"I might have a little surprise for you guys if that’s the case." Lumen had a mischievous smile on his face as he heavily implied to the other three that he knew something that they didn’t.

Qu Quan and Jake were waiting in anticipation for Lumen to explain to them what this big surprise was, but Will was the first who couldn’t contain his patience and asked straight away.

"Well, what is it then, Lumen?" Will looked at Lumen inquisitively.

"I can tell you guys from first hand experience that yes, when one reaches level 25 you experience something you would never have felt before. I’m sure all of you have long noticed the ’Soul Tier’ on your status screen, and wondered what it did or what you could do to level it up. Well, I can tell you right now that upon reaching level 25 you are offered the opportunity to evolve your very being, upgrading to the E tier and receiving an evolution in all aspects, body, mind and soul."

As Lumen spoke and explained the intricacies of reaching level 25 to the others, their jaws slowly hung lower and lower until they could extend no more the further he explained the advantages provided by completing one’s evolution, but he had yet to explain the most important detail to them.

"However, do not become complacent thinking you’ll get to achieve all of this without working for it. There is a requirement to evolve that one must meet before they reach the E tier. I do not know if it is the same for every person, or if it differs depending on your talent or class etc. What I do know is that my evolution required me to have hunted 100 F tier beasts and 1 E tier beast while still at the F tier myself."

Lumen finished his explanation to the other three of his experience of evolution, and when he got to meeting the requirements of reaching this new level of life, all three of their faces soured when they heard that he had to have hunted an E tier beast while at the F tier.

Will, Qu Quan, and Jake listened intently to Lumen’s revelation, their faces shifting from anticipation to astonishment as he shared the incredible opportunity that awaited them at level 25. The concept of evolving to the E tier, gaining profound enhancements to their body, mind, and soul, left them in awe.

"Evolution to the E tier... That’s beyond anything we could have imagined," Qu Quan murmured, her eyes gleaming with excitement.

Jake nodded, absorbing the information. "It sounds like a chance of a lifetime. But what about the requirements? You mentioned having to hunt an E tier beast while still at the F tier. That’s no easy feat. We haven’t even caught the sight of an E tier beast before, so we can’t even comprehend the power such a being will be at..."

Lumen’s expression grew serious as he confirmed Jake’s concerns. "You’re right, it won’t be easy. It’s a challenge meant to test your mettle. My evolution required me to hunt an E tier beast, and I’m sure each of us will face our own unique trials to reach the E tier. But I believe in us, in your strength. Together, you can overcome any challenge. Who knows, maybe you’ll be lucky and have a different, easier requirement compared to me."

Will, always the determined one, clenched his fists. "Then let’s do it. We’ll train, become even stronger, and if the opportunity forces itself upon us, we’ll face an E tier beast head-on."

As the group shared their resolve, a newfound determination burned within them. They knew the path to evolution wouldn’t be easy, but they were willing to face any trial that came their way. Their unity and shared purpose would be their greatest strength.

Lumen smiled, appreciating the unwavering determination of his friends. "That’s the spirit. We have fifteen days left in this tutorial, and we’ll make the most of every moment. Together, you’ll reach level 25, evolve, and uncover the secrets of this world."

Qu Quan, her eyes filled with determination, spoke up, "We need to focus on levelling up, honing our skills, and gathering the best gear we can find. When the opportunity to face an E tier beast arises, we’ll be ready."

Jake, known for his strategic thinking, added, "We should also study the behaviours and habits of E tier beasts. Knowledge is power, and understanding our quarry will give us an edge when the time comes."

Will, the group’s pillar of strength, nodded in agreement. "And we’ll support each other every step of the way. Together, we’re a formidable team."

Lumen, feeling a deep sense of camaraderie, couldn’t help but feel grateful for this unexpected reunion. "I couldn’t have asked for better friends and companions in this world. Let’s make every moment count."

"However, I’m afraid you guys will have to overcome this obstacle together, without me... I’m sorry to suddenly drop this on you guys but... My level will simply stagnate if I drop my current agenda and start hunting lower level beasts with you guys."

"My goal is to reach level 50 by the time the tutorial is up, and right now I’m only at level 29 so I’m sure you guys can tell I have a lot of work to do. My current pace suggests I can achieve this goal, with a little bit of wiggle room left over." Lumen was saddened to rain on their parade suddenly, but he knew it had to be done if he wanted to reach his goal for the tutorial.

The other three looked shocked at first, but their shock shifted to sadness when they realised that he was right, they would only be holding him back if he were to stick with them for the remainder of the tutorial, and knew it was only right that he should depart from them once more to continue his hunt alone.

"But I can still spend the rest of this day with you guys, we have a lot to catch up on after all." Lumen smiled as he joked lightly with the others, brightening the mood surrounding the four of them.

"You know what, Lumen leaving us for bigger things only means that we should work even harder to catch up with him! You watch, maybe we’ll even reach your goal of level 50 before you do, hehe." Qu Quan was the first to break the following silence as she managed to bring a chuckle out of the others.

Their pact sealed, the group continued their journey through the forested valley. Each day brought them closer to their goal of reaching level 25 and evolving to the E tier. Along the way, they encountered challenges and faced formidable beasts, but their unity and shared determination propelled them forward.

As the hours passed, they not only grew in strength but also in wisdom, honing their skills and expanding their knowledge. The mysteries of the tutorial world seemed within their grasp, and the memories that had long eluded them were slowly coming into focus.

They didn’t exchange any goodbyes, as they were certain they would be seeing each other again.
