The Princess And The Lord-Chapter 1397: A Counterfeit
Chapter 1397: A Counterfeit
Lory licks an ice cream chocolate on a park bench while gazing at the gothic fountain with a statue of a goddess holding a vessel surrounded withdoves statue. It’s a stunning piece of architecture with elaborate carving and intricate details, making the park atmosphere feel calm and peaceful.
Children ran around, flying kites, and chasing animal holograms, and their laughter filled the whole park with joy. Meanwhile, Lory notice several people wearing white robes mingling with the residents sharing candy, snack and stuff.
Lory also saw Saintess posters displayed all over the streets, banners and flags of the S.A.I.N.T. organization placed on the sidewalks, and on the giant screen, the Saintess’ picture smiled brightly at her. One can imagine how much money they spent to promote the Saintess.
But still, the most important position in the city, called the Angel Boulevard, is occupied by the giant statue of Alexander Behrenn. Such a grand honor suit for the king and heroes, but alexander behrenn was none of that, he just a religious leader though it’s the largest religious organization in the world but still, it’s appropriated but no one dare to critisized, therefore it was clearly who got the biggest influence in this country.
"Hey, pretty girl, are you alone?"
Lory glanced under the hood of her car. "Aren’t you a little old to be picking up girls, now?"
Fargo pursed his lips. "Is there an age limit for that?"
Lory rolled her eyes. "It’s a matter of decency."
"Hey, no girl’s ever complained before," Fargo snorted and plopped down next to Lory, "Anyway, I still haven’t heard from Uncle Stephan, you know, when he go dark, he go DARK, we couldn’t even find him!"
"You know how careful Uncle Stephan is, besides if information about him in Wellington without official notice known, it will reflect badly on Harland’s image and with Luc’s condition we don’t have time to deal with that matter, and Uncle stephan know this." Lory finished her ice cream then wiped her hand with a tissue and threw it into the trash in front of her.
Lory checked her phone then closed it in disappointment and took a deep breath. Fargo knew what was bothering her, "Once they enter the underground Dungeon, the signal will be cut off, besides, the Dungeon is not like other Dungeons."
"I know.." Lory had read the report, so she understood, but that didn’t erase her disappointment.
Suddenly, Lory and Fargo heard a commotion from a distance, and people ran towards it in such hurry. Fargo turned around and placed his elbow on the top of the bench.
"I think someone is coming," Fargo said.
"Is there a celebrity?" Lory also turned around and then put her elbow on the top of the bench.
A moment later, a man with platinum blond hair and ice blue eyes appeared with his entourage.
"Sean Lockwood?" Lory’s jaw dropped.
"Huh...look who’s here," Fargo chuckled in amusement.
"Well, at least he’s miles away from Lilly," Lory shrugged indifferently.
"Thanks to our formidable PR team, of course!" Fargo winked proudly.
"Oh, what happened? I haven’t had a chance to check on Lily’s situation with Sean Lockwood lately!" Lory’s eyes lit up, eager to hear the gossip.
Lory’s enthusiasm kind of rubbed off on him a little bit. Fargo adjusted his position like a young girl about to share some juicy gossip with her girlfriends.
Fargo pulled out his phone and showed it to Lory. "Look at this."
Lory’s eyes widened when she saw a picture of Sean Lockwood and a woman kissing in a luxurious lounge somewhere.
"Where did you get this?" Lory snatched the phone from Fargo’s hands excitedly.
"A men’s club, called the Gentleman’s Only club." Fargo grinned.
Lor quipped, "Plain and simple, huh."
Lory then went back to checking the photo of the sexy brown-skinned woman, "Who is this sexy woman?" Lory asked.
Just one of the club’s Employees," Fargo made air quotes with his hands.
"Escort?" Lory said knowingly.
"Better yet..." Fargo grinned evilly, "Agent Noxcra."
Lory took a deep breath. "She’s our people?!"
"Of course, do you think we just happened to get her picture?" Fargo flashed a sly smile.
Lory immediately understood, "No wonder the picture quality is so good." Lory handed her phone back to Fargo, "So you made Sean a cheater so Lily would have a good reason to dump him."
"Oh, and you’ll love this, we made Lily out to be a sad, heartbroken girl, and that’s why she moved to Herriond with her family in order to move on from her heartbreak". Fargo clenched his chest with a sad look.
