Chapter 171: Misunderstanding - 20

After hearing them, as soon as Shine turned, suddenly Velric came out from those four and was about to touch Shine.

Just then, Shine turned and made Velric out, meaning Velric was now going to search for them. Shine already had a hunch about where Velric was hiding.

"Oh my, where were you, Velric? I couldn’t find you."

"Hehe... I was invisible for a moment. You don’t know I have powers."

Shine chuckled. Meyer’s assistant, Jerry, also came out and stood there. Seeing so many people, Velric was so excited—he was literally not stopping giggling.

"Let’s play together, all of us!"

Just then, Orian stepped ahead and squatted down in front of Velric.

"Why are you so cute, little one?" Saying this, Orian pinched Velric’s cheeks.

This was going to make Velric angry, and he pushed Orian’s hand away.

"Don’t pinch me carelessly! And you are not allowed to touch me."

After scolding Orian, Velric directly took steps toward Silas.

"Mumma, let’s play!"

Well, they didn’t plan to play, but Velric was so excited and giggling while asking them to play with him that they had no other choice but to play along with him.

The first one to count was Velric because he was the one who got out in the last round. Everyone was hiding.

The rule was that they could hide anywhere they wanted—even inside the mansion or stay in the garden and hide.

In the garden, there was a room specially designed for having tea when it rained. That way, they could enjoy the view while sipping tea during the rainy season.

Meyer grabbed Orian’s hand, pulled him into the room, and locked the door from inside. From the glass window, they started peeking out to see if Velric was coming.

Assistant Jerry climbed a tree to hide like some kind of monkey, and Shine was hiding behind some other trees.

But Theron and Silas couldn’t find any place to hide. Even after glancing around, they didn’t know where to go since they were still new to the place.

Suddenly, Theron grabbed Silas’s hand, and without wasting any time, they both stood right behind Velric. Knowing nothing, Velric started to count.

"99...100!"

As soon as Velric turned, they were both standing there. They touched Velric, and he had to start counting again. When he turned around again, they were still standing right behind him.

Velric was frustrated about counting again and again but was also happy that they were playing. Still, getting out in just a second was really frustrating for him.

After an hour, they were all tired.

"Ughh, I’m dying," Silas sighed and collapsed on the bench. Then, in a moment, he looked up at everyone with a face like he was fine.

Theron and Velric also came to sit on the bench. But the bench was a little too high, so Velric couldn’t get on it even after trying.

Seeing that, Silas was about to help him, but just then, Theron picked up Velric and placed him on the bench.

At that moment, some servants arrived with a tray. On the tray were snacks and fruit juices.

As soon as Silas and Velric saw the snacks, they immediately felt hungry. They were enjoying the snacks very much—Shine too. And as for Orian, he was always hungry, so of course, he would eat the snacks.

While they were eating, Theron suddenly said something that ruined everyone’s mood.

"Orian, I want you to come back home with me."

As soon as those words left Theron’s mouth, everyone’s attention was on him. Even Silas was looking at Theron with a confused face.

"Hey, what did you say?" Meyer asked.

Meyer’s face clearly showed how angry he was just from hearing that Theron wanted to take Orian back.

Still, despite everyone’s reaction, Theron didn’t stop speaking.

"Orian, you already seem to know what happened with Silas. So it’s up to you now—if you really want to prove your brother innocent or not.

"If you come back, and they see you safe and sound, and it’s you who tells them it’s not Silas, then it will prove Silas’s innocence."

Theron just wanted to prove Silas innocent. But Meyer started glaring at Theron even more because, after hearing him, Orian was indeed considering going back.

"But I don’t want to live there anymore. So after we’re done, bring me back here to Meyer, please."

Orian asked, and as he did, Meyer quickly grabbed his hand.

"Don’t worry, babe. I will also come with you. How can I let my babe go alone?"

"No, Meyer, there’s no need for you to come. I will come back to you, I promise."

Meyer became even clingier to Orian after hearing that. frёeωebɳovel.com

"Babe, do you love me that much?"

"Hey, quit showing off in front of your babe, babe ... There’s a kid here! Have some shame," Theron commented while sipping his juice and glancing at Meyer.

Just then, Silas touched Theron’s hand. In fact, he wanted to hold Theron’s hand but didn’t have the courage, so he just touched it lightly.

Theron understood perfectly and held Silas’s hand. Meanwhile, Velric leaned on Silas while eating his snacks.

Silas smiled because he was happy that Theron wanted to prove his innocence.

"But Theron, when are we leaving?"

Theron was busy smiling at Silas, but after hearing Orian, he glanced at him.

"It’s going to be dark soon, so I don’t think it’s a good idea to leave now. Let’s leave tomorrow."

Orian nodded after hearing that.

"Are we going back to our pack now?" Silas asked in the middle of the conversation.

"Nope, shorty... We’re staying in this villa tonight."

"Excuse me? Don’t you think it’s up to me to decide whether I want to let my guests stay over or not?"

"Nope, Meyer. It’s up to me. And thanks in advance, okay?"

Meyer was speechless after seeing Theron’s behavior.

"Theron, we have to ask for Meyer’s permission first before staying over. We can’t just decide on our own."

Silas quickly said, hoping Meyer wouldn’t be offended.
