Vampire's Veil Of Obsession-Chapter 126: Her Cries
Chapter 126: Her Cries
The car finally came to a stop in front of a large building. Lilia raised an eyebrow, glancing at Zethan in surprise. He hadn’t mentioned anything about stopping here, and she had assumed they were heading straight home. The unexpected stop caught her off guard.
Was it something related to his work? She wondered as her curiosity piqued.
The chauffeur quickly stepped out, opening the door for both of them. Zethan exited first, then extended his hand toward Lilia. She hesitated for a moment, still processing the unexpected turn of events, before quietly placing her hand in his.
It was so unexpected and out of the blue that it completely caught her off guard.
Not to mention, the building was made of tinted glass, so Lilia had no idea what was inside. Was it a store, or something else? It looked different from anything she had seen before, and there was no name at the top to indicate what it was. The tinted glass gave it a mysterious aura. Holding Zethan’s hand, she walked with him toward the building. The sun was already setting, and the evening was drawing to a close. Lilia looked up at Zethan calmly.
"Honey, where are we going?" Her curiosity got the better of her.
"Sweetheart, you’ll see once we get there."
Lilia fell silent and nodded, looking like a child who had been pleading with her father to take her to an amusement park, and the father remained quiet, simply saying the word, "You’ll see" after the child’s ask of where they were going.
They walked toward the entrance, and the door slid open. As soon as it did, the bright light from inside the building gently blocked Lilia’s view. But as they entered, they were greeted by something unexpected: a breathtaking view. Lilia’s eyes widened, and her lips trembled slightly as she took in the sight before her. The place was filled with beautiful, assorted flowers—more like grand bouquets—arranged in perfect harmony. The variety of colors, shapes, and sizes left her speechless. It was too perfect, too beautiful, too good to be true. Some of the flowers even seemed to glow with colors she had never seen before.
She noticed the people who came to admire or buy the flowers; they seemed to be high-class individuals, and from the way they were dressed and carried themselves, Lilia suspected these flowers were extremely expensive. How could a place this stunning exist and yet not be overwhelmed with crowds? It seemed that those who were here were well aware of the value of these flowers.
Or rather, people kept track of who arrived. It was like she had been transmigrated to another world—far more beautiful.
Lilia’s eyes watered slightly as she took it all in, and she turned her face away, trying to keep her emotions in check. "Oh, Zethan, please don’t make me cry," she whispered, blinking rapidly to hold back the tears. She didn’t want to break down in front of him.
Zethan immediately grew concerned and reached out, gently cupping her chin. He turned her face back toward his, and the sight of her tear-stricken face made his eyes widen slightly in alarm. "You don’t like it?" he asked, his tone laced with worry.
Lilia shook her head. "No, not at all," she replied, her voice trembling. "I’m happy... You’re so sweet," she added, feeling her heart soften even more.
Zethan’s lips curved into a satisfied smile, relieved. He had feared she didn’t like the flowers, which was why she cried. But Lilia couldn’t help but wonder why he’d even ask that. Who could dislike something so beautiful? Her heart ached for him, because despite his caring nature, he didn’t realize just how sweet and rare he truly was. That realization softened her heart even further, and the way he always unknowingly pulled her deeper into her feelings made her fall harder for him, no matter how hard she tried to hold herself back. And now, standing in this beautiful place, it all felt even more precious to her.
Zethan gently took Lilia’s hand as they made their way toward the elevator. The elevator pinged before the doors slid open, and they stepped inside. Lilia, still full of curiosity, glanced at Zethan, surprised by how different this area seemed. Zethan spoke quietly, his voice filled with calm assurance.
"My wife, do you like flowers?"
Lilia nodded, her smile softening. "Of course. Who wouldn’t like flowers?" free𝑤ebnovel.com
Zethan chuckled, his eyes gleaming with amusement. "Oh really, wifey?"
Lilia looked at him playfully, her voice light as she teased, "Except you." Though she knew he liked flowers as well.
Zethan smiled, nodding in acknowledgment. "You’re right, but I have special flowers."