Lory widened her eyes and awed, "Aaahh...nice job Elkhandt"
"Nah, it’s mostly Fred doing, you know how he is, this is a child’s play for him," Fargo waves his hands.
"Yeah, but still...it’s a team effort." Lory handed him a lollipop as a gift.
"Poko chups, hm? Exactly what I need," Fargo sarcastically said.
"I know, right?" Lory smiled sweetly, pretending not to notice his sarcasm. "So, he just gave up?"
"Not really, especially after he was blatantly fed with fake information that led him to fall into the trap." Fargo unwrapped the lollipop with an amused grin.
"What Lily do then?" Lory glance at the handsome man with platinum hair surrounded with girls screaming his name.
When sucking Lollipop, Fargo said, "Miss Hamilton turned out to be smarter than we expected when coming to the public image"
Fargo licked his lips and then continued, "She only needed to squeeze a tear and speak sadly that she would need more time to heal from all of this, and hoped that everyone would understand and give her some space, and we knew who the ’everyone’ she meant to"
"Aah, she forced Sean to retreat, huh?" Lory was amazed by Lilly’s witty movements.
"Yup, if Sean presist people will called him as a shameless scum that tries to manipulate an innocent girls, oh we also release how much Lily’s worth as an heiress of the Ellecant group which then implies Sean motive might not be so sincere ..."
Lory raised a thumb up "Good work everyone, tell all the PR department that I will give them more bonus forthis year!"
"I will gladly relay this message," Fargo bowed his head politely.
All of a sudden, they heard another boisterous scream from where Sean and his entourage stood, and immediately caught Lory and Fargo’s attention. A moment later, the white sedan entered and stopped next to Sean.
The car passanger seat open and a man with long blond hair man exit the door then circle the car and open the other door in courteous manner. When the door opens there she is, the Saintess!
"Oooh, look at that Lory, the Saintess," Fargo said in a cynical tone.
"Let’s look closer!" Lory pulled Fargo’s arm excitedly.
Lory fixed her hoodie and put on a facemask. In the same way as Fargo, he lifted his hoodie on top of his trucker hat, then covered his face with a Facemask, then slowly entered the screaming crowd with Lory.
"Saintess, please bless us!"
"Please, bless my son, Saintess!"
"Please touch my hand!"
"Saintess!"
Saintess waved his hand, he smiled calmly at the crowd and then walked towards them guarded with Salvo de Rova of course. Saintess then kindly shakes hands as much as possible with her fans and gently stroked the head of a girl who shouted for blessing for her child, immediately everyone scream exploded and everyone praised The Saintess oever and over again.
Sean struggled not to roll his eyes seeing everyone worship the Saintess wholeheartedly, if only they knew who Alinna was would still adore her.
His icy blue eyes dart to Salvo de Rova, watching how tenderly he treated the Saintess, it’s no wonder many people think he and the Saintess is an item, but he knew better. Salvo De Rova is cold to the core, even to his own blood family, and for him the organization goal is above everything even himself.
Lory’s curiosity arose since the first day she learned about the Saintess, she wanted to know what kind of woman she was. From the outside, she looked like an innocent and sweet girl with big sparkling blue eyes, small pouting cherry lips, and a small nose. She looked like a small animal; she was a different kind of beauty from Lory, which wasn’t bad, but there was something strange about her style.
"You notice she changed her style and makeup from her first appearance, right?" Fargo whispered to Lory.
Lory narrowed her eyes as she analyzed the saintess’s style. At first, she saw the saintess on the news. She used to wear a long, flowing white dress and let her long hair loose, which added to her angelic beauty.
Now, the Saintess wore a formal knee-length dress, although still white. She cut her long blonde hair far above the waist and made it wavy, then neatly swept it to one side.
"Do you think her style looks familiar?" Fargo scoffed.
"Um..." Lory felt like she had seen this style before.
Fargo knew Lory must not have realized, "The style is very similar to yours in the past."
"Whaat?" Lory’s eyes widened.
"I told you he was trying to imitate you, since the real thing is gone, they thought we would be satisfied with a cheap counterfeit." Fargo stared at the Saintess with contempt.
Lory had heard of it before, but never took it seriously. The saintess is not the first woman who likes to mimic other people’s styles to add their style, but unlike other people, the saintess’s intention is more deceiving.
