Vampire's Veil Of Obsession-Chapter 127: Driving…
Chapter 127: Driving...
Lilia’s face flushed at his words, knowing full well what he implied.
As if that wasn’t enough, her eyes drifted toward the bouquet of flowers sitting on top of the table. A small smile curved her lips as she admired how beautiful and intricately arranged it was.
The bouquet was made of red and white roses, shaped perfectly into a heart — white roses outlining the top, red roses filling the center, and a mix of both in the middle to form the heart.
It was simply too lovely, and her heart couldn’t help but swell with joy.
Zethan moved, gently lifting the bouquet and passing it to her.
"Go ahead," he said.
Lilia took it gently from him, sniffing it eagerly, her eyes brightening.
"Wow, Zethan, this smells so nice," she said warmly.
Zethan’s lips curled into a small, soft smile as he replied quietly,
"Not as nice as you."
Lilia’s face flushed immediately at his words.
He shook his head slightly, marveling at just how beautiful—no, goddamn pretty—his wife looked right now doing such simple things.
He had to hold himself back.
She took another sniff of the bouquet, then ran her fingers softly over the petals, a slow, sweet smile gracing her lips.
Carefully, she moved the bouquet to a smaller side table nearby, almost as if it were a treasure meant to be displayed.
Then, she turned back to him and spoke quietly,
"Honey, I really need to reward you."
Zethan leaned in slightly, his voice low and teasing as he answered,
"You know, I wouldn’t mind you doing it... right here."
"No, honey, you have to be patient... okay," she whispered softly, her eyes glinting playfully.
Zethan became curious. What was this wife of his up to now, huh?
Just then, they heard the door at the far end open quietly. A man walked in, dressed in a perfect suit — more like a waiter, ready to take an order. He held two beautifully assorted menu-like tabs, which he quietly placed on the table.
It was filled with different meals, and Lilia scrolled through it, her gaze finally settling on a particular dish — a creamy pasta — along with a glass of orange juice and tiramisu cake for dessert. She clicked on them, and a small tick appeared beside her selection. She then put the menu down, and the waiter gently took it just as she did. Zethan dropped his as well, and the waiter spoke quietly,
"Mr. Zethan, Mrs. Lilia, we are very much pleased to welcome you here. Your order will be arriving shortly."
He gave a respectful bow before leaving.
As soon as he left, Lilia turned toward Zethan and said,
"You know, your shamelessness is getting worse by the day."
Zethan replied immediately,
"Is it really that obvious?" he spoke teasingly.
Lilia slowly rolled her eyes playfully, smiling at him before shaking her head.
"No, it isn’t," she said, her voice dripping with sarcastic drama.
Zethan nodded with a small, amused smile.
"Ah..I see."
Lilia leaned in slightly, her eyes glinting with mischief as she spoke,
"So, Mr. Zethan, what made you think of us having a date? I never knew my husband was such a romantic guy."
Zethan chuckled softly, his lips curving into a smile.
"There are lots of things you don’t know about me, sweetie," he said smoothly, "but don’t worry—you won’t have to wait too long."
Lilia rested her hand against her chin, quietly thinking aloud,
"But I’m not quite patient, honey. Why don’t you tell me now?"
Zethan’s eyes widened slightly as he cleared his throat, turning his face to the side before he spoke calmly,
"Then you have to learn to be"
Lilia could not believe this man. He was actually saying this? The same person who lacked patience as well? Maybe he was even the one who had influenced her in the first place. But most of all, it was the way he had turned his face to the side — his neck slightly pink — that caught her attention.
Lilia shook her head, smiling.
"Oh, my hubby is shy. Woww. Very rare," she teased.
Zethan gave her a quiet look before shaking his head in defeat.
Just then, the door opened, and a rolling cart arrived with their dishes.
The waiter quietly set up the table, moving the plates onto it with careful precision.
Once he was done, he bowed respectfully and left.
Lilia picked up her cutlery and began eating quietly, her mind focused entirely on the food.
They both ate silently. Zethan gave her a few glances, but it seemed she was focused on her food. He glanced again, but she was still focused.
