Samuel ignored Jack’s inquisitive look, he turned his head to Maddy, "Maddy, there’s more coming, we have to go!" he held out his hand.

"Hey, who are you?!" Jack shouted fiercely.

Maddy clenched her fists, she looked at Jack with a complicated gaze. She wasn’t ready to leave but all of this happened because of her, the Guild was burned down, and she didn’t know if anyone who worked there was alive or dead even Jack almost died too. She could handle anything that was thrown at her but not risk Jack’s safety.

Maddy walked towards Jack and put her hand on Jack’s stomach and suddenly a bright light appeared and the blood flowing from Jack’s stomach stopped and shrank not only that but the pain in his back also reduced a lot.

Jack was taken aback. "You’re a healer?"

Maddy smiled weakly, "I’m sorry I lied all this time."

Samuel heard the sound of a car approaching. "Maddy, they’re coming."

Maddy nodded weakly, she reluctantly turned around to leave when suddenly Jack grabbed her arm. "Where are you going, who is this old man? Maddy, tell me!"

Tears welled up in her eyes, she wished she didn’t have to go but too many people would get hurt because of her and she didn’t want Jack to be one of them.

"Don’t..go" Jack tightened his grip.

"Stupid old man!" Maddy grabbed Jack by the collar and pressed her lips to his.

Their first kiss was sweet, and a little salty because of her tears. "I’m sorry..." there was a bitterness in her voice.

Suddenly everything around him spinning and his eyelids felt very heavy, Jack’s body started to sway left and right "Maddy, what...are you...." Jack didn’t have time to finish his sentence as he fell to the ground and fell asleep.

"Sleeping spell?" Samuel guessed.

Jack massaged his aching forehead then the last memory back at him, "Where’s Maddy?!" He jumped to his feet ignoring the pain in his head and frantically looked around him.

"Sorry I didn’t see her anywhere, looks like the enemy took her?" Gavin felt guilty for not being able to protect Maddy.

"No...it’s not the enemy, it’s Samuel Albrecht, Maddy knows him...she went with him" Jack was puzzled by this situation, he himself had difficulty comprehending the situation.

What happens then, each country start to hijack professional workers from other countries by promising a big wages and facilities which means wasting more money but what else can they do, otherwise they cannot build their country.

Plus other than Beast making a nest in abandoned town and village, a lot of country’s leader pretends to have selective memory and begin annexing the neighboring countries teritories which then cause more chaos.

Fortunately Lucas quickly restores the five pillars of heaven to activate the King’s potential barrier around Harland, which protects the kingdom from external threats and can focus on rebuilding the kingdom.

Lory doesn’t know why in this dire situation human greed still has no limits? Can they work together peacefully?

And now he has to sort out which one he needs to prioritize first. He placed the food on a small round table in the corner of the room, then called Lory, "Stop eating that junk, you know a healthy mind—"

Lory sighed in resignation and walked towards the small dining table, where Fred politely pulled out a chair for Lory to sit down, then he sat down across the table. He straightened his back then unfolded the napkin and elegantly placed it on his lap, demonstrating perfect etiquette.

Lory gave a quick glance at Fred and then shifted her eyes to the perfectly cooked steak, the fragrant aroma that wafted into her nose aroused her appetite.

"Oh, do you have any news on Owen, Daniel and Lydia?" Lory started the conversation,

"They are adapting well to the academy, I heard the teachers quite fond of them especially Miss Boyd" Fred replied as he cut his steak neatly without making a sound.

"How about Ethan Hamilton?" Lory immediately put the tender meat into her mouth. She was surprised by the savory taste she had missed for a long time.

"Mr. Hamilton is also doing very well and they are making a lot of progress with the information you gathered from the Aeon institution. I’m glad you like the steak?" Fred saw that Lory was engrossed in her steak.

Unfortunately, because of the enemy, Lory’s return had to be kept a secret even from her own people because that was the only way to ensure that the news would not leak to the enemy.

Lory was silent, not understanding whether something like this was worthy of praise. She doesn’t believe only Lucient choice this path some people mut also think the same like her family, right?
