HDXD: Omni Harem System-Chapter 55: Feathers and Fur
Chapter 55: Feathers and Fur
A gentle but cold breeze swept through the banks of the river, rustling the tattered edges of the twins’ kimonos as Kiera and Nyla turned to each other, their silver and gold eyes locking on to one another.
Then, like a switch had flipped, both of them burst into a fit of synchronized giggles. Their laughter was light, airy, and so in sync it was almost eerie...like two halves of the same soul resonating in perfect harmony.
"Hehehe....
They clasped their hands together, fingers intertwining in an adorably coordinated motion. Their crimson tails swayed in perfect unison as they tilted their heads slightly, their expressions alight with warmth.
"We would love to be your friends, Adam!"
They both said in a cute tone, causing Adam’s heart to flutter at the mere sight of them.
’....Sooooo cuuuutttttteeee!!...
Adam said to himself.
It was only now, in this rare moment of calm, that he truly had a chance to take them in.
The Inazuma Twins, even with their tattered kimonos clinging to their delicate frames, showcased an unrestrained, almost wild but elegant beauty.
Their crimson hair, though identical in shade, carried their own unique charm.
Kiera’s for one had long twin ponytails flowed behind her, while Nyla’s had hers cut and styled in a short bob cut design.
They both had clear skin, soft to the touch but durable enough to stop bullets to some extent if shot by a normal human gun.
But their beautiful pair of golden and silver eyes aside. What made them truly mesmerizing, though, were their animalistic traits.
Kiera, with her pair of crimson colored wolf ears and cat tail...and Nyla showcasing her crimson colored cat ears and wolf tail.
They were breathtaking, in every sense of the word, if you asked Adam, at least.
However, as he thinks about how cute the twins were. Without warning, they both pounced at him in glee, like some wild animal or an over excited dog that has not seen its owner in a long time.
As they caught his tiny body in a tight hug, tackling him to the ground in the process.
"Ugh?! Gah... Wait, wait, wait!...
Adam shouted out.
The sheer force of their embrace sent a shockwave through his body. Even in their weakened state, they were very strong, physically speaking. His ribs screamed in protest, his lungs nearly caving in from the overwhelming pressure of two ecstatic girls squeezing the life out of him in a deep hug.
"Gggghhh!!...YOU’RE CRUSHING ME!"
Adam said in a pleading voice, which instantly caught their attention.
Their ears perked up in alarm, tails going stiff like guilty puppies caught misbehaving.
"Oops...
Kiera muttered, a sheepish smile forming at her lips.
"Hehehe! Sorry, Adam! We just wanted to hug our new friend."
Adam wheezed, rubbing his sore torso, and said.
"What the hell... you, girl, are so strong... I almost died because of you."
The twins giggled again, this time, a little more cautiously.
Shaking his head, Adam placed a hand over his chest. A warm golden glow pulsed from his palm, his Positive Touch activating. Life force rippled through his body, repairing the internal damage in seconds. A deep sigh of relief escaped him as the pain melted away.
"Alright... Much better."
He muttered, stretching his shoulders before turning his gaze back to the twins.
Meeting them eye to eye like this, he then proceeded to say.
"Since we’re on the subject of healing, I might as well finish fixing you both up too."
The twins blinked in sync, ears twitching as they exchanged a brief glance.
Adam hadn’t fully healed them earlier, only enough to fix their bodies and prevent any immediate danger.
He had been cautious.
After all, the last thing he wanted was to restore their full strength only for them to turn on him.
But now? Now, he trusted them enough.
Holding out his bony hand towards their shoulder one at a time, Adam channeled life force directly into them. Warm golden light surrounded their bodies, weaving through every lingering wound and bruise, erasing the last traces of their injuries. Within seconds, their strength was fully restored.
The moment he was done, the twins stretched in unison, rolling their shoulders, testing out their bodies...and the effect, to say the least, was as if they had just stepped out of a spa.
"Ahh! That feels so much better!..puuurrrrr"
Said Nyla as she began to purr in satisfaction, and her tail began swishing lazily behind her.
Kiera nodded in approval.
"Indeed... We owe you one, Adam."
Adam, however, just laughed and waved it off, saying as such.