Zethan cleared his throat gently, trying to grab her attention, but it seemed all her focus was on the meal. He picked up his own cutlery, having ordered the same dish as her — it was the only option left. Deliberately, he moved his utensils noisily, even going so far as to act a bit improperly just to catch her eye.
Still, Lilia remained engrossed in her food, as if that was the sole reason they had come.
If he had known this food could grab so much of her attention, he would have waited until they got home and arranged something else — something that involved her giving him the attention he needed and deserved.
"Nice food," Zethan said quietly, almost sounding bothered. In fact, at this point, he was mad at the food for grabbing his wife’s attention more than him.
He could not even believe he was acting like this right now.
Lilia nodded, lifting her head slightly.
"True. This restaurant, I must say, has wonderful cooks," she replied softly before returning her attention to the food.
Zethan’s face darkened with displeasure. Why wasn’t she looking at him? She was giving the meal more attention than her own husband, and he didn’t like it one bit.
"How is the date, my wife?" he finally asked.
It was only then that Lilia fully raised her head to look at him.
"The date is more than I could ever ask for," Lilia said, her voice soft with sincerity. She couldn’t imagine anything better than being here with Zethan, simply enjoying each other’s presence.
"Thank you," she finally added gently.
Zethan’s lips curled into a wide smile.
"I’m supposed to be the one thanking you," he replied warmly.
Lilia picked up her glass of water, taking a gentle sip before setting it back down on the table.
For some reason, Zethan’s smile stayed on his lips as they both ate in silence, a comfortable joy filling the air between them. The soft, soothing music from the restaurant blended perfectly with the calmness of the moment.
It was then that Zethan finally understood why Lilia had been so quiet — she wasn’t ignoring him.
She was simply soaking in the atmosphere, appreciating everything around her.
Realization washed over him, and he could finally feel just how wonderful this place was — all thanks to his wife.
After they finished eating, they walked together toward the elevator. Lilia held the bouquet tightly, a small smile still playing on her lips. The excitement inside her was just too much to hide — her smile only grew wider the more she thought about the surprises and everything that had happened.
"Bonjour," Lilia murmured softly as the elevator moved.
Zethan’s lips curled into a smile before he burst into laughter.
Lilia raised a brow at him, wondering if she had said something wrong.
"What does that mean?" Zethan asked, still chuckling.
Giving him a pointed look, Lilia answered in a serious tone,
"It means thank you."
Zethan’s laughter only grew louder, echoing in the small elevator.
Cheeks flushing, Lilia felt embarrassed. If she was wrong, why don’t he just correct her instead of laughing so much?
"That’s not thank you," he said through his grin. "It means good morning."
"Thank you for telling me, honey — after all the laughter you’ve rained on me," Lilia replied sarcastically, her cheeks flushing in embarrassment. What made it worse was the way she had said it earlier with such confidence.
Zethan’s smile deepened as he leaned closer, his voice dropping to a soft murmur.
"Your voice sounds nice in that language though. I wonder what other sounds you are capable of making."
Lilia’s eyes widened immediately as she realized what he meant.
"Oh, Zethan, don’t be naughty," she whispered quickly.
"But I want to. Can you make me be less naughty, wife?" he whispered back in a low, sexy voice.
Lilia’s face flushed even harder, but before she could reply, the elevator pinged.
They stepped out, hand in hand, as they walked toward the entrance. freewēbnoveℓ.com
People turned to stare at them — some caught completely off guard, surprised by the striking couple they had just seen.
They both walked toward the car.
Zethan calmly opened the door for Lilia, who entered gracefully, placing the bouquet carefully at her side.
To her surprise, Zethan closed the door with the same calmness, not rushing at all.
He then walked around to the driver’s side, got in, and buckled his seatbelt.
"You’re driving?" Lilia asked, her eyes wide with disbelief.
"Yes, I am, my sweet wife," he murmured, his lips curving into a low, sweet smile.
Then, leaning slightly, he turned his head as they gazed at each other through the mirror. He adjusted it slightly, then added in a deeper tone,
"Buckle up... because you’ll be the next I’ll be driving tonight."
