The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 307: A couple without a straight answer.
The closest word professor He could equate to warm was comfortable. As she turned around and resumed her slow paced walk, she evaluated whether warm was good or excellent.
For a couple whose definition of their first meeting was frightening and relieved, warm was surely a great place to be in. She decided that it was great and they could build on it slowly.
They arrived back in the living room just in time to meet Alix that was just returning home. She was carrying a few packages in her hand and there was a cat standing on her shoulder.
She smiled first when she saw Caishen and the smile faltered when she noticed the professor.
"Welcome home miss Li..., Alix." Professor He waved at Alix.
Before she could respond, Majesty jumped down from her shoulder and a small torpedo came crushing into her.
"Auntie, i am back."
The small torpedo was Xiaobo who hadn’t come by to visit or sleep over lately. This was because he had been spending time at the main mansion or with his father. Even when the two came by, they didn’t spend the night because Zhang Bo was doing his best to be an active dad.
"Oh, my baby." She lifted him in her arms and twirled around for five seconds. Then she kissed him on the cheek, loudly and rubbed her nose against that same cheek. "Auntie has missed you so much. Are you spending the night?"
He nodded and Alix cheered up.
Xiaobo leaned in and whispered to her, "Father is in the kitchen stealing your ice cream."
"Is that so?" she asked.
He nodded as she turned her attention to her brothers. All three were looking at her curiously.
"Welcome back older sister." They greeted her together, the same way her students did in class.
Since she was carrying Xiaobo with one hand, she opened up her left side and gestured at the boys to come over for hugs.
"Your older sister is an overly affectionate hugger, come here if you want a hug."
She would not force it but if they were open to it, she wanted to express as much physical affection as she could to show them that they were loved. It would help them feel safe and protected in a way. All the affection she didn’t get as a child, she would ensure that they received.
Yuewei came up first and prompted the younger ones to follow. She gave each of them a side hug before turning to Caishen.
"Hubby Zhang, hug?"
She didn’t care if the professor was around, she wouldn’t change her usual way of interacting with him. In fact it was better this way so that she would help them iron out what was lacking in their relationship.
Xiaobo tilled his head forward in her arms and he asked, "Uncle hubby, hug?"
Alix was shocked and she turned her head to Xiaobo. "Hmmm, uncle hubby?"
Xiaobo grinned and told her, "Daddy said it’s my uncle’s new name."
Alix shook her head and put Xiaobo down. She told him, "Help your uncles put this stuff away." ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
He was so eager to help and he joined her brothers who were taking the food she had brought home to the kitchen. She had also stopped by a boutique next to the hotel and bought them some new clothes and shoes.
With the boys gone, she focused on the professor. She walked towards her and Caishen and stood beside her husband.
She took a deep breath and said, "Professor He, this is the last place i thought i would see you tonight. Will you be having dinner with us as a guest?"
While she was talking, Caishen took her right hand in his and held it firmly. She squeezed his hand and smiled down at him.
Somehow, over the course of time they had been together, this had become their ’i am here’ and ’i am right next to you’, silent form of communication.
The small actions were not missed by the professor’s sharp eye of course.
"I am on my way out actually. I wanted to see your home and witness you two in your natural environment. It’s interesting to witness your interaction with your brothers and nephew." She laughed lightly and added, "You are quite warm indeed. Have you two by any chance discussed parenthood?"
Professor He had quite a few opinions on this matter. If they were considering having a child, it was her opinion that they should hold off for at least a year.
Before bringing new life into their world, they needed to unclog and form a bond which would create a loving environment for a child. If she could equate them to anyone, it would be to a couple in the early stages of dating, in a getting to know each other phase.
They needed to complete the phase first, successfully at that.
She looked at husband and wife and they stared back at her without responding. They had no intention of answering the question, it seemed. In fact, they appeared to be a little uncomfortable with it.
Alix was looking in the direction of the kitchen with worry in her eyes. Professor He thought she was worried about the children hearing her response or looking for an escape.
In reality, Alix was on the lookout for Nanny Wang because she intended to be frank and tell the professor that children were not on the menu that year.
Caishen had told her that it was up to her and he would not pressure her to have children. When she felt ready to be a mother, she would tell him and they would take the necessary steps.
A new voice chipped into the conversation, saving the couple from answering a question that they both dreaded.
Zhang Bo came from the direction of the kitchen saying, "If you can get a straight answer to that question out of them then my grandmother will surely reward you handsomely."
He walked over and introduced himself to the professor.
"I am Zhang Bo, Caishen’s elder brother."
Professor He shook his hand and bowed slightly to be polite. "Nice to meet you, I am professor He. If you have some time, i would like to have a conversation with you."
Bo smirked, and looked at Caishen. "If it’s about all the ways in which my younger brother annoyed me as a child, sure. If you want dirt on him, look elsewhere. I am loyal to my brother which makes me loyal to his wife."
The professor nodded and smiled. "You brothers must be very close i take it."
"Like two peas in a pod." Bo said proudly.
Professor He stepped away from Bo and looked at the path leading to the entrance of the house. It was time for her to go. She had seen all that she wanted to see. She would have to assign the homework another day.
"I will be taking my leave now. I will see you all another time."
Two people of the three were thrilled to hear that she was leaving. The couple, Alix and Caishen waved and smiled in relief.
"Goodnight professor, thank you for visiting." Alix called out as the professor left.
"Thank you for visiting." Caishen added. He was short of saying, please don’t return.
