Below him, two massive crimson wolves darted between the towering trees with unnatural speed. The Inazuma Twins were fast, absurdly fast. Even without pushing themselves to their limit, they moved very quickly.

If a human were here, to that human’s eyes, they might as well be nothing more than passing blurs, their paws barely making a sound as they sprint across the uneven terrain.

Adam glanced down, watching their movements from below, his wings flapping.

"Damn, they’re quick."

He muttered to himself.

Their speed easily outclassed any vehicle he had ever seen, moving at least twice as fast as a top-tier supercar, yet he kept up without breaking a sweat.

Nevertheless, if they were all going this fast, it should not be long before they reached the village. As such, he looked down at the twins and asked.

"By the way... how much longer till we reach?"

Adam asked, and Kiera replied, saying a such while running.

"A couple minutes more or less... Hmmm! As a matter of fact, Nephari Bridge is right up ahead. Once we cross it, we’ve got about ten miles left... but with our speed, we will reach there in a few short minutes."

Announced Kiera, but Nyla, on the other hand, jumped in between the two, saying.

"But we need to hurry. If you want to make it to our father, we need to move faster."

Kiera then replied.

"Ahhh... I mean, is father even in any condition to have an audience?"

Asked Kiera, and Nyla’s eyes lowered in slight grief as she said.

"...Well, even if he isn’t... there is still mother, if she is even alive, of course, then if both died, then there is still big sis... she is clan heir after all... and mother did send her to the human world, to prevent her from getting contaminated."

Upon hearing this, Kiera then stepped in, saying.

"That being said, we don’t have any way to contact big sister, though. Mom is the only one that knows how to... she was given strict instructions that if she doesn’t hear from mom within a year, she is to assume the clan has perished and begin to recreate it from scratch."

Nyla said, with a stressed and frustrated voice.

Kiera then continued, saying.

"Sigh... the way things are... I am not sure Adam will be able to deliver that letter after all."

At these words, Adam furrowed his brows as he began to question the twins from above.

"Hmmm... Say, care to fill me in on why I can’t meet your dad?"

Asked Adam.

And for a moment, silence filled the air.

However, it was Kiera who responded, not without hesitation though.

As she began to speak, answering Adam.

"Our father got infected with the Bloom, and currently, he is in a coma."

"What...? No way... Damn, that’s rough!!"

Shouted Adam, to which he spoke up, asking.

"Ahh, shit... so who am I going give this letter too then? Ahhhh... sigh... either way, I have heard you been talking about this weird sickness, or virus, that has been plaguing your village... Care to explain to me what the bloom even is?"

Adam asked, and the twins exchanged heavy looks. It was Nyla who finally spoke, her voice laced with defeat.

"Like I said, it’s a virus, a nasty, deadly sickness that hit our village about a month ago. We don’t even know where it came from; it just affects Nekomata, Werewolves, and Nekowolves, each one reacting differently depending on the race."

Said Nyla.

Meanwhile, Kiera chipped in, adding more to the topic.

"Well, as you can imagine, things have only gotten worse... Once you’re infected, it hits you with the force of a truck...no mercy whatsoever. Sadly, there’s still no cure for it."

Said Kiera, as she went along, continuing her explanation.

"If that wasn’t terrible enough, it spreads at an alarming rate...far too fast for us to handle. That’s why over 60% of our clan in Ultima Village has perished within the month, and the numbers are only rising with every day."

"For that reason, our mother had to make a hard decision, and quickly too. It was a rush one, but given the damage that the bloom had done in such a short period of time, no one blamed her for making it. After all, if things go completely wrong, everything will be left in the hands of dear big sister."

"You see, our mother sacrificed more than 90% of her existing power and entrusted it to our older sister... It weakened her, of course, but this was a necessary step forward for her to succeed her as the next head of the Ultima Clan. So, right after giving our older sister the majority of her power, our mother sent her to the human world to live with one of her old human friends in the Human Empire."

Said Kiera, causing Adam to look down at her and said.

"Kiera... Nyla... I really mean this when I say it. I’m really, truly sorry for what happened to your family. If your parents really are gone, and your clan has been completely wiped out, then you and the other survivors can come back with me to Minerva Village."

Adam’s voice was steady but filled with sincerity as he continued.

"And if you two want... I wouldn’t mind taking you home with me to live there. My place is huge... or rather, it’s a big-ass mansion, tons of rooms, barely anyone living in it... but, uh, there’s just one catch. I can only bring you two... or, well, only females, to live with me really."

The twins blinked, their ears twitching slightly at his words.

Meanwhile, Adam scratched the back of his head, recalling the exact reason behind that rule even being a thing... Minerva had made it crystal clear three years ago.

A vivid memory flashed through his mind... her voice, firm and unwavering.

"Tch. Let’s be real, most men are straight-up trash. Outta the six chicks livin here, three got screwed over by some bastard at some point. That’s more than enough reason to keep any male ass-holes out."

"But that ain’t even the only thing. If ya wanna be part of the Shinso family, ya gotta either go through the Shinso evolution, becoming a Shinso yourself, or throw hands with me. And lemme tell ya, women evolve way more often than guys do."

"And on the rare chance a guy does evolve? He is a freakin powerhouse. But even then, most of em just wanna do their own thing, start their own crew, their own family, instead of joinin ours. Ain’t no man out there willin to bow his damn head to me, and I ain’t gonna let some punk walk in here thinkin he runs the place."
