Chapter 85: "To The Future"

As soon as they arrived back at the villa, James was about to sink into the plush leather couch in the living area, when Patty’s phone rang.

She glanced at the screen before picking up.

"Hello, Mr. Harrington," she greeted warmly.

James, who was pouring himself a glass of squeezed orange juice from the bar, raised an eyebrow as he listened in.

Patty nodded as she listened to Mr. Harrington’s request. After a moment, she turned to James.

"They’ve sent over the invoice for the trust and LLC setup. The total fee is $87,000," she informed him.

James nodded, as he set his glass down and grabbed his phone.

"Tell them to send me the account details. I’ll take care of it now," he said.

Patty relayed the message, and within minutes, she received the necessary information and gave it to James.

James received the information and with a few taps, he transferred the money.

Not long after, a notification popped up on his phone, confirming the successful transaction.

And Patty told him that Southpark Group has also confirmed the transaction over at their side.

With business taken care of, he set his phone down and stretched lazily.

"Well, that’s done. Now, let’s get back to enjoying this vacation," he said with a grin.

Leslie, who had been sprawled out on the couch, immediately perked up.

"YES! Finally! No more business talk. Let’s do something fun!" she declared.

Patty chuckled when she saw how eagerly Leslie was.

"Alright, sweetheart. How about we plan out the next three weeks? This island has so much to offer."

James leaned back in his chair, sipping his orange juice, with a satisfied smile on his face.

James, Patty and Leslie made sure to take their time as they have three weeks to enjoy themselves.

The first morning of their official "vacation mode" started with a private tour of the island.

A luxury SUV, arranged by the resort, picked them up from the villa.

Their tour guide, a cheerful local named Manu, greeted them with a warm smile.

"Welcome, my friends! Today, I’ll be showing you the hidden gems of Rarotonga."

Their first stop was Wigmore’s Waterfall, a stunning natural cascade hidden deep within the lush jungle.

The path leading there was a shaded paradise of towering palm trees and exotic flowers.

Leslie, who had never been deep inside a tropical jungle before, looked around in awe.

"Wow. This place is so beautiful. I’m very they have acted some movies here," she whispered.

They continued walking and when they reached the waterfall, the clear blue pool at its base looked too inviting to resist.

Before James could react, Leslie was already shedding her sandals and running into the water.

"Come on!" she called out, laughing as she splashed around.

James chuckled, shaking his head before joining her. The cool water was refreshing against the tropical heat, and soon, even Patty waded in, enjoying the serene moment.

They enjoyed their time in the pool but they were eager to check out other places, so after a few minutes, they got out and dried themselves off.

After drying off, Manu took them to Muri Beach, where they boarded a private boat for a snorkeling adventure.

The moment they jumped into the water, they were surrounded by the breathtaking life of the underwater world.

They saw colorful coral reefs, schools of vibrant fish, and even a few sea turtles lazily gliding by.

Leslie gasped as a school of neon-colored fish swam past her fingertips.

"So beautiful!" she murmured.

James, who was diving deeper, spotted a majestic stingray gliding across the sandy ocean floor, and grinned, before surfacing and pushing his wet hair back.

"We need to do this more often," he said, with a bright smile of filled with satisfaction.

Patty nodded in agreement, her eyes filled with awe as she floated in the crystal-clear water.

That night, back at the villa, they enjoyed a sunset dinner on the terrace, with a gourmet meal that was prepared by Patty.

The table was set with flickering candles, and the soft sound of the waves provided a peaceful backdrop.

As they dined on freshly grilled lobster, garlic butter prawns, and tropical fruit platters, James exhaled contentedly.

"This is exactly the kind of life we deserve," he said, Patty smiled, reaching over to squeeze his hand.

The next morning, they boarded a luxury yacht that James had arranged for the day.

The yacht was a sleek, modern vessel equipped with everything. It had an open-air lounge, sunbeds, a full bar, and even a jacuzzi on the upper deck.

Leslie, dressed in a stylish swimsuit, flopped onto one of the sunbeds with a satisfied sigh.

"James, I want to buy one of this," she said.

"As long as you can afford it, why not," James smiled, as he continued to enjoy the cool breeze blowing against his skin.

The yacht took them far out into the open sea, where they tried their hand at deep-sea fishing.

To their surprise, Patty was the first one to catch something — yellowfin tuna. It wasn’t large but it was quite big.

Leslie and James cheered as the yacht’s staff helped her reel it in.

"Wow, Patty, you’re a natural at this," James said, looking very impressed.

Patty just laughed, clearly enjoying herself.

Later, the crew prepared fresh sashimi and ceviche using the fish they caught, turning their meal into a true ocean-to-table experience.

As they watched the sunset from the yacht’s upper deck, glasses of chilled champagne in hand, Leslie turned to James with a dreamy expression.

"I never want to go back home."

"Me too," he said, with a smile.

For the next following days and the three weeks, they indulged in relaxation and pure luxury.

From private spa treatments with daily massages, hot stone therapy, and facials at the villa’s private spa area.

Then there was the lazy afternoons by the infinity pool, sipping tropical cocktails and soaking in the view.

There was also the evening bonfires on the beach, where they roasted marshmallows and watched fire dancers perform under the moonlight.

They also explored the local culture, as they visited the Punanga Nui Market, where they sampled delicious island street food like coconut pancakes and grilled mahi-mahi skewers.

And they also went to see some traditional dance performances, where in one of them, — much to her embarrassment and James’ amusement, Leslie was dragged on stage to learn a few moves.

On the last James, Patty, and Leslie sat outside on the villa’s terrace, watching the night sky.

Three weeks passed in the blink of an eye and things were about to get serious again tomorrow, as Patty had gotten a call from Mr Harrington, saying that everything was ready, and there’s a meeting with the Southpark Group team tomorrow.

The stars in the sky above were brighter than anything they’d ever seen, with an endless canvas of twinkling lights stretching across the heavens.

Leslie leaned back in her chair, sighing.

"This has been the best week of my life."

Patty nodded, a soft smile on her face.

"I can’t remember the last time I felt this at peace. Now, I’m looking forward to what the remaining three weeks hold," she said.

James took a slow sip of his whiskey, his gaze fixed on the horizon.

"Let’s make this our reality from now on," he murmured.

"I’d love that." Patty smiled.

"As long as I get to keep living like this, I’m in," Leslie grinned.

James chuckled, and raised his glass, and looked at the stars with ambitions in his eyes.

"To the future."
