The Princess And The Lord-Chapter 1333: The Enemy Attack II

Jack had just gotten into his car when he got a call from an unknown number, he frowned then picked up the phone. Suddenly he heard a panicked voice.

"Jack? Jack, is that you?"

Jack was stunned. "Gavin?"

"Thank goodness you’re okay!" Gavin sound elated.

"Huh, what’s wrong, why is it so noisy, are you in a concert or something?" Jack heard a loud voice behind him.

"Concert my a*s, your guild is on fire, like - literally!" Gavin yelled.

"WHAT?" Jack aghast, then scream "Who attack my Guild!"

"I don’t know, it was already like this when I arrived. At first I wanted to go to Red Angel to meet you guys, but Garry called me to wait for you guys here and when I arrived, the building was already on fire!" Gavin explain.

Jack was silent for a moment before something very important hit him, "Maddy, where is Maddy, have you seen Maddy?"

"Maddy?" Gavin just realized that he hadn’t seen Maddy, he looked left and right for Maddy amidst the chaos, "Dude, I can’t find her, forget it, I’ll go find her!" Gavin hung up the phone abruptly.

Jack then tries to call Maddy several times but he always answers with a robotic voice stating that the number he has called cannot answer the phone.

"FU*K!" He slammed his fist on the steering wheel with a groan as he tried to control his anger, knowing that this was not the right time. Jack started the car then stepped on the gas pedal and sped off.

He didn’t know how many speed limits and traffic lights he had broken before he arrived at his Guild that was engulfed in flames.

Jack slammed on the brakes and his car skidded with a loud screech then he jumped out of the car without bothering to close it again.

He only glanced briefly at his burning building before reaching for his phone to find Maddy’s phone. It was a special taracker that he had planted on Maddy’s phone for her safety. It didn’t take long for him to find Maddy’s phone location not far from his burning building.

Jack rushed to Maddy’s location without a second thought then suddenly a ball of energy shot towards him. Jack quickly dodged to the side and the energy ball hit the ground behind him and exploded.

His heart was pounding not for his own safety but for Maddy, the attack was a sign that something bad was happening, as he suspected, he heard Maddy scream, "Jack!"

Madeline was held by two men who looked similar, maybe they were twins. while Gavin fought with one of the other men. Jack reached for his back and then realized that he didn’t carry any weapons, he forgot he had left his weapon in the trunk of the car.

Jack cursed his stupidity but he didn’t have time to mull over his idiocy. He closed his eyes and cast an earth spell as soon as the ground around Maddy and her enemies started to crack and suddenly the place they were standing on broke creating a sinkhole.

As they fell into the sinkhole, the enemies lost their grip on Maddy. At that moment, Jack quickly swooped down and picked her up after that he jumped to the side. Maddy grabbed Jack’s shirt. She thought she was done for tonight.

"What took you so long!" Maddy complaint with teary eyes,

"Sorry sweetheart, are you okay? Are you hurt?" Jack was relief she looked fine.

"I’m fine" Maddy answered weakly.

"Here, take this, just in case" he handed Maddy a health potion vial just to make sure.

The hands that held the potion vial still trembled slightly but she felt much better now that Jack was here.

The two men who fell into the sinkhole calmly jumped out of the hole without any visible scratch, clearly unharmed.

The two men had similar appearances and similar builds and they both carried similar weapons known as cutlasses.

Cutlass is a type of sword with a curved tip, a weapon usually used by pirates but the enemy’s cutlass is longer and made of a mixture of red metal and bone.

"Dragxtarn, huh?" Jack clicked his tongue. She was surprised at what the Dragxtarn wanted with Maddy, could it be because of his involvement with Garrof and Lloyd but isn’t this too excessive?

"What Dragxtarn wanted in my humble abode?" Jack quipped.

"Give us the girl!" one of the men said in a monotone voice.

Jack frowned in confusion "What do you want with my girl?"

"Who is your girl?!" Maddy reflex refutes it.

Jack waved his hand as if to brush off Maddy’s protest.

the man speaks again in the same robotic tone "She belongs to us - She should return to us!"

Maddy felt her heart pounding. So it was true, they were looking for her! Because of her, Jack, and everyone else in the Guild...

"Oh, he*l no! That’s my girl you’re talking about!" Jack rebuked.

"I’m not your girl!" Maddy denied it firmly.

However, Maddy realized something very important, she grabbed Jack’s wrist in panic, "Jack, where’s your weapon?"

"In the car trunk, I forgot to bring it!" he replied casually.

"What, how could you forget!" Maddy’s voice hitched.

She really wanted to cut off the man’s head and see what was inside!

"Sorry, I guess I worried about you too much!" Jack replied honestly.

Maddy’s cheeks turned red, he still dared to flirt with her in this situation. But all jokes aside, this is no small matter. Facing two Dragxtarns without a weapon was like seeking death.

