Transmigrating to Modern Earth from the Future-Chapter 99 - 2nd Class Evolution
Chapter 99: 2nd Class Evolution
[You reached level 50, the opportunity to upgrade your soul tier to D is upon you!]
[Quest: Evolution to D tier]
[Quest description: You are on the precipice of another evolution after reaching level 50 and are just a few steps away from achieving this goal many fail to reach. You have become accustomed to the new world order in body, soul and mind. Evolution is a natural step for all beings in the universe, now it is your turn to receive nature’s blessings.]
[Quest requirements: Slay D tier beasts 3/3, slay 100 E tier beasts 213/100, reach level 50, Reach level 10 and evolve at least 1 skill (5/1).]
[Quest requirements met, do you wish to begin evolution to D tier now?]
Finally Lumen once again saw the message he had been hoping to see again.
The same warning popped up again when he chose to evolve right at that moment, with the same words about pain and how the process is irreversible.
However, after already experiencing it once before, he felt he was much more ready than he was the first time he chose to evolve, and so there was no hesitation in choosing to do it immediately.
[You have chosen to undertake the evolution now, please prepare yourself. Good Luck once again, Lumen.]
Just like the previous time he evolved, Lumen dropped to the ground and started writhing in pain, jaws clamped together as creaking sounds came from everywhere in his body.
The pain was like an inferno, consuming Lumen from within. It radiated from his core, spreading through every fibre of his being. His entire body contorted as if it were being pulled and twisted in all directions, muscles and bones protesting in agony.
Time seemed to stretch endlessly as Lumen endured the torment. He gritted his teeth, refusing to scream or cry out. He had faced pain before, both physical and mental, and he knew that this was a trial he had to overcome.
His vision blurred and danced with vivid colours, his senses overwhelmed by the searing pain. It was as if the very essence of his existence was being reshaped, remodelled into something new and unknown.
As the hours passed, Lumen’s consciousness teetered on the edge of oblivion. The pain had become a constant, unrelenting presence, pushing him to the brink of his endurance. But he refused to give in. He clung to his determination, his desire to evolve and grow stronger.
Then, as suddenly as it had begun, the pain stopped. Lumen’s body went limp, and his vision faded to black, just like the first time he had evolved.
When his awareness returned, he found himself once again in the vast, white void of space. The emptiness stretched out in all directions, timeless and infinite. But this time, there was a subtle difference. Lumen could feel the mana in the atmosphere, a pulsating energy that surrounded him.
He looked down at his illusory, immaterial body, and this time, he could see it in finer detail. It was as if he had gained a new level of perception. He watched as the mana flowed through him, just like it did in his physical body when he used his mana circulation technique.
Lumen couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe and wonder. He had evolved once again, transcending the limitations of his previous state. He knew that this was a testament to his growth, a testament to the trials he had endured and the challenges he had overcome.
Then, the messages from the system appeared before him, breaking his reverie:
[Welcome once again to your soul space, where everything containing your very being, from your memories of your conception to the very moment you started your evolution are stored.]
[Your body has successfully completed its evolution, leaving only your soul.]
[...]
[Starting Class evolution now.]
With his experience from the first time, he knew that no more pain and suffering would come to him after this point so he did his best to calm himself and brace for the appearance of the class selection list, where he would once again get the opportunity to upgrade his class to another level.
Four options appeared before his eyes, and much like the first time he started going through them one by one.
[1. Soulbound Inquisitor - The Soulbound Inquisitor delves into the mysteries of the soul and the supernatural. This class can commune with spirits, banish dark entities, and extract hidden knowledge from the depths of the ethereal realm. Soulbound Inquisitors are known for their unyielding determination and their ability to uncover hidden truths that elude others. Stat bonuses per level: +64 Intelligence, +64 Wisdom, + 23 Agility, + 22 Stamina, + 19 Strength, + 18 Endurance, + 70 Perception, +20 Unallocated stats.]
This first class confused Lumen with it’s ambiguous and flashy words, and with phrases he had never heard before like the ’ethereal realm’, as well as the fact that these soulbound inquisitors ’banish dark entities’ he could already tell that this class was a step in the opposite direction for him, choosing to focus on more abstract concepts rather than his pursuit of power.
[2. Arcane Battlemage - The Arcane Battlemage is a master of martial combat and spellcasting, seamlessly blending swordplay with powerful arcane incantations. This class wields enchanted weapons and armour, channelling magic through their strikes and defences. Arcane Battlemages are versatile combatants who can unleash devastating spells in the heat of battle. Stat bonuses per level: +34 Intelligence, +34 Wisdom, + 33 Agility, + 42 Stamina, + 39 Strength, + 38 Endurance, + 20 Perception, +50 Unallocated stats.]
’Very similar to my current class.’
This second option was almost like a direct upgrade from his current class, only his prowess with his spear would be put aside and he would have to take up the sword. He would be happy with choosing this class only if it offered him the choice of keeping his spear instead of switching to the sword.
Moving on, he could only hope that the next two would offer something he was interested in and keep up his status quo of using his spear and magic, otherwise he would have a long journey of learning a different mastery ahead of him.
[3. Arcane Sentinel - The Arcane Sentinel is a guardian of knowledge and martial skill. This class wields a spear as an extension of their will, while their mastery of arcane magic enhances their combat abilities. Arcane Sentinels are protectors of ancient wisdom, using their formidable skills to safeguard both physical and mystical realms. Stat bonuses per level: +44 Intelligence, +44 Wisdom, + 43 Agility, + 42 Stamina, + 39 Strength, + 38 Endurance, + 30 Perception, +22 Unallocated stats.]
This class almost perfectly matched his requirements for his class, and if he wasn’t so patient to weigh all his options after taking a look at the last choice, he would have chosen this one already.
This led him to the final class, and with his expectations already met, he wasn’t expecting anything fancy from it.
