Urban Super Soldier King-Chapter 902: Just Want You to Carry the Blame
Chapter 902: Chapter 902: Just Want You to Carry the Blame
Looking around at the vast wilderness, Xiang Yu frowned and said, "Now that he’s gone, how are we supposed to get back?"
Long Wu grabbed Xiang Yu’s hand and started walking.
"Walk back," Long Wu said cheerfully.
Xiang Yu was speechless. If they really walked back, they’d probably reach the hotel around midnight. But since Long Wu was so insistent, he had no choice.
The warmth from her palm made Xiang Yu feel a bit lost. Long Wu was a good girl, and earlier he had been a bit too emotional. Now, he wasn’t sure how to face her.
"What exactly happened?" Xiang Yu finally asked as they walked along the road.
Long Wu explained, "Last night, when I was heading back, I suddenly blacked out for some reason and was captured by him."
Xiang Yu didn’t speak, simply listening quietly. The ’him’ Long Wu referred to must be Ren Baohe. Judging by the explosive power of the bomb earlier, it had to be one of Ren Baohe’s creations.
He couldn’t quite understand why Long Wu was unharmed now, since earlier, the explosion had clearly destroyed someone.
"After he captured me, he didn’t touch me. At the time, I was terrified." Long Wu gripped Xiang Yu’s hand tighter as she said this.
"I heard him calling you earlier. That’s when I knew you’d come to save me," Long Wu stopped walking and looked at Xiang Yu.
Xiang Yu quickly nodded and then pulled her along to keep going forward.
"What happened after that?" Xiang Yu asked.
"After he called you, he made another phone call and said something about blowing this city flat. That man’s a total psychopath," Long Wu said angrily.
"While talking on the phone, he ignored me and was busy fiddling with his bombs, muttering about how it was art or whatever, and even started demonstrating the usage to me. I noticed he wasn’t paying attention to me, so I slowly began to wear the rope down by friction," Long Wu said.
Xiang Yu knew that Long Wu wasn’t just some fragile girl. Back in the day, she had also been part of the street scene. Judging her based solely on her appearance would be a grave mistake.
Clearly, while Ren Baohe was aware of Xiang Yu’s relationship with Long Wu, he wasn’t privy to Long Wu’s past.
"I managed to fray through the rope, and then I kicked him square in the mouth, knocking him to the ground. But he didn’t panic and coolly got back up — until I gave him another kick that destroyed his... uh, vital area," Long Wu said, clearly satisfied with her actions.
Xiang Yu could only feel a pang of sympathy, instinctively clenching his legs tighter.
"After hitting him, I strapped all the bombs to him and set the timer. That was the explosion just now," Long Wu said.
Hearing this, Xiang Yu suddenly paused, turning to Long Wu and asking, "You mean the person who just got blown up was the one who kidnapped you?"
Long Wu didn’t understand why Xiang Yu was so worked up. She simply nodded and said, "That’s right, it was him."
Xiang Yu let out a bitter laugh, utterly speechless. Ren Baohe, a big name in the underworld, had somehow ended up blown to pieces by a woman.
In the end, Ren Baohe had only himself to blame for being too careless. Not all beautiful women were helpless.
The two continued walking and chatting, unaware of how much time had passed. By now, the sky had gradually darkened.
Suddenly, Long Wu tugged at Xiang Yu and said, "I can’t walk anymore, my feet are almost swollen."
Xiang Yu looked around and saw there weren’t any houses nearby, and the main road was still some distance away. He finally said, "Then let’s rest for a while."
He started looking for a place to sit, but Long Wu tugged at his hand, saying, "I’m also feeling a bit cold."
Xiang Yu glanced around and spotted some tall grass nearby that could block the wind. He pulled Long Wu along, saying, "Come on, let’s sit over there."
Long Wu looked at Xiang Yu’s silly demeanor and lightly smacked him, saying, "Why didn’t you offer to carry me?"
Only then did Xiang Yu realize what she wanted. After hesitating for a moment, he coughed and asked, "How much do you weigh?"
"100 pounds, exactly," Long Wu replied honestly.
"No way, too heavy. I can’t carry you," Xiang Yu said and started heading toward the grass.
Furious, Long Wu stomped her foot and said, "I’m 5’7" tall and weigh just 100 pounds — and you have the nerve to call me heavy? No way, you *must* carry me."
With that, Long Wu grabbed Xiang Yu and jumped onto his back.
Xiang Yu had no choice but to carry her forward. At 100 pounds, Long Wu’s weight was hardly a burden to him.
Still, the warm, soft feeling on his back started to distract Xiang Yu.
"How did you even grow like this?" Xiang Yu asked curiously.
"What do you mean?" Long Wu responded softly, resting her head against his back.
His back was so warm and comfortable that she wished she could just stay by his side forever.
Even though Long Wu was a strong woman, she was still a woman. She needed care, needed warmth.
"You’re so tall, yet here... it’s so big," Xiang Yu mused, shifting her weight slightly as he continued, "How are you so light? Malnourished?"
Long Wu blushed deeply, saying nothing, and smacked Xiang Yu’s back harder.
When the two finally reached the main road, Xiang Yu put Long Wu down. She didn’t say anything, especially since cars were visible in the distance now.
She wouldn’t let others see her like this. Only when she was alone with Xiang Yu would she show this softer side of herself.
In front of everyone else, she maintained her cold and composed demeanor.
The two flagged down a car and made their way back to the hotel. When they arrived in Xiang Yu’s office, Tie Zhuzi and the others were already seated there.
Seeing the pair return, Tie Zhuzi chuckled quietly and said, "See? I told you not to worry, but you all insisted on it."
Xiao Xuan hurried forward, inspecting Xiang Yu from head to toe, and nervously asked, "Brother, are you okay?"
Although Xiao Xuan didn’t know what had happened, he knew something must have gone down.
"What could possibly happen?" Xiang Yu joked, sitting down on the sofa.
After entering, Long Wu’s face was still flushed. She wasn’t sure why, but she felt that the way everyone was looking at her seemed... a little off.
"You guys haven’t eaten yet, right? I’ll go cook for you," Long Wu said and quickly left the room.
After she left, Tie Zhuzi relaxed and grinned at Xiang Yu, saying, "Brother Yu, you finally made a move. I’ve been saying all along, Sister Long Wu is the perfect one for you."
"Get lost," Xiang Yu laughed and cursed.
Wang Ze, who was sitting off to the side, looked relieved now that Xiang Yu was back. After Xiang Yu finished drinking a glass of water, Wang Ze said, "Big Brother, someone came looking for you this afternoon."
"Who?" Xiang Yu asked.
"Apparently, it was a cop — one of the officers injured during the plaza building incident," Wang Ze replied.
"Someone got hurt?" Xiang Yu finally asked.
Back then, he had been detained by the police, so he hadn’t known about the explosion. Naturally, he wasn’t aware that anyone had been injured...