"Just don’t go crushing me again, and we’ll call it even."
The twins just giggled again at his pleas.
However, the playful moment was short-lived as Nyla tilted her head, as if she just recalled something, and began to act upon that curiosity as she looked at Adam and asked.
"Oh! YEAH! I just remember... say so you really need to deliver that letter of yours to our father, right?"
At the mere mention of the question, Adam began looking back at the twins as he grabbed the letter from the inner pockets of his feather cloat and said as such.
His head nodded slowly in agreement to Nyla’s question.
"Yeah, that’s the plan."
Kiera’s expression darkened slightly.
But she just had to put this out there.
"You do realize how dangerous that is, don’t you?"
She asked.
After all, it would leave a bad taste in her mouth if her new friend just went to die a fool’s death.
"Well, yeah, I know how dangerous it is, but...
Adam paused for a moment before he continued.
"I have to go."
Adam admitted without hesitation.
The sisters exchanged a glance at his confirmation, one of silent understanding, so to speak. Then, they turned back to him, identical smirks creeping onto their faces, as they said.
"In that case, we’ll take you there."
Kiera said confidently.
"We know the fastest way to the village."
Nyla added, her tail flicking eagerly.
Adam looked at them and nodded, his mind going with the logical option here that this was the quickest way indeed.
As soon said to himself.
’Maybe I can make a feather cocoon and guide the two of them alongside me as they guide me in the right direction towards the village during flight. That way, we can cover more ground at a quicker pace.’
As such, he looked at both of them and said.
"In that case, you could just give me directions, and I can fly us there."
When Adam said this... Nyla blinked in surprise... Saying.
"Wait... You can fly?"
Kiera sighed, rubbing her temple.
"Ah, that’s right, I forgot to tell you that, sister."
Before Nyla could even respond, Adam stepped forward, his expression unreadable...until, with a single movement.
FWOOOSH!
A pair of massive, black harpy wings erupted from his back, stretching out wide. A powerful gust of wind blasted through the area, sending loose leaves swirling into the sky.
Nyla’s jaw nearly hit the floor when she saw Adam’s wings.
"WHAT?! Are you a Shinso Fallen Angel or something?!"
She asked, and Kiera replied.
"Hahah...
She laughed nervously and then replied on Adam’s behalf, saying.
"I asked the same thing sissy...but he refuted that claim, so no I don’t think he is."
Adam chuckled, folding his wings inward as he said.
"Nope... But I’d rather keep my monster species a secret for now."
At these words, the twins exchanged yet another glance at each other as if they had just made up their mind silently on something they just agreed on.
And Kiera was the one to speak for the two of them on this offer, as she said to Adam.
"Thanks, but no thanks, we would rather not fly."
Adam frowned at this, confused even as to why they refused to fly, despite knowing it might be faster, or maybe they didn’t know it was a faster means of travel.
As such, he put that fact out there.
"You know flying is faster, right? More ground could be covered this way."
But even then, the sister’s answer remained the same, with Nyla being the one to speak up this time.
"We appreciate the offer, but the answer is still no."
Adam frowned.
Then asked.
"Why not?"
However, the answer he got shocked him.
"We’re faster on the ground."
Kiera stated simply.
Adam arched a brow at this and said.
"Faster than flying?"
A mischievous grin spread across Nyla’s lips the moment Adam asked this question, as she replied with.
"Wanna see?"
Before Adam could respond, the twins took a step back, golden and silver eyes gleaming in unison, and the...
RIIIIIIIIIP!!!
Their already shredded kimonos barely held together as their bodies suddenly trembled. Muscles expanded.
Limbs stretched.
Their silhouettes twisted and grew, the air around them crackling as a menacing primal aura coated their beings, and their body began to transform.
And in the span of mere seconds, their transformation was complete.
Standing before Adam were two massive, crimson-colored wolves, each towering at nearly ten feet tall. Their fur shimmered like wildfire under the neon green sky of glowing clouds and the violet hues of the Paffora forest, their eyes glowing with a primal, otherworldly intensity.
Adam stared.
His brain took a moment to register what had just happened.
Then, exhaling slowly, he muttered.
"...Okay! That’s pretty damn cool."ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
