Chapter 217: Forced Confrontations

Because of the knife pricking my back, due to my fear of being injured, I remained silent and followed the student all the way to the principal’s office. As he stopped by the door and knocked on the door, I finally began to understand what Blaze meant when he said it was more dangerous here in the school than outside.

I didn’t need to think too much to figure out that this person who had ambushed me in the elevator show hadn’t just been watching me this whole time to see if I’d actually go to the principal office. The person was also not a student, he was just currently disguising as one.

Which left me with one more question. How many students like this are currently here in the school?

When the door swung open and I got shoved into the office, I stumbled a little. When I regained my footing, I realized that two people were currently in the office. A man seated behind the desk who Iassumed was the principal. And at the tip of the desk, with his legs crossed and a glass of champagne in his hand, sat Andrian.

I felt all the hackles within me rise at once as our eyes locked. A lot of emotions ran through my insides at once. Shock, confusion, anger, disdain, hatred, hurt, it was a lot.

I glanced behind me and noticed that the person who brought me here was long gone.

"Who did you send to bring me here against my own will? I know that wasn’t a student!" I demanded, watching as he shook his head and chuckled a little.

"I have to admit; you’re starting to get quite smart." He drawled and I bristled, feeling extremely insulted.

"You’re right, that wasn’t a student. That’s one of the people working for me." He explained and I stiffened.

"So there’s more of those freaks watching me?" I echoed out and he hummed with a single nod. I let out a laugh of disbelief, unable to believe my ears.

"You’re insane, Andrian." I told him and he shrugged lazily before nodding towards the bottle of wine.

"Come sit, let us drink and have a much needed conversation." He offered and I bristled again.

"I’d rather leave instead." He informed me and he held a hand out.

"Wait, don’t be scared, I’m not here to get you out of here, I’m just here to talk." He explained and I shook my head adamantly.

"No, please. I don’t want to talk, I just want to leave." I hurled at him, reaching for the doorknob and pulling on it, but it didn’t budge like I feared.

Andrian slowly got to his feet and my heart flew into my throat in panic.

He faced the principal who I just noticed had an uncomfortable expression on.

"Leave us for now." He instructed the principal who got to his feet without question and walked around the table. He stopped beside Andrian, the uncomfortable expression on his face growing.

"You’re sure this is okay? And that I’d be safe? You certain Blaze w- wouldn’t kill me like he did Eugene?" His voice was lower and filled with terror this time, and I watched in disbelief at the realization that Andrian didn’t even look surprised.

What even is his deal?

Andrian placed a hand on the principal’s shoulder and assured him he had it all under control and that nothing’s gonna happen to him.

The principal ended up leaving me alone with Andrian, and at this point, I was feeling more panicked. Discomfort filled my insides as I watched as he poured a drink for me, which I instantly declined.

"Very well then, let’s just have a conversation then." He finally breathed out and I scoffed as I folded my hands. It was still hard for me to believe that Andrian was the bad guy this whole time. I couldn’t believe that I trusted him with my whole heart this whole time.

I pointed a hand at him, the hurt and disbelief clear in my voice as I spoke. "I can’t believe you betrayed me, I can’t believe you fooled me this whole time. I can’t believe you went through all that stress, the entire time you put into this, only for everything to be a lie!" I was breathing hard once I was done but I still continued.

"You made me trust you. You even showed me a picture of yourself and my mother, you made me feel safe and protected, you did all of that and so much more, only for everything to be a lie. Only for you to be working for Blaze’s father of all people! How could you?" My voice broke a little this time but I didn’t care.

Andrian let out a long, resignee sigh before rising to his feet and downing the rest of his drink.

"I know you were shocked..." He began after dropping his cup and I scoffed because that was an understatement. I was beyond shocked, it was something I never saw coming.

"But I have a plan. A huge plan." He continued, eyes locked with mine.

"What has that got to do with me? To the point of you betraying me, trying to make me push my mate away, and then trying to remove me from this school against my own will." I snapped and he sighed again.

"Your fucking mate ruined everything. Since he came into your life, all the plans got ruined, you began to suspect everything, everything began to go wrong. This is all his fault." He continued, a frown on his face and I scoffed again.

"That’s all you seriously have to say? My mate’s fault?"

"Yes, because he ruined everything. Now he has marked you, so you can’t be easily used for the project any longer! He ruined everything!" His voice rose this time and I flinched, eyes widening in confusion.

"What? W- what project? What are you talking about?" I demanded at once but he only sighed in response and I almost went mad from confusion.
