security agents pulled a chair and sat in front of her. She wasn’t looking at him like before when he saw her, which made him feel better.

They were in a small room at the hotel, which should have been a store room but Robin had other plans for it, which is why he allowed the chief of security agents to use it for a purpose like this.

Brea was now hyperventilating, afraid of what to say. Forcing a smile, she asked, "What would you like to know?"

There was no history attached to her new name since they had not thought about a situation like this and hadn’t made any plans around it.

Brea internally cursed herself for not doing any research and creating a backstory for her new name and identity before agreeing to help the fake Robin.

"Your full name, your family, what you do for a living, and you have to show me some IDs too," the chief of security agents explained calmly.

Since Robin had declared that he should ensure that Robin’s look-alike doesn’t leave the engagement reception, he had entrusted all his agents to involve themselves in this search.

Hearing his agents say that he had the woman who spilled the drink, he felt it was a very good thing. As he could use this woman to get information about the main man he was looking for.

Brea was so scared, she instantly began to think of a way to escape from the agent, saying,

"I’m sorry sir but I don’t remember anything. I don’t remember my family or anything." Her hope had run out and she felt that if she lied about having amnesia, then this man would just let her go.

The chief of security had an indifferent look on his face. Standing up, he made a call without her hearing what he was saying.

"Mr. Jewel, we have the woman who spilled the drink on you and I was hoping that we keep her until the DNA test result was ready," the head of security agents suggested.

At the end of the line where Robin was with Sabrina, though he was curious to know whether or not this woman had something to do with the people he was looking for, he was also careful not to make any mistakes.

"We can’t do that. At least, she should have a name or ID even if she indeed has amnesia. How can we keep her for so long? What if it turns out that she was innocent?"

The chief of security agents pursed his lips as Robin spoke, agreeing that he had a point. If they abducted this woman before later finding out that she was innocent, she could even sue them and he, in particular, might even lose his job for it.

However, he could also not stop himself from the anxiety playing on his mind that the woman was hiding something.

None of the cameras captured anything about her, whether good or bad, up to the point where she reached the stage where Robin and Sabrina were dancing, for which reason they could not tell if her actions were intentional or merely a coincidence.

"Sir, if we let her go, there would be nothing to use to find her if we find out later that she is involved in any of the atrocities," he said in a pleading tone, and Robin was feeling helpless.

"The man who looks like me is very important so how come we are wasting our time on an insignificant person?" Robin asked rhetorically.

He recalled how Grace had innocently been used by Jacob back then to make it look as if Robin was cheating on Sabrina.

Robin felt that he wasted too much time on the wrong person at that moment and did not want to repeat the same mistake. Who knew what would happen if something similar happened again?

"If you keep her and it’s proven later that she was innocent, you shall bear the consequence alone," Robin said over the phone, and the chief of security was disappointed.

He was contracted by Robin so it was Robin’s responsibility to equally share responsibilities in every instruction he gave.

However, if it so happened that Robin was taking himself out of any future mishaps, it did not settle down well with the chief of security, but Robin had already ended the call.

By the time the chief of security agents announced his decision, Brea was shivering from fear.
