The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 308: Neighborhood litterer.
"She is gone, now we can be weird as usual." Zhang Bo declared as soon as the front door closed behind professor He.
He smiled at them like an idiot. Sometimes, it was hard to believe that this goofy guy was running the Zhang group.
"Did you run out of food in your house?" Caishen responded.
Zhang Bo smiled impishly. It wasn’t food he had run out of, it was Alix’s milk powder, ice cream, wine and and snacks. He had two housekeepers in his house that prepared food for them but he preferred to eat from their house.
Sometimes, he ordered out and occasionally, he tried and failed to cook.
Xiaobo laughing at him after he burned a fried egg had been his last attempt to cook personally for his son.
He looked at his brother and sister-in-law with interest in his eyes and he said in a curious voice, "So you guys are doing couples counseling. I think it’s a great idea. I had to do actual couples counseling for my role in...."
"The return of the grand Marshall." Alix blurted out happily.
Zhang Bo smiled happily and he raised his hand with a folded fist. Alix bumped her right hand fist against his.
"Sister-in-law, you are my number one fan indeed."
She nodded and replied, "It’s too bad that i am going to have to replace you now that you have retired. Jin Kang thinks we should become Mia Kong’s fans, Holea thinks we should support Ge Jing."
"Mia Kong is the better choice, she is young and focused. I worked with her in...." He moved his hands around and pointed at her, waiting for the answer.
"Hell on mars." Alix answered.
Instead of another fist bump, they slapped their hands together in a perfect high five.
Caishen shook his head helplessly. The actor and his number one fan were both ridiculous. One would think that they were playing a game of trivia.
He moved his wheelchair closer to the table to look at the children’s homework. It had all been concluded neatly, whether it was because the boys were bright or because professor He helped, he didn’t know.
He flipped some of their notebooks open like an examiner.
Zhang Bo whispered to Alix, "He is going to turn those boys into straight A students by the end of the year. Have you seen the schedule he has made for them?"
"Is it anything like Xiaobo’s?" she asked.
Zhang Bo shook his head. "Xiaobo’s schedule is lighter than theirs because he is younger. And, it also happens to be lighter than ours when we were growing up. The two of us had more intense study programs than all of theirs. It was an elite education but sometimes i think it was not worth it."
"Children should be allowed to play, right?" Alix sighed and replied.
Zhang Bo nodded.
Caishen noticed that the two were still whispering like they were plotting. He couldn’t hear them anymore but he was curious. "What are you two still whispering about? Bo, we need to discuss business."
"It’s after office hours." Zhang Bo replied.
He shook a bag of his favorite crisps at his brother. "It’s my cheat day."
"You have five cheat days lately." Caishen reminded him.
Bo tapped his belly and replied, "Who do i have in my life to watch my figure for?"
He said this while giggling and walking towards Caishen so Alix used the opportunity to slip away and head into the kitchen.
Even before she entered, she could hear the laughter coming from inside. Xiaobo’s was the loudest. It filled her heart with happiness to hear the sound because it was a sign that her brothers were comfortable in the house.
The idea that she should take a picture with them crossed her mind. Professor He was right about her lack of pictures with Caishen but it wasn’t just him. She lacked pictures with everyone.
She and Tai Change planned to visit an amusement park on Sunday. Other Tai brothers had jumped in on the plan, taking these three would not be a problem. She would have to ask Zhang Bo if Xiaobo also wanted to go.
She peeked inside with a smile on her face, "Knock knock."
"Who is there?" Xiaobo responded eagerly.
"Me." she answered.
He laughed and so did she. He was a child and for some reason, everything that she did impressed him. Her brothers on the other hand, not so much. Wu Wei and Yuewei particularly didn’t enjoy the joke.
Wu Gang just smiled at her and continued feeding Majesty rice and chicken with a spoon, which was unusual.
"What are you guys talking about?" she asked.
"They are telling me all about how you spanked Tai Jiaan for missing class." Nanny Luo told her. "And, i was telling them about the days when you used to run from school and come to work at...."
"Nanny.." she whined. She shook her head and told the boys, "I was a very good student who never missed class. There is a picture of me at my former high school praising me for being a great student."
The same picture was the one which had been added to that of famous alumni after she became Zhang Caishen’s wife. In fact, there was a class re-union planned for the following year and the home room teacher had sent her an invitation already.
"Older sister, i can tell that you were mischievous, even aunt Jin Kang said so." Yuewei told her.
She gasped and shook her head. "Jin Kang twisted the truth. I was a model student who swept the school compound in my free time."
Nobody believed her, not even Xiaobo.
"Was it a punishment from the teacher because you are fond of littering?" Xiaobo asked her.
He had overheard his father congratulating his uncle for paying another littering fine.
His question raised a few giggles in the kitchen, including Wang Ma’s and Nanny Luo.
Xiaobo sighed and he said, "Dawang from my class also likes to litter. The teacher is always make him pick up after himself. Auntie, littering is bad, it makes the environment dirty."
Alix wanted to defend herself. She really hadn’t thrown any rubbish out on the ground for some days now, not since that night when she almost slipped on ice. But, even if she used that defense, it would not change a thing, her reputation was in shambles. She was the official house litterer, maybe the entire neighborhood.
Her phone rung and she looked at it and excused herself. She made it all the way to the bedroom and closed the door before answering.
An unknown number after Billi’s accident, this was either Jing Hee, Lin Qianfan or her grandmother.
"Hello.." she answered calmly.
"Come to Xiang guo people’s hospital right now." A voice belonging to Lin Qianfan ordered.