"Don’t worry, I’ll be fine" Jack cracked his knuckles and at the same time used his gift which was quake.

He hit the ground shortly after the ground started shaking as if it had just been hit by an earthquake, shortly after the ground they were standing on exploded, at that moment, Jack charged at them with his fists in a second the battle commenced.

Maddy was frozen as she watched the fight, but she quickly collected herself. This is not the time to be standing still like an idiot. She knew Jack wouldn’t win just by relying on his gift alone, not when his opponent was Dragxtarn, let alone two of them.

Maddy runs from the chaotic fight to find Jack’s car. Luckily she finds it quickly since it is not far from the burning building and what’s even more amazing is that Jack didn’t close the door and no one had stolen the car! Maddy immediately opens the trunk and finds a rectangular leather box that is where Jack’s weapons are stored.

The weapon was a Zweihander or what is known as a double-hilted sword, but the box was too big and heavy for her to carry by herself, Maddy frantically racked her brain to find a way to carry the weapon box. As she was stressing about how to carry the sword, suddenly something hit the side of Jack’s car.

"AH!"

Maddy screamed in fear and reflexively crouched down but nothing happened. Maddy peeked behind the car to check what was that. It turned out to be just a trolley. Her eyes lit up as an idea popped into her head.

As expected, fighting two Dragxtarns was too much for him. They moved too fast before Jack could cast a spell and their barrage of attacks drained his mana. The enemy’s cutlass finally broke Jack’s protective barrier and managed to slice his stomach.

Jack was pushed to the ground as the enemy attacked him with a sword pointed at him. Jack hit the ground and in an instant a wall of rocks emerged from the ground and blocked the enemy’s attack.

Suddenly, he heard Maddy shout, "Jack, I have your weapon!" She pushed the trolley with all her might towards him.

The trolley carried a familiar rectangular box running freely at high speed towards him. Jack’s mouth twitched as he saw his great weapon being placed into the trolley like a mere grocery.

’oh, whatever!’

Jack didn’t have time to complain about how Maddy treated his beloved weapon, he reached for the box, and in one move he pulled the two-handed sword out of the box. With the sword in his hand, Jack pounced on the enemy.

Maddy clasped her hands together as she watched Jack anxiously, she didn’t know if Jack would win but she was sure his chances would be higher with the weapon in his hand.

The fight was fierce, Jack used his gift to enhance the power of his sword but being attacked from two directions was still not easy for him as one of the enemies managed to sneak up behind him and slashed his back.

"Jack!" Maddy screamed in fright.

Jack turned around and swung his sword, and his quick reaction managed to cut off the enemy’s arm, when the other enemy saw this, he raised his sword and was about to cut off Jack’s head but Jack cast another spell and the ground beneath them exploded and rocks shot up and cut the enemy.

"Uugh!" the enemy groaned in pain, he took a long step back, a moment after the enemy noticed blood was dripping from his arm and face soon after anger flared in the enemy’s eyes.

Jack grinned smugly, "I thought Dragxtarn was stronger than this?"

Jack acting arrogant but the truth is blood kept oozing from his back and stomach, luckily he was wearing a dark jacket so it wasn’t too obvious. cold sweat-damp his palms, he knew he had to end this fight soon before he lost too much blood or worse, Mana.

The hand holding the sword hilt tightened, and his eyes glared at the enemy, he slowly raised the sword above his head then with a loud shout he charged toward the enemy.

The enemy did not want to stand still either, so they lunged forward. Jack chanted the spell again then swung his sword. A moment later a fine line crack ran toward the enemy and then exploded right in front of the enemy but this trick no longer fooled the enemy.

"Aren’t you guys tired of using the same trick!" the enemy taunted.

"What a stupid gifted people" the other enemies sneer.

However, they were surprised when they did not see Jack in front of them, at that short moment suddenly they heard a cold voice behind them

"Hey, behind you"Jack sneaked behind them then swung his sword and slashed both enemies at the same time.

Blood splattered in the air and the enemy fell to his knees with blood flowing profusely. With just a little bit of Jack pressing his sword, the bodies of the two Dragxtarns would be torn in two, unfortunately, Dragxtarn’s bodies were stronger than ordinary people but the Luke that Jack gave was enough to paralyze them.

"What do you think of my new trick?" Jack grinned in satisfaction.

"You..." the enemy gritted his teeth, shame, and anger filled his heart he refused to lose against a mere gifted person like Jack! He was just about to rise from the ground when suddenly a hand gauntlet pierced his chest.

It happened so suddenly, that none of them including Jack had time to react after that the hand grabbed the other enemy’s head and slammed it to the ground until it was crushed into a pile of blood mud.

Jack reflexively took an offensive stance not knowing if this gauntlet’s man was a friend or foe.

"SAMUEL!" Maddy’s eyes widened.