Lilia nodded. "Oh, is that so? I had no idea," she spoke with dramatic shock on her face. Zethan grinned at her behavior as she laughed.
He then laughed softly before asking, "Why are you laughing, my wife?"
Lilia shook her head, a soft giggle escaping her lips. "This just reminded me of the day I escaped... when I stepped on your flowers."
Zethan couldn’t help but chuckle at the memory. Lilia’s laugh grew louder as she continued, "And then I was so scared, with how you talked about it." She shivered dramatically, over-exaggerating it. Zethan laughed as well, shaking his head in disbelief at his beautiful wife’s playful act.
He then smiled, watching her giggle, his heart warming at her joy. The elevator pinged again, and the doors opened to reveal a room that took Lilia’s breath away.
It wasn’t a large room, but its beauty was undeniable. In the center stood a see-through glass table, bathed in soft, glowing light. The room seemed to shimmer with an ember-like glow from the lights at each corner, creating a warm, intimate atmosphere. At the center of the table was a banquet of flowers, arranged beautifully. The soft sound of music played in the background, adding to the soothing ambiance.
Lilia’s eyes widened as she took in every detail. Above them, love heart designs adorned the ceiling, and at the end of the room was a photograph of their wedding day—the moment they shared their wedding kiss.
What shocked her even more was the fact that he hadn’t told her about any picture taken that day. When did he even take it? she wondered. It was all too perfect, and she was so overwhelmed that she forgot about everything around her. The surprise hit her like a wave, and she couldn’t help but feel her heart swell with happiness and joy.
Her breath caught, and her heart fluttered. Tears began to fall from her eyes, and she struggled to hold them back as she spoke in awe, "Z... Zethan, how... how... did you do all this? When did you do all this? Wow... You’re just so good... so sweet."
Her voice cracked slightly as she let out a small sob, overwhelmed by the gesture. "This is lovely, Zethan. This is beautiful. This... this is one of the best days of my life."
Zethan stiffened, surprised by her words, his heart swelling with affection. He pulled her into a tender hug and spoke softly, "I realized we hadn’t had a proper date. I wanted us to have one."
He gently turned her face to meet his gaze and reached into his pocket for a handkerchief, wiping the tear-streaked path on her cheek. "So don’t cry, okay? I brought you here to see you smile, but it seems it made you cry more for me," he said with a slow smirk. As he did, she bit her lip softly, trying to hold back her emotions.
To her surprise, after he cleaned her face, he moved, giving her a quick peck on her lips. He stole a kiss.
"Who taught you that, my honey?" she asked, her voice still tinged with tears.
Zethan smiled, his gaze tender. "I did some research, my lovely wife."
With a calm, quiet voice and almost serious tone, he spoke, "I just wanted to make today special for you. You’ve cried a lot, and I wouldn’t want to see my beautiful, cute little wife crying," he said, winking softly at her. "I hope this makes your day better."
’Oh this husband of hers was spoiling her’
Lilia looked at him, uncertain. Was he kidding? Was he joking with her? Of course, this made her day better. But what she didn’t realize was that this had been planned back in the car. He had noticed how silent she was and had immediately arranged everything with his phone.
Back in the car, he hadn’t planned on bringing her here today. It was supposed to be a day for her to calm down. But seeing how she looked, he couldn’t let her stay in that state, feeling like everything was her fault. So, he sacrificed the day he’d originally planned, which was meant for showing her the wedding pictures, to make her feel happy.
And it seems that was a great plan.
Lilia stayed silent for a moment, then spoke, "Oh, Zethan, now I’m even more excited. I’m more willing than ever to start our one-week plan with you. I would love to see our quadruplets witness how awesome their father is."
Zethan chuckled, his smile playful. "You said it yourself, sweetie. One-week plan, here we come." He paused for a moment, then added, "In fact, no need to wait until next week. We could start this week. After all, every second counts," he murmured before leaning in.
"I’ll be driving us back home," he said with a devilish smile, "as we both need our privacy in there as well." He spoke with dark intent.
